Anti-corruption Agency under State Security Service of Georgia alongside General Inspection under Ministry of Corrections and Probation as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained inspector Natela Jincharadze, the employee of Rustavi N16 establishment under the Ministry of Corrections and Probation for attempted swindling in large quantities by misusing her powers.
Investigation established, that Natela Jincharadze promised a citizen to give assistance in early release of a prisoner in N 17 Rustavi establishment and in return demanded and received 7 000 USD when she was detained.
Investigation is carried out on the fact of attempted swindling. (Article 19-180 part III subparagraph “A” and “B”, which envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment. Investigation is carried out by Anti-corruption Agency under State Security Service of Georgia.
“Within its competence and through cooperation with Anti-corruption Agency under State Security Service of Georgia, General Inspection under Ministry of Corrections and Probation carried out the crime prevention activities. Relevant agencies under the Ministry were actively involved in the operative-searching activities and implemented every necessary measure in order to solve the case. Ministry of Corrections and Probation will closely cooperate with law enforcement agencies in future in terms of crime prevention within its system” - Amiran Kartvelishvili, head of General Inspection under Ministry of Corrections and Probation stated.
The officers of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department of the MIA as a result of operative-investigation activities detained Maia B. (D.o.B.: 1968) and Nana Sh. (D.o.B.: 1980) in Zugdidi for attempted swindling.
Investigation established that the detainees deceived one of the refugees as if they had an influential acquaintance at the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees who would assist him in receiving an apartment. For the mentioned favor detainees demanded and extorted 2000 USD from the refugee.
Law enforcers detained Maia B and Nana Sh in several minutes from the moment of extortion money. Police seized 2000 USD as evidence during personal search of Maia B. Both of the detainees have already pleaded guilty.
The investigation department of the Ministry of Finance revealed the fact of swindling of agricultural land. It was worth of1 013 390 Gel.
The investigation revealed that the accused: Mary Dzuliashvili, Marine Nadiradze, Ana Magradze and Tsisana Gabunia had made criminal connection with the Former Chief of Gardabani State Property Registration and Privatization Division, Shota Didebashvili and Former Chief of NAPR Gardabani Registration Office Kakhaber Kareli. In 2001-2006 years, with the public officials, the defendants drew up a real estate purchase fake protocols and fraudulently received 11 hectares of land at Tbilisi Sea territory.
