A delegation of the Italian Defence Forces headed by the Chief of the International Relations Service of the Italian Defense Staff, Brigadier General David Morpurgo is paying visit to Georgia.
The representatives of the Department of International Relations and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the MoD of Georgia and the General Staff of the Defence Forces hosted the members of the Italian delegation at the Ministry of Defence. During the meeting, the sides discussed bilateral cooperation issues in the field of defence and the future plans of partnership.
The Georgian side thanked the Italian delegation members for Italy's support of Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic integration aspirations. The topics highlighted during the meeting included security in the region and transformation of GDF aimed at enhancing the national defensive capabilities and interoperability with NATO.
The discussions also focused on the successful implementation of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP), the contribution of Italy to the development of SNGP initiatives - the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) and the Defence Institution Building School (DIBS). Cooperation between the Military Police of GDF and the Italian Carabinieri Corps, including in the field of education were also reviewed.
At the end of the meeting, a bilateral cooperation plan for 2021 was signed between the Ministries of Defence of Italy and Georgia, which will set out the cooperation areas for the current year. Bilateral documents signing ceremony was held during Turkmen – Singapore business forum.
The following documents have been signed:
The Agreement on Cooperation between the State Bank of Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and Bank Association of Singapore and the Agreement on Cooperation between the State Bank of Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and DBS Bank Ltd. (Development Bank of Singapore);
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of textile Industry and Indorama Corporation Pte. Ltd.;
In addition, Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Trade and Industrial Chamber of Turkmenistan and Singapore Business Federation. The Memorandum of Understanding between Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management and the Institute of Management Development of Singapore has also been signed.
The same document was signed by the Ministry of Industry and Communication of Turkmenistan and Singapore Company Pacific International Lines Pte. Ltd, which have agreed on cooperation in transport and logistics.
Two Memoranda of Understanding was signed by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan with Vallianz Holdings and Sun Connect Pte. Ltd.
The second part of business forum was dedicated to industrial complex and transport sphere of Turkmenistan and to cooperation in these sections including with participation of business communities.

H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met with H.E. Andrej Kiska, President of the Republic of Slovakia in New York.
Discussion was focused on the topics envisaged within 71st Session of the UN General Assembly, bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Slovakia, along with the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Georgia.
Prime Minister of Georgia noted that success achieved by the country towards the visa liberalization has been acknowledged by the European leaders at many occasions. Head of the Government of Georgia (GOG) expressed hopes for getting support of the Parliament of Europe towards the visa liberalization, whereby Slovakia would contribute to this process within the scope of its Presidency of the Council of Europe (Council of the European Union). Parties noted that cooperation between the two countries has been developing actively in the recent period in different areas of interaction.
Parties also expressed optimism that economic links and trade volumes will increase between the two countries.
Prime Minister of Georgia conveyed his gratitude to the President of the Republic of Slovakia for his support in the country's aspirations towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.
During his visit to Georgia President of Slovakia Andrej Kiska was hosted at the official dinner by Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
The sides discussed main aspects of bilateral cooperation, emphasized the importance of deepening trade and economic relations and expressed hope that Georgian-Slovak Business Forum will foster deepening partnership.
The conversation also concerned the European and Euro-Atlantic integration agenda and progress achieved in this regard. President of Slovakia reasserted steadfast support of Slovakia in pursuing Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic ambitions.
