NATO Military Committee continues an official visit to Georgia arriving at the Joint Training and Evaluation Centre (JTEC). Chairman of MC General Petr Pavel is leading the delegation of senior NATO military representatives. Chief of the General Staff of the GAF Brigadier General Vladiemer Chachibaia hosted the NATO representatives in JTEC.
Before starting the working part of the visit, on behalf of Military Committee, General Petr Pavel laid the wreath on the memorial of heroes fallen in peacekeeping operations.
The leaders of JTEC projects COL Grigol Chelidze and LTC Marius Nilsen offered the presentation about the Centre activity to the MC Chairman and military representatives. From the Georgian side, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff COL Nikoloz Janjgava, Head of the Georgian Mission to NATO Aleksandre Maisuradze, Georgia`s Military Representative to NATO Major General Vakhtang Kapanadze and JTEC project leader COL Grigol Chelidze greeted the visitors in the JTEC.
At the end of the visit in JTEC, the NATO delegation members attended the pre-deployment demonstrative training of the Resolute Support Mission to Afghanistan. “Bravo” Company of 12th Battalion of I Infantry Brigade of the GAF fulfilled a motorized patrol operation. According to the training scenario, on detecting the threat, the military servicemen decided to inspect the territory dismounted from vehicles. The military unit after appearing in an unexpected ambush responded to a direct fire. After neutralizing the threat, the wounded military servicemen were evacuated.
