THE HEAD OF TURKMENISTAN DEFINED THE PRIORITIES FOR EFFECTIVE INTERACTION AT THE INTERNATIONAL FORUM IN SEOUL

Today, on November 18, during his video address to the participants of the International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the need of further expansion of mutually beneficial dialogue in promising areas of interest.

The Head of Turkmenistan also drew participants’ attention to the most relevant issues of regional agenda and prospects of the development of mutually beneficial partnership in Eurasia. Turkmen-Korean relationship performance in bilateral and multilateral formats was underlined.

Development of effective trade-economic, energy ties, transport-transit corridors became another theme for the discussions.

In his speech the President of Turkmenistan, having noted the significance of the development of cooperation in the sphere of health protection, “green growth”, food security, emphasized the need for activation of a joint work with authoritative international and regional structures.

He also noted great prospects for multilateral activities in the sphere of humanitarian interaction. “The year of 2021 declared by the UN General Assembly on Turkmenistan’s initiative as the Year of Peace and Trust, is coming to an end. This initiative was based on the desire to attract attention of the world community to the need of strengthening of the peace culture and respectful dialogue, eliminating the trust deficit in interstate relations”, said the President of Turkmenistan.

Expanding human contacts through historical, cultural and educational ties, which were also identified as a priority of the Republic of Korea’s New Northern Economic Policy, is put forward as a solution to a common problem.

    During the meeting of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) on December 5, 2023, Turkmenistan was unanimously elected to the Commission on Population and Development for the term 2024-2028.

    With strong support from the Council’s members, Turkmenistan now extends its membership in the Commission for the next consecutive period continuing its terms of 2016-2020 and 2020-2024.

  • The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the work of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage

    From 5 to 9 December 2023, the 18th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage is taking place in Kasane, Republic of Botswana.

    The delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Ch. Rustemova took part in this session.

    On December 5, 2023, as part of the event, based on broad consensus, without voting, the above Committee unanimously decided to include the nomination of Turkmenistan “The Art of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding and the Traditions of Horse Decoration” in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage humanity.

    After the decision was made, the delegation of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to the members of the Committee and representatives of delegations for supporting the nomination of Turkmenistan and made a presentation on the Art of Akhal-Teke horse breeding and the tradition of horse decoration, which was warmly received by the evaluation commission of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

  • Туркменистан избран в Комиссию ООН по народонаселению и развитию на 2024-2028 годы

    5 декабря 2023 года в ходе очередного заседания Экономического и Социального Совета ООН (ЭКОСОС) Туркменистан был единогласно избран в состав Комиссии по народонаселению и развитию на период 2024-2028 годов.

    Благодаря поддержке членов Совета Туркменистан в настоящее время выполняет функции члена Комиссии в течение двух последовательных сроков: 2016-2020 и 2020-2024 годы.

    Комиссия по народонаселению и развитию (CPD) является одной из десяти функциональных комиссий ЭКОСОС, являясь контролирующим, координирующим и консультативным органом Совета по таким вопросам, как проблемы и тенденции в области народонаселения и статистики, интеграция глобальных стратегий в этой сфере в национальные и региональные программы и планы.

    Постоянным секретариатом комиссии является Отдел народонаселения Департамента ООН по экономическим и социальным вопросам.

    Руководители Государственного комитета Туркменистана по статистике ежегодно принимают участие в сессиях Комиссии в г.Нью-Йорке.

  • Делегация Туркменистана приняла участие в работе Межправительственного комитета ЮНЕСКО по охране нематериального культурного наследия

    С 5 по 9 декабря 2023 года, в городе Касане, Республика Ботсвана, проходит 18-ая сессия Межправительственного комитета ЮНЕСКО по охране нематериального культурного наследия.

    В работе данной сессии приняла участие делегация Туркменистана во главе с Ответственным секретарем Национальной комиссии Туркменистана по делам ЮНЕСКО Ч.Рустемовой.

    5 декабря 2023 года, в рамках мероприятия, на основе широкого консенсуса, без проведения голосования вышеуказанный Комитет единогласно принял решение о включении номинации Туркменистана «Искусство Ахалтекинского коневодства и традиции украшения коней» в Репрезентативный список нематериального культурного наследия человечества.

    После принятия решения делегация Туркменистана выразила признательность членам Комитета и представителям делегаций за поддержку номинации Туркменистана и провела презентацию об Искусстве Ахалтекинского коневодства и традиции украшения коней, которая была тепло принята оценочной комиссией Межправительственного комитета по охране нематериального культурного наследия.

  • Koka Katsitadze Hosted The Public Defender And The Delegation Of Turkmenistan

    The head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze and his deputy, Natia Songhulashvili, met with the Public Defender and the delegation of Turkmenistan.

    The head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze, informed the delegation about the activities and ongoing reforms within the framework of the extended mandate of the Service.

    At the meeting, the cooperation of the independent investigation service withthe Public Defender Office was highlighted.

    The Georgian side shared the detailed positive cooperation experience of the Special Investigation Service with the Ombudsman Office of Georgia to effectively perform the functions of the National Prevention Mechanism (NPM).
