MIA SEIZED 224 PILLS OF SUBUTEX
The officers of Achara police department along with the Central Criminal Police Department as a result of jointly held operative-investigative activities detained previously convicted R.N. in Batumi for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities. During the personal search of the detainees policemen seized 224 pills of subutex drug.
Detainee has already pleaded guilty. Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities, article 260, VI part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
DRUG DEALER DETAINED BY MIA
The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department as a result of operative-searching activities detained previously convicted I.M. (DoB 1972) in Rustavi for illegal purchase, keeping and selling of drugs.
Investigation established that I.M. sold drugs on the regular basis. Drug test revealed that detainee had used opium. Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and selling of drugs, article 260 envisaged by the Criminal Code.
DRUGS IN ESPECIALLY LARGE QUANTITIES SEIZED BY MIA AND SSA
The officers of the Central criminal Police Department of MIA along with the State Security Agency as a result of jointly held operative-searching and investigative activities detained Iranian citizen H.Q. (DoB 1956) for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities. During the personal search of the detainee and searching activities held in detainees apartment police officers seized 22 pills of methadone drug and pieces of the same narcotic as well as 22 pills of buprenorphine and 14 packages of heroin.
Drug test revealed that H.Q was a drug addicted person. Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities, article 260, VI part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
”THIEF IN LAW” DETAINED BY MIA
The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department as a result of operative-investigative activities detained G.Ts. (DoB 1974) for being “Thief in Law”. Investigation established that G.Ts. is notoriously known to the criminal world as “Thief in Law”. He was detained when he arrived to Tbilisi International Airport from Moscow, where he resided for several years.
Investigation is in progress under the article 223 (1) II part envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
253 SUBUTEX DRUGS SEIZED BY MIA
The officers of Patrol Police Department detained previously convicted A.Ch. (DoB 1972) for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities.
During the personal search of the detainee law enforcers seized 253 pills of subutex drug which contains 1,987 gr of buprenorphine. Detainee has already pleaded guilty. Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities, article 260, VI part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
11-11-2016 DRUGS IN ESPECIALLY LARGE QUANTITIES SEIZED BY MIA
The officers of Batumi police division of Achara police department as a result of investigative activities held on the basis of operative information detained M.K. (DoB 1976) for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities.
During the personal search of the detainee policemen seized 104 pills and 4 pieces of the drug substance, which according to expertise contains 0,83416 gr of buprenorphine. Heroin containing powder has also been seized as well as marijuana from the detainee.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities, article 260, VI part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
ILLEGAL FIREARM AND AMMUNITION SEIZED BY MIA
The officers of Vake-Saburtalo police department as a result of investigative activities held on the basis of operative information detained L.M. (DoB 1995) in Tbilisi for illegal purchase and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
During the personal search of the detainee policemen seized PSM, unregistered pistol with one magazine and 4 bullets. Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and carrying of firearms and ammunition, article 236, II and III parts of the Criminal Code.
MIA HOSTED REGIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE TOPIC OF POLICE COOPERATION
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Besik Amiranashvili along with director of the Central Criminal Police Department Davit Natriashvili took part in “Organized Crime Coordinators Network- Law Enforcement, Exchange of Information”. At the conference parties discussed operative case analysis as well as ongoing international operative cases led along with the EU member states.
The conference was attended by Ernst Geiger, Head of Criminal Police Department of the Federal Ministry of Interior, Pol Marouschek, Head of Analytical Department of the aforementioned service, representative of the Organized Crime Bureau, East Europe unit-Alois Zorweg as well as representatives of National Central Bureaus of Interpol and Criminal Police Departments of Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Georgia is one of the main partner countries from Caucasus region, which got involved in EU project on international police cooperation. The project envisages cooperation between the countries of the region, as well as exchange of information, illegal money circulation control and coordination in the process of arresting offenders. The project will also further enhance operative cooperation and initiation of the joint investigations.
ILLEGAL FIREARM AND AMMUNITION SEIZED BY MIA
The officers of Mestia division of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti police department as a result of operative-investigative activities detained T.K. (DoB 1955) for illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
During the personal search of the detainee law enforcers seized 25 bullets, 3 magazines and unregistered Makarov pistol. Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms and ammunition article 236, III part of the criminal code.
DRUGS IN ESPECIALLY LARGE QUANTITIES SEIZED BY MIA
The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department as a result of the searching and investigative activities held on the basis of operative information, detained D.M (DoB 1968) for drug related crime at Tbilisi International Airport.
Law enforcers seized buprenorphine containing 150 pills, 14 pills of methadone and methadone powder -0,4962gr. Investigation established that detainee purchased the mentioned drugs on the territory of Turkish Republic and smuggled on the territory of Georgia.
Drug test revealed that detainee was a drug addicted person.Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and smuggling of drugs in especially large quantities, article 260, VI part, sub-paragraph A and article 262, IV part sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
