The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held a briefing dedicated to the 32nd Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence
On 25 September 2023, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held a briefing for the representatives of Georgian media on the 32nd Anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence as well as the participation of Esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly.
The briefing was attended by journalists of “TV-24”, the Georgian First Channel “1TV”, the private consulting and publishing company “Georgian Business Consulting Group”, news agency “News Day Georgia”, online media “Geoecohub”, newspapers “Resonance”, “Multinational Georgia”, “Free Georgia”, “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
In his speech, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in Georgia D. Seyitmammedov noted that during the years of independence, huge successes have been achieved in political, economic, cultural and social spheres. The great transformations initiated by Hero Arkadag successfully continuous under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
It was also noted that, being committed to the policy of peacefulness, positive neutrality and international cooperation, Turkmenistan is steadfastly pursuing its chosen course, developing constructive dialogue both at the international level and in the format of international organizations.
The diplomat also briefed the participants on the main initiatives voiced in the keynote speech of the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov from the rostrum of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly.
It was noted that the political statement of the President of Turkmenistan assessed the current state of affairs in the world and put forward very serious proposals aimed at resolving a number of topical issues on the global agenda today.
Special emphasis was placed on the dynamic development of Turkmen-Georgian relations, which are based on regular political dialogue, strengthening of economic ties, as well as close interaction in many areas of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The briefing participants were shown a video demonstrating the achievements of the country as well as familiarizing them with the history and culture of Turkmens.
As part of the briefing, the Embassy hosted an exhibition of books by the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as works of culture and art of the Turkmen people.

On 18 January 2023, the Embassy held a briefing for the representatives of Georgian media on the new, modern administrative center of the Akhal Velayat – the city of Arkadag.
The briefing was attended by journalists of the Georgian First Channel, “TV-24”, “The Georgian Business Week”, news agencies “News Day Georgia”, “Inter press news”, online media “Geoecohub”, newspapers “Resonance”, “Multinational Georgia”, “Free Georgia”, “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
In his speech, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan Mr. D.Muratov noted that under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, long-term large-scale programs aimed at strengthening the state foundations, increasing the economic power of the country, improving the living standards of the population, promoting further prosperity of Turkmenistan are successfully implemented. The birth of the city in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag is another evidence of the country's steady progress to new heights of development, the successful realization of the creative potential of the people.
The journalists were informed in detail about the stages of the construction, the buildings and facilities being erected in the city, about the park areas, as well as about the lines of modern communication systems that will ensure the smooth operation of the city’s smart technology.
It was also stressed that Turkmenistan, having embarked on the path of progressive transformation, also aims to realize the concept of "smart" cities. The new administrative center of the Akhal Velayat will become a role model, both in terms of new urban culture and in terms of ecology, as well as another visible reflection of the progress of the homeland and a source of pride of the Turkmen people.
Turkmen and Georgian specialists discussed online registration of legal entities
On 2 May 2022 with the active assistance of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia, an online meeting between representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Turkmenistan and the National Agency of Public Registry of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia was held to study the international experience in the field of online registration of legal entities, including the principles of «Single Window», management of the Unified State Register.
During the meeting, Georgian specialists shared their experience in using the «Single Window» principle in their work. In accordance with the agenda, the parties also considered the issues of the legal framework, the necessary changes in the country’s legislation, technical and software issues, and others.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further deepen cooperation and exchange experience on all issues of mutual interest.
Bicycle ride dedicated to World Bicycle Day held in Tbilisi
On June 1, 2022, in Tbilisi the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia with the assistance of Georgian National Bicycle Federation held a bicycle ride dedicated to World Bicycle Day.
Representatives of Georgian National Bicycle Federation, athletes and coaches of Georgia took participation in this event.
Before the start of the bicycle ride, it was noted that World Bicycle Day, widely celebrated in all countries of the world, was established by the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on the initiative of Turkmenistan. It has a special place in the national calendar. This date symbolizes the triumph the high principles of friendship and peace, sports and humanism, the unity and cohesion of society.
It was also emphasized that Turkmenistan pays great attention to the development of physical culture and sports, large-scale work is being carried out to improve the health of citizens and to educate a physically strong young generation. Special attention is paid to the development of cycling and holding a mass bike ride has become a good tradition not only in Turkmenistan, but also around the world.
The participants of the bicycle ride noted that this sports event is another step in strengthening friendship and cooperation between our countries, as well as promoting sport and a healthy lifestyle.
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held a massive cycling race dedicated to the World Bicycle Day
On May 29, 2021, Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia with the assistance of Georgian National bicycle federation held the massive cycling race dedicated to the World Bicycle Day, 30th Anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan, 140th Anniversary of Ashgabat, as well as the proclamation of 2021 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
Representatives of Georgian National bicycle federation, athletes and coaches of Georgia took participation in this event, which was covered by the local media.
Before the cyclingrace began, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Georgia noted in his speech that the World Bicycle Day, widely celebrated in all countries of the world, was established by the United Nations General Assembly Resolution on the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. As the President of Turkmenistan noted, it is a celebration that highlights the importance of such enduring values as peace and solidarity, health and spirituality. Online conference dedicated to Magtymguly Pyragy was held in Tbilisi
In preparation for the celebration of the 300th birthday Anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy, on May 17, 2021, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held an online conference.
Representatives of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations accredited in Georgia, the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, the Creative Union of Writers of Georgia, as well as representatives of the media took part in this event.
The speakers noted that the creative work of the great poet-humanist Magtymguly Pyragy, which had a significant impact on the development of not only literature, but also on the spiritual life of the peoples of the East, has been translated into many languages and is the heritage of world culture.
During the conference, it was also emphasized that Turkmenistan is already actively working on preparations for the celebration of the 300th birthday anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy.
The events planned for the forthcoming anniversary will contribute to the further study and wide popularization in the world of the richest literary heritage of the great Turkmen poet-philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy.
This event will be another step in further strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, relations of friendship and mutual understanding between our countries and peoples.
At the end of the event, a film was shown dedicated to the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy.
Turkmen diplomatic mission to Georgia organizes golf tournament
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Tbilisi together with Alliance for development of amateur and corporate sports of Georgia have held International golf tournament dedicated to declaration of 2021 as the Year of Peace and Trust.
Representatives of diplomatic corps, business circles of Georgia, sportsmen from various countries took part in the tournament. Local media was highlighting this sport event.
It was noted before the tournament that development of sports of highest achievements and integrated events for popularization of the principles of healthy life style in Turkmenistan under close attention of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Ashgabat and all the country have strong modern infrastructure including all necessary for going in for various sports. After opening of the first in the country golf club, which project has been developed taking into account the best foreign practice, this sport received impulse for the development.
The award ceremony of the winners took place after the tournament.
The diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in Tbilisi organizes Futsal Tournament
On April 5, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held a futsal tournament dedicated to the World Health Day. The competition brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as Georgian athletes.
Those speaking during the tournament opening ceremony, it was noted that 2021, declared, according to the Resolution of the UN General Assembly, the International Year of Peace and Trust, was held in Turkmenistan under the motto “Turkmenistan - Homeland of Peace and Trust”.
It was also emphasized that comprehensive work is carried out in Turkmenistan to popularize the principles of healthy lifestyle, develop sports, and strengthen international cooperation in this area.
At the end of the tournament, commemorative prizes were awarded to the winners.
Online meeting of Turkmen and Georgian experts on the study of medicinal properties of licorice root
On 19 March 2021, with the assistance of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia, there was an online meeting of Turkmen and Georgian experts on the study of medicinal properties of licorice root.
From the Turkmen Side, the meeting was attended by the representatives of “Turkmendermansenagal” Association of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, from the Georgian Side - by the representatives of Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Agricultural University of Georgia.
During the meeting, participants exchanged views on the medical properties of licorice and its active substance - glycyrrhizic acid. As is known, the licorice root has long been used by people for treatment of upper respiratory tract diseases.
It was also noted that the relevant scientific research of the scientists have confirmed the therapeutic and prophylactic effect of medicines from licorice, as well as glycyrrhizic acid.
In this regard, both parties stressed the importance of further research the properties of this plant and expressed their readiness to actively cooperate in this direction.

They noted that having declared itself to be a neutral State, Turkmenistan adheres to the principles of good-neighbourliness, mutual respect, justice and equality and implements a foreign policy aimed at universal peace, security and well-being throughout the world. It was highlighted that Turkmenistan strongly believes in the future of the UN and will continue to strengthen and build up strategic partnership with this organization, thereby making its contribution to unlocking its inexhaustible potential in the interests of global peace, security and progress.
During the conference, it was also noted that another book of the President of Turkmenistan “Spiritual world of Turkmens” that has been published, will be interesting and useful to a wide readership.
