Georgian coast guard completed the final maritime training of the multinational exercise sea breeze 2021. This is reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
During the last stage, the vessels of the participating countries took part in the joint maritime training held in the Ukrainian waters. The MIA Border Police Coast Guard Department ships DIOSKURIA and OCHAMCHIRE crews, along with NATO and partner countries’ naval units, carried out search-and-rescue operations, naval shootings and tactical manoeuvres. The exercises aimed to share knowledge and experience, enhance interoperability and increase joint capabilities.
Co-organised by the U.S. Sixth Fleet and the Ukrainian Navy, the Sea Breeze exercise lasted for ten days in the Black Sea. Sea Breeze 2021 had the largest number of participating nations in the exercise’s history, with 32 countries from six continents providing 5,000 troops, 32 ships, 40 aircraft, and 18 special operations and dive teams.
Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of Defence of Georgia took part in the sea, land and HQ components of the exercise. Each element was planned and executed in full compliance with NATO standards and procedures.

On 11 February 2021 at Vaziani training area, Georgian and U.S. soldiers participated in a live-fire exercise, using recently delivered 100 MK19 grenade launchers and 200 M2 machine guns. These NATO-interoperable weapons, fielded in units from the platoon to battalion level, are part of a larger, $18M effort to outfit the Georgian Defense Forces with new weapon systems. This exercise reiterated the United States’ and Georgia’s strong partnership and cooperation on defense and security.

Multinational Exercise Agile Spirit 2019

From July 27 through August 9, Georgia will host the most large-scale multinational military exercise Agile Spirit 2019. The exercise will officially be opened at II Infantry Brigade in Senaki on July 27.

Agile Spirit 2019 is being conducted in Georgia for the ninth time and is aimed to enhance interoperability, train and improve operational capabilities of exercise participants during planning and execution of operations in real time within multinational environment; as well as making contribution in maintaining stable and secure environment over the Black Sea region. That’s why the main message of the Agile Spirit 2019 is - “Strength through Partnership”.

This time the exercise will be held on three locations – II Infantry Brigade in Senaki, Orpolo and Vaziani fire ranges. More than 3000 military servicemen of NATO member and partner countries will participate in Agile Spirit 2019.  The following 14 countries are engaged in the exercise: Georgia, USA, UK, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Norway, Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece, Montenegro, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.

The scenario of the combined multinational exercise includes command, staff and field trainings with live fire, engagement of maneuver and combat support elements in defensive and offensive operations.

Prime Minister and NATO Secretary General Attend NATO-Georgia Exercise 2019

Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg attend the NATO-Georgia Exercise 2019 today.

The Head of Government and the NATO Secretary General visited the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) where Colonel Nikoloz Janjghava, the First Deputy Chief of the Defense Forces of Georgia, informed them in detail about the progress in the exercise.

Mamuka Bakhtadze and Jens Stoltenberg also visited the multinational brigade and attended an introductory briefing on the purposes and goals of the training audience.

The Prime Minister of Georgia and the NATO Secretary General also met with armed forces members wounded and injured in international missions, and thanked them for their selfless service.

The Command and Staff Exercise hosted by JTEC on March 18-29 brings together almost 350 armed forces members and civilians. The NATO-Georgia Exercise 2019 is the first joint brigade-level command and staff exercise carried out under the leadership of Georgia's Defense Forces. The exercise seeks to enhance the interoperability between the Georgian, NATO, and partner countries' armed forces, and to expand Georgia's command and control capabilities.

During three days, the final details of the planning were discussed by the representatives of NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT), NATO member and partner countries and Georgian side at NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC).

The Final Planning Conference of NATO-Georgia Exercise 2019 was concluded by the Commander of Train and Military Education Command of the Georgian Defence Forces Colonel Grigol Chelidze and summarized the results of the event.

NATO-Georgia Exercise 2019 will be conducted at NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC). 23 NATO member and partner countries already expressed their willingness to participate in the event. During the exercise the Georgian military personnel will develop skills in planning NATO operations using computer simulations. The exercise will be conducted within the frames of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package and contribute to the enhancement of Georgia’s interoperability with the Alliance.

Trilateral Field Exercise “Caucasian Eagle 2017”

“Caucasian Eagle 2017” the Trilateral Field Exercise of special operations`military units of Georgian, Turkish and Azerbaijan Armed Forces are being conducted at IV Mechanized Brigade firing ground in Vaziani.

The goal of the exercise is deepening cooperation of Special Operations Forces of the three countries, sharing knowledge and experience, as well as developing the special operations conducting capabilities.

According to the scenario, the military units destructed important targets through direct attacks. The military servicemen fulfilled tactical, shooting, engineering and other kinds of special tasks. They had to undergo medical preparation and mastered fighting elements.

The training will last for 10 days with participation of land and air components.

The joint military exercise of Special Operations units of Georgian, Turkish  and Azerbaijan Armed Forces is the third consecutive exercise. Prior to that, Turkish Republic hosted the exercise for already two times.
