Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia accompanied by his graceful spouse – Nunuka Tamazashvili – paid tribute to victims of a helicopter accident at a Public Funeral Ceremony today, as pilots of MIA Border Protection Police, emergency rescue squad and medical doctors were killed in a devastating crash occurring in a high terrain region of the country.

The Head of Government of Georgia paid homage to the memory of victims and expressed his condolences to their mourning families at the Trinity Cathedral.
A memorial service for the souls of the fallen was performed by the Patriarchal Locum Tenens Metropolitan Shio Mujiri of Senaki and Chkhorotsku along with the cathedral priests.
Prime Minister of Georgia was accompanied to the Trinity Cathedral by Mme Salome Zourabichvili, President of Georgia; MP Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia; Kakha Kaladze, Mayor of Tbilisi and officials from the executive, legislative and local authorities of the country.

Today, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

Irakli Garibashvili welcomed Arayik Harutyunyan’s working visit to Georgia and commended the high level of political dialogue between Georgia and Armenia. The meeting underlined the dynamic development of the relations between the two countries as a good foundation for enhanced cooperation in the future.
Arayik Harutyunyan thanked the Prime Minister of Georgia for warm welcome and passed on heartfelt greetings from Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia pointed out Armenia’s keen interest in deepening cooperation with Georgia across a variety of areas and in furthering the bilateral agenda.
The parties discussed various issues from the Georgia-Armenia cooperation agenda, also touching on the situation in the region. Irakli Garibashvili sent reciprocal warm greetings to Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met Abdulla Shahid, President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 76) today.

Dignitaries discussed the active topics of cooperation between Georgia and the United Nations within the scope of the UN General Assembly.
Focus was made on the current situation witnessed in the occupied regions of Georgia and the significant role of the UN in the peaceful resolution of the conflict. The Prime Minister of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the President of UNGA76 for the solid support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.
Focus was made on peace and security, human rights, sustainable development and gender equality.

Georgian Prime Minister’s meeting with IMF Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department

Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with the Jihad Azour, Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The meeting focused on the close cooperation between Georgia and the IMF, with a special emphasis on the new program recently approved by the IMF, especially in light of the situation in the region.
The parties discussed the country's economic situation and macroeconomic parameters, underlining that Georgia maintains positive dynamics, with the average economic growth in January-May reaching 11.2%.
Irakli Garibashvili highlighted concrete directions prioritized by the Georgian government, including the importance of energy independence, reinforcing infrastructure, ensuring food safety, and implementing structural reforms.
The Prime Minister thanked Jihad Azour for support and the work carried out by the IMF for the benefit of Georgia.

Prime Minister participates in NATO Summit in Madrid

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, together with the Georgian delegation, took part in today's special meeting of the North Atlantic Council within the scope of the NATO Summit in Madrid. Besides the Alliance's member states, the session's participants included the leaders of Finland, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea, and senior EU officials. The meeting discussed some of the challenges facing the global security architecture and the security environment emerging in the Euro-Atlantic space, with emphasis on the need to further the cooperation among NATO member and partner states in order to join forces toward helping maintain rules-based international order. The meeting also discussed the events unfolding in Ukraine. The importance of assisting Ukraine against the ongoing military aggression was also highlighted.

The Prime Minister of Georgia spoke about the worsening security situation in the Black Sea Region and Georgia's steps in light of these circumstances. The Prime Minister, in his speech, underlined the unprecedentedly high level of practical cooperation between Georgia and NATO over the past few years, also expressing hope that the country's progress in implementing reforms will have a positive impact on Georgia's path toward membership.

Several important documents have been adopted at the Madrid Summit, including the new Strategic Concept of NATO 2030, the Madrid Summit Declaration, and the Tailored Support Document for Georgia. Notably, all three documents contain issues of critical importance to Georgia. In particular, they reaffirm the decision made at the Bucharest Summit on Georgia's eventual NATO membership, also reinforcing NATO's open door policy, Georgia's status as an aspirant country, and the Alliance's unwavering support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The issue of Georgia is reflected in detail in the new Strategic Concept of NATO, the Alliance's guideline document in the course of the next ten years.

Notably, the Tailored Support Document for Georgia, approved at the summit, sets forth concrete measures for furthering Georgia's defense capabilities and enhancing NATO's effective engagement in this process.

The European Council's decision to grant EU membership perspective to Georgia and the close partnership between the two countries were the key topics discussed during today's meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Péter Szijjártó, Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Irakli Garibashvili thanked Péter Szijjártó for clearly endorsing the EU membership candidate status for Georgia, also emphasizing his gratitude to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for his principled position.

The Head of Government underlined that the European Commission's opinion on Georgia's European perspective has been made official, and based on the European Commission's recommendation, the European Council reaffirmed it.

According to the Prime Minister, the Government of Georgia continues working on every reform on the Association Agenda and will finalize every obligation assumed in the direction of democratic reforms.

Irakli Garibashvili thanked Péter Szijjártó for supporting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. In response, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary reaffirmed firm support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for the country's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

The meeting also emphasized the successful cooperation between Georgia and Hungary across a variety of areas, with the parties expressing commitment to furthering this partnership.

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of Qatari Businessmen Association within the scope of his visit to the State of Qatar today. Dignitaries reviewed the cooperation between Georgia and Qatar in the areas of economy, trade and investments. Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani expressed readiness to visit Georgia in the nearest future and personally witness the investment potential of the country.

Prime Minister of Georgia and Chairman of Qatari Businessmen Association inaugurated a Georgian Corner at the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum at the end of the meeting.

The Georgian section is located at a visible place within the Museum and displays Georgian national and historic exhibits.

A permanent Georgian section has thus been established at one of the most remarkable museums of Qatar and exposition of Georgian exhibits will significantly facilitate the promotion of Georgian culture, history and art in the State of Qatar.

Solid support of the USA towards Georgia, strategic partnership between the two nations and integration into the European and Euro-Atlantic structures were among the key topics of discussion by and between Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia and Karen Donfried, Assistant US Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs today.

The Head of Government of Georgia noted that the visit of the senior US official is yet another clear message about the unwavering support of the USA towards Georgia, which is profoundly appreciated. According to him, Georgia remains to be the most reliable and loyal ally of the USA both in the region and beyond.

Focus was made at the meeting on the significance of greater intensity of US-Georgia strategic partnership, inter alia including the further activation of a high-level political dialogue between the two countries, as well as in defense and security, trade, commerce and investments.

Steadfast and firm support of the USA towards the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia was reiterated at the meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia, along with the encouraged European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Fatma Ceren Yazgan, Turkey's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia.

The farewell meeting with the Ambassador discussed the good-neighborly relations between the two countries and ways to further their strategic partnership.
