The EU-funded European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) is to organise an Interagency Conference on 8-9 November in Georgian city Kutaisi to discuss lessons learned, methodologies, key findings and the experience of EU assistance in regional development.
The conference will bring together ENPARD actors in Georgia, as well as representatives of government and non-governmental organisations to discuss the development and progress of the Cooperative Development Component in reducing rural poverty in Georgia through support to rural development and agriculture.
Launched in 2012, the EU-funded ENPARD programme aims to boost the production of food and to reduce rural poverty in Georgia. Besides its grants component, the programme also provides direct budget support to the Georgian government for the implementation of its agriculture sector strategy, and brings expertise and know-how to the authorities.
