The President of Georgia Awarded Mr. Alexander Vershbow with the Golden Fleece Order
The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili, has awarded the NATO Deputy Secretary General Mr. Alexander Vershbow with the Order of Golden Fleece for strengthening Georgia’s sovereignty, deepening NATO-Georgia relations and for the outstanding contribution to Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
“Euro-Atlantic integration is the unwavering choice of my nation. On this path, we successfully went through various challenges with strong support of our distinctive friends, who are still standing with us to move forward to the advancement.
It is my pleasure to award you with the order of the Golden Fleece for your meritorious contribution to the Georgia`s Euro-Atlantic integration as well as to the enhancement of Georgia – NATO relations. I am proud that my country has such remarkable friend as you are”, - was stated by the President of Georgia.
Mr. Alexander Vershbow has expressed his gratitude to the President of Georgia for receiving the prestigious award the Order of the Golden Fleece.
“It is the special honor to be recognized by the government of Georgia in 2016, your country’s 25th year of Independence and I would like to congratulate the government and the people of Georgia on reaching this important milestone.
Over the past quarter centuries the NATO has become the strong partner and a close friend, join together by the common values and to shared commitments to defend of those values.
And I am proud to contributed to this partnership and to the launch of the substantial of NATO-Georgia package two years ago, which is bringing Georgia closer to its all practical NATO membership”, – was stated by Mr. Alexander Vershbow.
Giorgi Margvelashvili is my greatest mistake ever –Bidzina Ivanishvili
According to the Former Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili, the President Giorgi Margvelashvili is his greatest mistake ever and he once apologized for this. As he noted, Margvelashvili is in the process of self-identification.
“I have never seen this age of man was changing his character diametrically and teenagely,”-Bidzina Ivanishvili said in Zugdidi during press conference.

North Atlantic Council visits Georgia to confirm NATO’s enduring support
NATO will reconfirm the importance of its partnership with Georgia during a two-day visit of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) starting on Wednesday (7 September 2016).
Today, a meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission – chaired by Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg – will bring together ambassadors from all NATO Allies with Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili to discuss Georgia’s contributions to transatlantic security, regional security, and Tbilisi’s reform progress.
On 8 September, the NATO delegation will meet with President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze, Defence Minister Levan Izoria, Chairman of the Parliament David Usupashvili, and Members of the Georgian Parliament.
During the visit, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and several ambassadors will participate in the Tbilisi International Conference, while Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow will open the new venue of the Information Centre on NATO and the European Union in Tbilisi. The NAC will also visit the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre, which is helping to enhance the interoperability of forces from Georgia, NATO Allies and partners through training and exercises.

Always have Georgia on your mind – the President of Georgia addressed to the US presidential candidates. On the question: what should US Presidential Candidates know and what is the message of Georgian President to them, Giorgi Margvelashvili noted that Georgia is important country for USA and Global Stability.

We are more organized in EU Cooperation issue than European Union is – this statement was made by the President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili. He talked about LIBE Committee decision and added that reason of delay this process is inter problems of European Union.
“We made our homework and I think that we deserve praise. We share European values. European Union has its challenges and plans and they should make a decision,”-the President of Georgia said. He hopes that Georgia will get visa free regime soon and will have more busy European agenda.

The President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili congratulated to cadets graduation of Davit Agmashenebeli National Defence Academy. The leader took part in inaugural ceremony.
According to the Presidential Administration, the President of Georgia paid tribute to heroes died for battles of territorial integrity of Georgia.
“I’m very happy when I am with you. This is a place of pride, defence and intellectual area of Georgia. Thank you for choosing this profession. You are cadets now. You continue our country’s tradition and I am so glad for it,”-Giorgi Margvelashvili said.
Giorgi Margvelashvili visited Shota Meskhia State University in Zugdidi
The President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili visited Shota Meskhia State University in Zugdidi and held a lecture on European choice of Georgia, as well as choice freedom and democratic development of country.
The President highlighted the issue of voter’s activeness and said that if there are rows at 8 of October, clashes never repeat.
Giorgi Margvelashvili talked about Kortskheli incident and called it shameful.
President of Georgia continues meetings with the youth
In the frames of the campaign Your Voice is Your Future, the President of Georgia continues meetings with the youth in the regions.
Giorgi Margvelashvili visited Anaklia Future Camp and discussed the territorial sovereignty of Georgia. He highlighted the importance of the European and Euro Atlantic integration way of Georgia.
“We can see our own land from here. It is occupied by Russia and We will return it,”-Giorgi Margvelashvili said. According to him, only strengthening Georgian Society can give this land us back.
The President of Georgia and the First Lady supported Georgian Athletes at the Olympic Games
The President of Georgia and the First Lady have completed their visit to Brazil. H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili and Mrs. Maka Chichua have attended the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games together with the various countries leaders. As a part of the visit, the Head of State has held the bilateral meetings as well. The main issue of discussion was the non-recognition policy. H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili together with the Georgian delegation has visited the Olympic village as well. He wished success to the Georgian athletes ahead of the Olympic Games. The President of Georgia has supported the Georgian athletes competing in different types of sports.
“We have an opportunity to stand together with our favorite athletes, and to participate in the beginning of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We have given the opportunity to work with the different delegation in that significantly important event, where all nations send their chosen representatives. The primary focus of our work was to hold discussions on the non-recognition policy of our occupied regions as well as on support the IDP resolution”, - was stated by the President of Georgia following the visit. H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili together with the Georgian delegation will return to Georgia, today.
The Armenian Foreign Minister has laid a wreath at the Fallen Heroes Memorial
In the frames of the official visit to Georgia, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian paid tribute to the memory of those who died for the unity of Georgia and laid a wreath at the Fallen Heroes Memorial.
Edward Nalbandian arrived in Tbilisi today, on 1 August 2016. The Armenian Foreign Minister held meetings with Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze.
