2017 Military servicemen participated in a Peace Marathon

In celebration of the 69th jubilee since the foundation of International Military Sports Council (CISM), a Peace Marathon on a 3km distance along the Lisi Lake was conducted. The Spots Service of General Staff Administration of the Georgian Armed Forces organized the sports event with participation of around 50 military servicemen from all the military units.
The 1st Class Private of I Infantry Brigade Giorgi Lomidze took the 1st place. IV Mechanized Brigade military serviceman Corporal Beqa Guledani occupied the 2nd place and Corporal of the same Brigade Giorgi Shenkenashvili -the 3rd place. The soldiers were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals. The 1st place winner of the sports competition was also granted the Winner`s Cup.
The Georgian Armed Forces became the member of IMSC from 1994 and are taking part in all the sporting competitions held under the aegis of the Council on an annual basis. CISM is one of the largest multi-discipline organizations providing an organizational support for the armed forces of its 134 member countries to conduct different tournaments.
