The President of Georgia Hosts Fereydan Georgians at the Presidential Palace
The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has hosted Fereydan Georgians at the Presidential Palace, who will acquire Georgian language and folk songs, as a part of the project, financed by the Presidential Reserve Fund.
The President Margvelashvili, the Head of the Administration of the President, Mr. Giorgi Abashishvili, and the Political Secretary of the President, Mrs. Pikria Chikhradze have personally guided the guests at the Presidential Palace.
The President has conversed with the visitors and discussed the current living conditions of Georgians in Fereydan. The President has supported the continuation of the project and wished success to its participants.
The project, carried out by Georgian Demographic Society XXI, enables Fereydan Georgians to acquire Georgian language and folk songs. The young participants will travel across the country and explore the historical monuments of Georgia.
The President of Georgia Meets with the President and the Board Member Candidates of the National Bank
The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has held a meeting with the President of the National Bank of Georgia, Mr. Koba Gvenetadze and the National Bank board member candidates.
At the meeting, the candidates have presented their future plans to the President. After careful consideration of the candidates, the President has made a decision to present the following candidates, Mr. Archil Mestvrishvili, Mr. Murtaz Kikoria, and Mr. Robert Singletary to the Parliament.

The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has attended the divine service dedicated to St. George’s Day at Shavnabada Monastery and congratulated Georgian population on the occasion of the celebration.
"I congratulate you on the occasion of St. George's Day! May St. George’s blessings strengthen each one of us and the entire country! '', - stated the President.The divine service at Shavnabada Monastery, founded with blessing of Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II, was held by Archimandrite Shio.The divine service was also attended by the Head of the Administration of the President of Georgia, Mr. Giorgi Abashishvili and the Secretary of the National Security Council Mr. Davit Rakviashvili.
The President of Georgia Meets with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States
The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has held a meeting with the Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, Mrs. Bridget Brink. The meeting was mainly focused on the cooperation between Georgia and the United States and its future perspectives. The President and Mrs. Brink have exchanged congratulations on successful elections in Georgia and the United States. According to Mrs. Brink, Georgia traditionally has a firm support both from the Republican and the Democratic parties, which will further contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Mrs. Brink has once again affirmed the United States’ firm support of Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the country’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
The conversation has also touched upon the positive dynamism of cooperation between Georgia and the United States in the areas of democracy, defense and security, economics and trade, education and culture, including the Georgia-US Strategic Partnership Charter.
The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Administration of the President of Georgia Mr. Giorgi Abashishvili, the Secretary of the National Security Council Mr. Davit Rakviashvili, the Secretary of the President in Foreign Relations Mr. Tengiz Pkhaladze, the Political Secretary of the President Mrs. Pikria Chikhladze, and the Parliamentary Secretary of the President Mrs. Ana Dolidze.
The President of Georgia Holds a Meeting with Vladimer Chachibaia
The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili and the Secretary of the National Security Council Mr. Davit Rakviashvili have met with Vladimer Chachibaia, the nominated candidate for the position of Chief of General Staff of Georgian Armed Forces.
The meeting was held following the assembly of the National Security Council. Mr. Chachibaia has presented his views and future plans to the President and the Secretary. The President will inform the Parliament about his decision concerning the candidate tomorrow.

The President of Georgia declared 2017 the year of education.
As Giorgi Margvelashvili said at the 9th Parliamentary session, education is the freedom and only the educated person can reach the interior, social and political freedom.
"I agree with the Prime Minister, the country's main priority should be the education. I believe that with joint efforts, we will go to the educated and free society with freedom independence", - said the President.
Giorgi Margvelashvili stated, that Georgian authorities will have to start the changes.
EU and Euro Atlantic Integration process of Georgia is still the priority of the country
According to the President of Georgia, EU and Euro Atlantic Integration process of Georgia is still the priority of the country. As Giorgi Margvelashvili said, de-occupation, non-recognition policy of occupied territories and globalizing this process are another priorities.
“Georgian Parliament should support to all the public employ who serves this process. This is the most important issues for our internal and foreign policy,”-Giorgi Margvelashvili said.
The President of Georgia Appoints the First Session of Parliament
The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has signed a legal act according to which the first session of the Ninth Parliament is appointed on November 18, at 12:00 pm.
The President has passed the legal act following the consultations of the Administration of the President of Georgia with all participating parties
The President of Georgia – “Strengthening Our Defense Is Not Directed Against Anyone”
The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has attended “NATO-Georgia Exercise 2016”, conducted in NATO-Georgian Joint Training and Evaluation Centre in Krtsanisi. The President explored the training process along with the Prime Minister of Georgia. The President discussed the importance of the exercise and noted that by strengthening our country’s defense this training will further contribute to the global stability.
"Georgia, the country with a bright and clear vision of stability and security, once again asserts itself as a responsible partner of NATO; the partner that expresses constant readiness, both through its position and efforts, to further contribute to strengthening global security.
We would like to reinforce our country's defense, in order to bring more peace and stability. Strengthening our defense is not directed against anyone, but is solely aimed at enhancing stability and peace. Georgian soldiers have been affirming this for years, while taking part in international missions of ensuring global security.
I welcome everyone who came to Georgia to implement this joint training. This center indeed serves a purpose of cooperation for the common peace and stability", - stated the President.
This multinational training is the second exercise conducted as a part of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP).
Along with Georgian officers, 250 militaries from eleven members of the Alliance - Turkey, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Belgium, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, the US, and two partner countries - Ukraine and Macedonia also participate in the training.
The President of Georgia Awards the Bishop of the Evangelical-Baptist Church
On the occasion of the International Day for Tolerance, the President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has awarded the Bishop of the Evangelical-Baptist Church, Rusudan Gotsiridze with the Order of Honor for her contribution in the facilitation of dialogue between the representatives of various religions, her compassion, and charity.
The President has also awarded the Head of Poka Monastery, Mother Elizabeth (Meskhishvili) with the Order of Honor for her personal contribution in the enhancement of friendship among nations, her compassion, and charity.
The ceremony, held at the Presidential Palace, was attended by the representatives of ethnic and religious minorities and diplomats.
