The Official Lunch was Held in Honor of the President of Kyrgyz Republic at the Presidential Palace
On behalf of the President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili the official lunch was held at the Presidential Palace in honor of the President of Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Almazbek Atambayev.
At the lunch, held as a part of the official visit, the Presidents toasted for the friendship between Georgia and the Kyrgyz Republic.
“I am delighted that we have received the firm support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and also have taken the significant step forward to enhance cooperation between our countries. I would like to announce that we are starting the new stage of our relationship which will bring many benefits to our countries.
Mr. President, our countries have century-old ties of friendship. Georgians and Kyrgyz people are deservedly proud of their histories, rich cultures, and valuable contributions in the development of our civilization.
Precisely, with this spirit, let me allow you to offer the toast for the President of Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Almazbek Atambayev, Mrs. Raisa Atambayeva, and the strong friendship and welfare of Georgian and Kyrgyz people”, - stated the President of Georgia.
Almazbek Atasmbayev will visit Georgia
The President of Kyrgyzstan will visit Georgia Today. In the frames of state visit, the welcome ceremony will be held at Presidential Palace. The President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili will meet to Almazbek Atasmbayev and tomorrow the widen format of meetings will be held.
The Official launch will be also hold. Almazbek Atambayev will visit Tbilisi with his wife.
The Statement of the President of Georgia Concerning the Elections of 8th of October
The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili urges the electorate to be active on the second round of Elections of 8th of October. The President addresses the law enforcement agencies to respond timely and firmly to the procedural violations identified during the vote counting.
“I would like to thank the Georgian citizens, who actively participated in the elections. Your participation was extremely important. Throughout the two month period we have been urging our society to be active at the election process and the registered percentage of turnout is indeed very significant.
The pre-election process was active during the last month and a half and, despite some exceptions that on the whole did not complicate the environment, was followed by the calm, constructive, and active electoral process.
Regrettably, some severe violations have been identified during the vote counting process. This fact is not only disappointing, but also provocative. Such incidents that took place in some election districts need rapid response, considering the fact that the Parliamentary Elections 2016 is not only the elections of October 8th.
Our goal is that the Parliamentary Elections of 2016 to be evaluated as the one conducted according to the highest standards. The whole election process will be assessed according to the election of October 8th, the rapid response to the excesses that took place during the elections, and the successful conduct of the second round.
Based on the preliminary results, multiple second round elections are expected; therefore, once again, I would like to ask you to be active during the run-off period and to once again show your interest and engagement in this process.
I would like to call on the relevant authorities to rapidly respond to the violations identified during the vote counting.
We should use all our efforts in order to ensure that the October 8th Parliamentary Elections remain in Georgia’s history as the elections, conducted according to the highest standards and quality”, - stated the President.
Giorgi Margvelashvili made his choice at Mtatsminda polling station
The President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili made his choice at Mtatsminda polling station at 9 a.m. in parliamentary elections. The Leader of the country came to polling station with his family members and called to citizens to be more active.
“First of all I want to congratulate elections day to our people and call them to be more active,”-Margvelashvili said. According to him, he supported multi partial Georgian Parliament and powerful political force.
The President of Georgia: “You Should Attend the Elections and Determine Your Country’s Future!”
The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has delivered a public lecture at Samtskhe-Javakheti State University in Akhaltsikhe. The lecture discussed the importance of the civil activism in the process of country’s development.
The Rector of Akhaltsikhe State University Mr. Merab Beridze has hosted the President and overviewed those projects that were financed by the Reserve Fund of the President over the last two years. Since 2014 year till today, as a part of the “Mutual Understanding” memorandum, the academic and administrative buildings of the University were provided with the internet access. Also, the academic conference was held and Grigol Khandzteli scholarship was established. The project supporting the ethnic minorities is still ongoing. Totally, the University has received 95 000 GEL funding.
The President has answered the questions of the students concerning such themes as Georgia’s European integration, the attitude the electorate toward the electoral process, the President’s activity during the pre-election period, and the projects planned by the initiative of the President.
The President urged the first-year students to attend the elections and to fulfill their civic duty. As he further on emphasized, the election is the process, which offers opportunities for the country’s development. It is a direct responsibility of all citizens of Georgia to attend the elections.
“I do not encourage to vote in favor of any politician, or political party. The most important in this process is your participation, which will give our country the opportunity to reach its goals. Your choice is independent and this is the achievement of our previous generations. We should value this right. Democracy is implemented during the elections and the democratic state flourishes”, - stated the President.
As the President emphasized, by refusing to attend the elections, the population causes harm not only to themselves but also to their homeland. They take away their own right to participate in the democratic and the political processes.
The President asks the population to establish some basic criteria for evaluating political programs according to which they will make their decisions.
“Before I make my decision I will take into consideration the party’s foreign policy, its economic programs and attitude toward the judiciary branch. These three areas are paramount for me,” – stated the President.
The President also urges the political parties to move into the rural areas, to get acquainted with the problems of the population, and to take an account the public order.
The winner team members of the project “Your Voice – Our Future”, from Akhaltsikhe 6th public school have also attended the meeting held at the University. They have expressed gratitude to the President for implementing the project.
Rejecting participation in election means self-punishment-Giorgi Margvelashvili
According to the President of Georgia, by rejecting participation in election people punishes itself and its country, deprive right of managing democratic and political process.
Giorgi Margvelashvili called to the society to form some criteria according programs of political parties and make a decision for elections.
“I will consider the foreign course, economical program and attitude to court reforms of political party to make a decision. These 3 is most important criteria for me,”-the President of Georgia said. Giorgi Margvelashvili made an advice to political parties to live in villages in this period because as he said, there are a lot of problems in regions.

The President of Georgia calls to the Former President of Georgia not to involve in the election process. As Giorgi Margvelashvili said, his address to Mikheil Saakashvili already second time.
As Giorgi Margvelashvili said, the society should make free choice and the tension against the democracy is like a crime.
“This is an important democratic experience and we are going to hold modern, European standard elections. The society should make free choice. I call to the Former President of Georgia not to involve in the election process,”-Giorgi Margvelashvili said.

Giorgi Margvelashvili has laid a wreath at the memorial of soldiers deceased in the war of Abkhazia, regarding the fall of Sokhumi, at the Heroes' Square. “Every year, on this tragic occasion, we paid tribute to the victims of this fratricidal war, to the memories of those people, who died in this dreadful war.

Giorgi Margvelashvili calls to Mikheil Saakashvili not to involve in the election process
The President of Georgia calls to the Former President not to involve in the election process and retrain from violence. As press speaker of Giorgi Margvelashvili said, the position of Interior Minister was adequate. Giorgi Mgebrishvili said that if Mikheil Saakashvili will return to Georgia, law enforcement agencies will act according to the norms of law.
“Giorgi Margvelashvili has repeatedly called on the one of the leader of Ukrainian government officials that it is better to refrain from interfering in the election process. It would be great if it would show restraint in this important democratic process ", - said Eka Mishveladze

The President of Georgia thinks that there are people prone to aggression in any political movements who think that election process is more destructor.
As Giorgi Margvelashvili said, the state should answer to any king of aggression and violence and the elections should be held in free, peaceful and fair conditions.
