TELEPHONE CONVERSATION WAS HELD BETWEEN THE PRESIDENTS OF TURKMENISTAN AND THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN
On December 21, 2020, a telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During a constructive conversation, the heads of the two friendly states exchanged views on the state and prospects of interstate cooperation, which meets the fundamental interests of the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples. The parties also discussed the priority areas of the international and regional agenda.
As noted, regular mutual contacts at the highest and other levels are a clear indicator of mutual trust and respect. All this gives a powerful impetus to the progressive development of interstate relations.
During the dialogue, the Turkmen leader congratulated his Uzbek counterpart on the successful holding of the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of States and emphasized the successful chairmanship of Uzbekistan in this structure in 2020.
As President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted, Turkmenistan highly appreciates bilateral relations with the fraternal Republic of Uzbekistan and attaches great importance to the development of comprehensive cooperation with a neighboring state and a reliable partner.
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, thanking for the kind words, noted that the outgoing year had passed under the sign of the 25th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, which served to strengthen the foundations of its independence and role on the political map of the world. The high authority of the Turkmen leader has once again confirmed the fact that the world community, represented by the UN General Assembly, unanimously supported his initiative to declare 2021 the International Year of Peace and Trust.
At the end of the telephone conversation, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev exchanged congratulations on the upcoming New Year 2021, addressing the peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan with wishes of peace, prosperity, prosperity and great success in all good endeavors.

During telephone conversation, the President of Turkmenistan and the Emir of Qatar have stated high level of interstate dialog, which is successfully developed owing to mutual goodwill of the sides, having highlighted the presence of wide perspectives for intensification of beneficial cooperation in priority directions.
In this regard, the intent of both countries to strengthen productive trade and economic partnership, to promote close business contacts in various spheres has been confirmed.
Oil and gas sector, transport and communication sphere, chemical and textile industry, trade and investments, which have big opportunities for long-term cooperation and implementation of joint projects, have been outlined among perspective directions of cooperation.
At the same time, it was highlighted that traditional cooperation in humanitarian and cultural field, which is based on similarity of historical roots, spiritual and cultural values of both nations, is an integral part of Turkmen – Qatari relations.
Having exchanged the views on current issues of regional and global agenda, the sides highlighted the commitment of Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar to long partnership under competent international organizations, where our countries demonstrate mutual support of constructive proposals and initiatives.
Turkmen leader has invited the Head of friendly state to make and official visit to our country at any convenient time. The invitation has been accepted with gratitude. The time of the visit will be agreed through diplomatic channels.
In the end of the telephone conversation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani have confirmed mutual intent of the sides to develop fruitful interstate dialog in all directions, having wished health and success to each other and peace, wealth and prosperity to fraternal nations of both countries.

Today, I had a very good conversation with U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen. We discussed all key issues of the U.S.- Georgia strategic partnership, as well as the ways to enhance our robust cooperation. Our strategic partnership is at the highest level and is based on common values and shared geostrategic interests.
I thanked Senator Van Hollen for U.S. Senate’s support to our country in light of progress made by Georgia in the process of democratic consolidation. Senator emphasized Georgia’s significant contribution to the NATO mission in Afghanistan. We expressed readiness to continue working together in order to further strengthen our strategic partnership.
We have also discussed Russia’s continuous occupation of, and the difficult security and humanitarian situation in Georgia’s occupied territories. The Senator once again reiterated the bipartisan support of the U.S. Congress to territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.
