The Newly Appointed Ambassador of Estonia Awarded Credentials to the President of Georgia
The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Estonia to Georgia, Mrs. Kai Kaarelson has awarded credentials to the President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili. Following the official ceremony of awarding the credentials, the President held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador.
The sides have discussed the current friendly relations between Georgia and Estonia and the plans for the future cooperation. The discussion has also involved the importance of the exchange visits between the two countries. On behalf of the President of Estonia, H.E. Kersti Kaljulaid, Mrs. Kai Kaarelson thanked the President for his sincere congratulatory letter on the occasion of her election and for his kind invitation to Georgia.
The newly appointed Ambassador has once again expressed her support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, the country’s non-recognition policy, and the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. The President wished success to the Ambassador in her future career.
The President of Georgia held a public lecture on the importance of elections
The President of Georgia held a public lecture on the importance of elections, voter turnout and civic duties in Akhaltsikhe, Samtskhe-Javakheti State University. Giorgi Margvelashvili was hosted by the Rector Merab Beridze. They discussed projects financed by reserve funds of President of Georgia.
According to the Presidential Administration, in the frames of collaboration memorandum, Internetization of academic and administrative corpuses has made since 2014. Medical conference was also hold.
According to reports, Giorgi Margvelashvili answered student’s questions on Euro Integration of Georgia, attitudes to the electoral process, activeness of President in pre election period and project implemented and planned by him.
Levan Bodzashvili will be the Acting Security Council Secretary of Georgia
Levan Bodzashvili will be the Acting Security Council Secretary of Georgia. He was the Deputy Security Council Secretary when Irina Imerlishvili was on post. Bodzashvili has also begun his job.
According to the Presidential Administration, Levan Bodzashvili will be the Acting Security Council Secretary until the President of Georgia appoints new Secretary.
According to reports, the President of Georgia has already issues an order.

It is with great sorrow that I have learnt about passing away of the former President of Israel, H.E. Mr. Shimon Peres. This is the great loss for the humanity and the entire world. On behalf of the Georgian people and on my own behalf, allow me to extend to You, to the government and to the friendly Israeli people my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy. H.E. Mr. Shimon Peres was outstanding leader who played historical role to achieve stability and security in the most challenging period for Israel. He was a great politician who dedicated his life to the peaceful resolution of the conflicts and was awarded with the Nobel Prize for forging peace. I believe that Israeli people will always remember his tireless efforts towards stability of his country. Let me outline that Georgian people also lost a great friend, who played important role in the enhancement of historical friendship between our nations. I am deeply convinced that his remarkable legacy will stay alive for many decades and will be honored by the generations to come. I would also kindly request You to convey my deepest condolences and solidarity to the family of H.E. Mr. Shimon Peres. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

The Letter of the President of Georgia to the First Year University Students
The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has sent the congratulation letter to the freshmen students, on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year and urged them to participate in the upcoming Parliamentary elections.
“Soon you will face another important occasion in your lives – the parliamentary elections. Your civic engagement and your voice have the equal importance as your knowledge. You have successfully passed the academic exams and I believe that you will take your civic action with the same responsibility”, - was stated in the letter of congratulation of the President.
The Presidential letter with the similar content has also been sent to the first-graders of the University of Gori, whom the President has personally met today.
Russian-Georgian relations discussed by Giorgi Margvelashvili in Slovenia
As soon as the occupation issue will be solved, we are ready to be in good neighborly relations with Russia – The President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili said after the meeting with Slovenian Counterpart. Giorgi Margvelashvili highlighted Russian-Georgian relations and noted that Georgia will never accept the occupation.
“Russia had occupied two regions of Georgia and our policy is clear: we will never accept the occupation and this is the most important problem for us. We are waiting for the time when Russian politicians will be ready for dialogue with us,”-Giorgi Margvelashvili said.
Congress member Teimuraz Chkuaseli joins Legislate Peace Campaign
In Tbilisi, Mr. Teimuraz Chkuaseli of Georgia Dream party joined the signature campaign to support the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War of Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light. Teimuraz Chkuaseli, a member of Georgia Dream party and chairperson of the committee which deals with issues of diaspora and Caucasus has written books to deliver the message of peace to refugees in Caucasus. Also he said that peace is such a crucial matter to Georgia which persevered the history of invasion with its unique culture and customs on his video to support the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War.
Also he said “For Georgians who have been wishing for peace for a long time, it is a pleasure that the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War of HWPL exists.” HWPL Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War which is a declaration of international law proposed by members of HWPL international law and peace committee and proclaimed on 14 March 2016 in Seoul, South Korea in front of political leaders, chief justices, media and people with international reputations.
The declaration which is the initial stage of submitting practical international law for the cessation of war contains articles to complement blind spots of the existing international law. HWPL which presented the international law declaration is an international peace group working with different kinds of leaders as well as women and youths who are the center of public opinion. In September, 2014 HWPL has hosted the World Alliance of Religions' Peace Summit attended by 2,000 international leaders which was followed by the enactment of international law agreement ceremony. After one year, HWPL International law and peace committee which consists of former ,and current presidents, the chairman of the UN International law commission and international legal experts presented international law draft. 6 months later they proclaimed the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War on 14 March 2016. The declaration above has contents to urge policies to solve religious conflicts and to spread the culture of peace as well as calling for the support of presidents of respective countries, which will also be sent to Mr. Giorgi Margvelashvili, the current president of Georgia.
The President of Georgia will sign the amnesty law today
The President of Georgia will sign the amnesty law today which was adopted by the parliament on 24 June, 2016.
As the press speaker of President of Georgia Eka Mishveladze said at press conference today, according to law more than 70 years old man (accused and convicted) and more than 65 years old woman (accused and convicted) will be free.
Accoriding to Eka Mishveladze, concrete statistics of number of amnestied people is not known for her.
Georgia will not try to solve problems by military way - President Margvelashvili
The President of Georgia reaffirmed that Georgia will not try to solve its problems by the military way. This statement was made by Giorgi Margvelashvili at OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's 25th annual session. He called on all sides to get involved in the settlement process of the situation.
“I am proud that such important session, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's 25th annual session holds in our country. In the country which made historical choice 25 years ago and said that wants to be modern, democratic, human rights-based European country. The way of protection of human rights, cooperation and negotiation are the values which united the mankind 4 decades ago. Helsinki process was resulted by it. Georgia is active participant of OSCE process and we believe that any problem should be solved by the way of negotiations,”-Giorgi Margvelashvili said.
PACE President to make official visit to Georgia
Strasbourg, 29.06.2016 – Pedro Agramunt, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will make an official visit to Georgia on 30 June-1 July 2016, during which he is due to meet the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Parliament, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Georgian delegation to PACE.
Mr Agramunt will also participate in the 25th Annual Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, to be held in Tbilisi on the theme “25 years of parliamentary cooperation: building trust through dialogue”. In this context, he will address the Assembly at its Opening plenary session and will meet the OSCE PA President.
PACE President Pedro Agramunt and the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, David Usupashvili, will make a joint statement to the press on Friday 1 July at 6.15 pm, at the Exhibition Centre “Expo Georgia”, Akaki Tsereteli Ave. 118, Tbilisi (Hall 3, Speaker’s VIP Office).
