United Airports of Georgia: Georgian Airports set new passenger records in 2024

The United Airports of Georgia announced that Georgian airports served a record-breaking 7,400,000 passengers in 2024.

The Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport was the busiest of the three, with over 4,750,830 passengers passing through its gates. The airport implemented 22,715 flights during the year, a notable increase of 29% in passenger flow and 30% in the number of flights compared to the previous year.

The Kutaisi International Airport, while experiencing an increase of only 3% in passenger flow and 1% in the number of flights year-over-year (YoY), served a respectable 1,722,809 passengers and conducted 5,078 flights.

Meanwhile, the Batumi International Airport achieved the remarkable milestone of 951,760 passengers, a historic high that also represented a 53% increase in passenger flow and a 33% increase in the number of flights.

In exciting news for Georgian aviation, British Airways, a leading UK carrier, will enter the Georgian market in March 2025, offering passengers a new choice. Additionally, EasyJet, a prominent low-cost airline, will introduce direct regular flights from London, Geneva, and Milan to Georgian destinations, commencing in March 2025.

Further expanding its presence in the region, Transavia France will launch its Paris-Tbilisi-Paris flight on April 9. Edelweiss, a Zurich-based airline, will also start operating in Georgia from April 12, flying twice weekly from Zurich to Tbilisi and back.

The United Airports of Georgia continues to engage in negotiations with other airlines to bring additional flights to its three airports.
