Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met with the newly-appointed Head of the NATO Liaison Office, Rosaria Puglisi.
The Minister congratulated Rosaria Puglisi on her appointment wishing her success in her future endeavours. Discussions focused on various aspects of Georgia-NATO co-operation, including the implementation of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP) and the preparation for the NATO Summit in 2018.
Special attention was paid to the important role the NATO Liaison Office plays in terms of facilitating Georgia’s integration with NATO, as well as promoting communication with the population.
According to Rosaria Puglisi, the priority during her term of office will be assisting Georgia in moving closer to the Alliance. She reaffirmed NATO’s firm support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
On invitation from US Vice President Mike Pence, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili will hold an official visit to the United States of America on May 8-10.
During the visit, a meeting between the Head of Georgian Government and US Vice President Mike Pence will be held at the White House. Giorgi Kvirikashvili will be also hosted by US State Secretary Rex Tillerson at the State Department.
In addition, the Prime Minister of Georgia will meet with the chairs of different committees at US Senate. During the US visit, Giorgi Kvirikashvili will have meetings with leading US experts as well.
The Georgian delegation includes Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze, the Prime Minister's Foreign Adviser Tedo Japaridze, and First Deputy Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani.
Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Georgia Giorgi Gogadze and employees of Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia took part in entertaining-cognitive event held for the children with autism spectrum related to international Autism Awareness Day.
40 children gathered in Mtatsminda Park were given possibility to participate in different entertaining programs. The children saw the performance of puppet theatre “Little Red Riding Hood”, after which they painted on the asphalt with colorful chalks. Children with Autism Spectrum had fun on various carousels and also with famous Disney characters. In the end of the event, children cut the cake and let the balloons off in the sky together with Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Georgia Giorgi Gogadze.
Event for the children with autism spectrum was also held in the previous year by the organization of the Chief Prosecutor’s Office. Prosecution service of Georgia expresses its support towards the children with autism spectrum, will protect their legal rights and interests and promote their equal and full participation in society life.
The Office of National Forum was robbed yesterday. The office is on Tsotne Dadiani Street, in Nadzaladevi District. According to the member of National Movement Ani Mirotadze, the investigation is underway. As she said, the motive of the robber may be is political.
The computers have been stolen from the office. The experts and criminals are working now.
In the General Prosecutor’s office was held a meeting between the General Prosecutor Irakli Shotadze and chairman of the constitutional court Giorgi Papuashvili. Giorgi Papuashvili presented the General Prosecutor with information regarding the latter’s public announcements, in his turn Irakli Shotadze spoke with the chairman regarding the ongoing investigation and pointed out that all necessary actions and measures will be utilized in the criminal case so that objective justice may be achieved and the two with the above mentioned aim agreed on coordinated cooperation.
We would like to remind our society that in the investigative part of our General Prosecutor’s office an investigation is ongoing regaring the execution of of case revision in the constitutional court in relation to facts of illegal intervention into court business also regarding facts of illegal obtainment and possible utilization of private life secrets in accordance with article 364 part II and article 1571 part I.
Ethnically Azerbaijani citizens of Georgia have gathered in front of Prosecutors's Office and accuse the prosecutor's office of patronizing a police officer and demand to investigate the case of fraudulent activity.
They say that the officer promised them to give a car in return of 30 000 USD, but appropriated money.
