US embassy hosted the traditional friendly soccer match with employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Match was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili, General Prosecutor Irakli Shotadze, head of Special State Protection Service Aleksandre Chubinidze, Deputy Chief of Mission Adam Lamoreaux and employees of the embassy.
Before the match Deputy Chief of Mission Adam Lamoreaux awarded officers of Central Criminal Police Department, Patrol Police and Tbilisi Police Department as well as Main prosecutor’s office and Special State Protection Service with certificates of appreciation for successful cooperation.
“Today’s match between employees of U.S. Embassy and Ministry of Internal Affairs is another example of friendly relations and cooperation. Such activities contribute to forming tight, friendly and service relations and enhance the existing cooperation".-stated Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili.
Friendly match has been held between employees of MIA and U.S. Embassy for the second time.

MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS HAS LAUNCHED SECURITY PROGRAM AT PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Ministry of Internal Affairs is launching a program on security issues- “10 lessons of Security” at public schools all across the country.

Within the frames of the mentioned program trainers who will conduct the mentioned lessons are undergoing trainings at MIA Academy.

Specially trained employees from Patrol Police Department, Emergency Situations Management and 112 service will hold meetings with fifth grader pupils from various schools all across the country and discuss security topics. Within the frames of the program children will get acquainted with traffic security, rules on how to behave during the crises situation and natural disaster.

During the current school year 42 schools will be involved in the program on the initial phase. Book of instructions specially published for the program is already printed which will deliver information on security issues on the understandable language to children. Pupils have undergone practical instruction on how to behave during the earthquake, car accident and other emergencies.

Aim of the educational program is to provide children with information on rules of security and raise their awareness on making right reaction during the catastrophes.

Along with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Science and Education and Science, Council of State Security and Crises Management, non-governmental organization and international organizations are involved in the implementation of the project.

ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN in Batumi

The Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues Road Safety Week in Batumi. Within the scopes of the Road Safety Week, the Service Agency held cycling marathon participated by amateur cyclists, local sportsmen and tourists.
The event was opened by Data Kajaia - the racer of the Service Agency`s sport club “MIA Force” and the face of the Road Safety campaign. Data Kajaia provided participants of the marathon with detailed information regarding the Road Safety campaign and called them to observe traffic rules.
Participants of the cycling marathon were wearing Road Safety campaign branded T-shirts and caps. The marathon started from the exhibition area arranged within the scopes of the Road Safety Week and covered 3 km. distance.
Today is the fifth day of the Road Safety Week organized by the Service Agency and sport club “MIA Force”. Within the scopes of the Road Safety Week variety of events were held in Batumi Boulevard

Two Persons detained for racial discrimination

The officers of Old Tbilisi police division as a result of the searching and investigative activities detained Levan A. (DoB 1995) and Irakli E. (DoB 1999) were detained for racial discrimination.

Investigation established that on September 19 detainees verbally and physically assaulted two Nigerian citizens- Onuka Viktor Ch. and Onuka Daniel Ch. accompanying Maka B. Af terThe incident that took place on Rustaveli Avenue Tbilisi, the mentioned persons fled from the place of crime.

Detainees have already pleaded guilty.

Investigation is in progress on the fact racial discrimination, committed by the group.

Statement of Georgian MIA on Case of Giorgi Karbelashvili

At Borjomi-Tbilisi highway officers of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stopped “Toyota” made vehicle for violating rules of traffic movement. The vehicle was operated by member of the Georgian Parliament Giorgi Karbelashvili, who inflicted verbal and physical assault to the members of the patrol crew when officers requested to conduct standard procedures such as test on the alcohol and verification of the documentation. As a result, Giorgi Karbelashvili and his accompanying person- E.B. were transferred to the nearest police station located in Osiauri. Later, test results revealed that MP Giorgi Karbelashvili was driving the vehicle under the influence of the alcohol. It is also notable that his accompanying person was also drunk. After having conducted test on the presence of the alcohol, Giorgi Karbelashvili left the police building, while E.B. remains under arrest. Investigation is in progress on the fact of Resistance, threat or violence against protector of public order or other government representative, article 353, II part of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
