On February 11, 2022, under the chairmanship of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, an extraordinary meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty (People's Council) of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan was held.
The meeting was attended by elected members of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, deputies of the Mejlis, heads of state authorities, political parties and public organizations, hyakims of velayats, etraps and cities, honorary elders of the people representatives of all segments of the population.
The agenda of the national forum, which became a landmark event in the life of the country, included a discussion of the priority tasks for the further comprehensive development of the Turkmen state and society, the steady implementation of progressive transformations and reforms, the key goal of which is to ensure a prosperous life for the people, lay a reliable foundation for the prosperity of the Motherland, counting on long term perspective.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the heads of ministries and departments of the country, as well as the hyakims of the velayats reported on the results of the work done for 2021.
As the President of Turkmenistan emphasized, one of the main issues of this important event is the determination of the main directions for the development of our independent state for 2022-2052 and the adoption of important decisions on the comprehensive development of the country for the next 30 years.
In the speech of the President of Turkmenistan, a special place was occupied by the main directions of development of the state and its institutions for the next 30 years. The head of state noted that the priority in this matter is to improve the living conditions of people, as well as to achieve stabilization of the macroeconomic state
Among the most important priorities for the further implementation of the progressive state policy, the Leader of the Nation outlined the use of all means for the stable development of the economy. In order to develop the non-state sector and transfer the economy to market relations, we also provide for broad support for entrepreneurship, the Head of State said.
The President also spoke about the importance of the foreign policy of the state and the high authority of Turkmenistan in the international arena.
As the Head of State emphasized, in the coming decades, in its foreign policy, Turkmenistan will focus priority efforts on five targeted strategic directions. These are as following: ensuring peace and security, developing and promoting neutrality on the world stage, steadily building up and diversifying foreign economic relations, promoting sustainable development in every way and promoting the humanization of international relations, bringing high standards of morality, ethic and justice to them.
Emphasizing that this is a task for decades to come, a long-term vector of our foreign policy, the Leader of the Nation stated that the fundamental, defining principles and approaches of the foreign policy line of the Turkmen state remain unchanged.
Within the framework of the meeting, the program "Revival of a new era of a sovereign state: the National program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052" was adopted.
On January 22, 2022, a meeting took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan Qian Naicheng.
During the talk the parties, having expressed satisfaction on the current pace of development of bilateral partnership on a broad range, highlighted that this year Turkmen-Chinese diplomatic relations entered the jubilee stage.
Within the framework of the meeting the issues connected to the forthcoming events on the highest level with the participation of the heads of states were discussed, particularly, the “China – Central Asian states” summit and the opening of XXIV Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.

On 13 October, the 3rd thematic group (Energy, Environment, Climate, Transport and Civil Protection) of the Georgia-EU Association Subcommittee on Economic and Sectoral Cooperation convened its 7th Session - chaired from the Georgian side by Davit Bujiashvili, Director of the EU Assistance Coordination and Sectoral Integration Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and from the EU side – by Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga, Deputy Head of Division, EaP Bilateral relations, EEAS.
The sides discussed the progress in implementing the obligations in the fields of transport, energy, environment, climate and civil protection undertaken by Georgia under the Association Agreement.
Representatives of the relevant EU institutions praised the reforms carried out by the Government of Georgia in the aforesaid areas, both in terms of legislative and institutional rapprochement.

On February 22, 2021, the meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Leader of the National Islamic Movement Party of Afghanistan Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum who arrived in Ashkhabad on a working visit.
During the constructive talks the sides exchanged views on the agenda of the effective Turkmen-afghan interaction. It was underlined the active development of bilateral ties with the aim of all-round implementation of the agreements reached on high level between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.
The Leader of the NIMP of Afghanistan especially underlined the efforts of Turkmenistan’s Leadership aimed at strengthening peace and security in the neighbor fraternal country as well as the integration of Afghanistan and its people into the stable channel of economic development.
In this context the initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan directed to the intensification and development of effective regional interaction with active involvement of the afghan side were highly appreciated.
The parties expressed adherence to the addition of joint efforts in rapid implementation of energy, communications, transport and other projects. In this regard it was expressed mutual interest to the timely and effective realization of the perspective project of TAPI gas pipeline, of the TAP transmission line and new routes of the railroad from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.
During the negotiations the sides highlighted the significance of the realization by Turkmenistan of large-scale infrastructure projects directed to the further development of Afghanistan and the whole region. As is known, the given projects are aimed at creation of cost-effective jobs as well as stimulating the growth of well-being of the population living along the implementation of megaprojects.
The Turkmen side confirmed once again its readiness to continue active dialogue aimed at advancement of peace inter-afghan negotiations, as well as to provide its political space for any of their future rounds.
In the course of the talks the patties agreed that it is necessary to strengthen and enhance the mechanisms of achieving peace, sustainable development, stability and security in the region as a whole.
The diplomat expressed the Czech Republic's unwavering support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for Georgia's European aspirations.
During the meeting, the Czech Ambassador echoed to Georgia's foreign policy priorities, including the application for EU membership in 2024, noting that full implementation of the Association Agreement in this regard is the right strategy.
The parties underlined the close cooperation between the countries in various fields. For her part, M. Botchorishvili expressed gratitude for the support provided by the Czech Republic to Georgia.
During the meeting, the issue of grasping the DCFTA between Georgia and the European Union was discussed. The sides discussed Georgia's export strategies to the EU and in this regard, and stressed the need for close cooperation between businesses.
M. Botchorishvili and P. Mikyska spoke about the dangers posed by disinformation and hybrid war in Georgia and noted that the support of the EU and partner countries in this direction is very important for the country.
The Introductory meeting focused on close cooperation between the two countries, including the enhancement of the parliamentary ties in the future.
“We tabled the important projects that the Czech Republic is implementing in different directions in Georgia. Their contribution to the equipment of the Rukhi Hospital is also great. We talked about the opportunities that will help us to make our cooperation even closer, including in the field of agriculture, which in turn will help our manufacturers to explore the European market. The guest expressed a desire to see Georgian agro-industrial products on the Czech market, which is very important for us. On the 19th of January 2021, an online meeting was held between the Turkmen delegation headed by the Minister of Healthcare and Medical Industry N.Amannepesov and the Head of the Institute for Virology of the Essen University Hospital (Germany) A.Krawczyk.
The heads and specialists of the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry, Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, “Turkmendermansenagat” Association, and the State Medical University named after M.Garriyev also participated to the meeting.
During the informative talk, an exchange of views took place concerning the medical properties of the liquorice and its active substance, namely the glycyrrhizic acid.
As known, the effectiveness of this element has been proven by the recent researches carried out by the Turkmen and foreign scientists.
In view of the pandemic of the new coronavirus, researches have started in the whole world aimed at the discovery and preparation of special antiviral medicines.
In this regard, the relevant scientific research of the scientists have confirmed the medioprophylactic action of the medicines prepared from the liquorice, as well as the glycyrrhizic acid which is present in liquorice in a large proportion.
Since the ancient times, the liquorice root has been used by people for treatment of upper respiratory tract diseases and taking into consideration its positive characteristics, the scientists of Turkmenistan continue to research the nature of this plant in accordance with the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan who has on many occasions highlighted the uniqueness of the liquorice root in the treatment of infectious diseases.
On December 16, 2020, a regular meeting of the "Turkmenistan-USA" Business Council was held online, at which key aspects of trade-economic cooperation were discussed.
The meeting was attended by members of the Government, heads of key ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, senior representative of the US State Department Jonathan Henick, Executive Director of the Council Eric Stewart and heads of American companies-members of the Council, in particular, “John Deere”, “Case New Holland”, “Westport Trading Ltd", "Caterpillar", "Oxbow", "S2Global", "Visa,” “Boeing" and others.
During the meeting, the need to diversify the economic partnership between Turkmenistan and the United States was emphasized, in which investment, technological and financial directions occupy a special place.
In his speech, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov expressed the commitment of the Government of Turkmenistan to expand trade-economic cooperation with the United States. He noted the long-term positive contribution of American companies to various sectors of the Turkmen economy.
The importance of the "Turkmenistan - USA" Business Council in the development of mutually beneficial relations between the two countries was emphasized. Established in 2008 at the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Business Council has become an effective mechanism for establishing and strengthening relations between business structures of Turkmenistan and the United States.
Meetings of the Council are held annually in Ashgabat or in one of the US cities. The Business Council has repeatedly organized major business forums and exhibitions, during which the products of leading American manufacturers were demonstrated, including the presentation of plans for cooperation between American companies and their Turkmen partners. In the early years, about 60 American companies participated in such forums. At the subsequent stages, more than 100 American business structures took part in these events.
As part of today's meeting, separate online meetings were held between the leadership of leading American companies and members of the Government, heads of the agricultural complex and the banking system of Turkmenistan.

16 декабря 2020 года в онлайн режиме прошло очередное заседание Делового совета «Туркменистан–США», на котором обсуждались ключевые аспекты торгово-экономического сотрудничества.
Во встрече приняли участие члены Правительства, руководители ключевых министров и ведомств Туркменистана, высокопоставленный представитель Госдепа США Джонатан Хеник, исполнительный директор Совета Эрик Стюарт и руководители американских компаний-членов Совета, в частности «John Deere», «Case New Holland», «Westport Trading Ltd.», «Caterpillar», «Oxbow», «S2Global», «Visa», «Boeing» и других.
В ходе заседания подчёркнута необходимость диверсификации экономического партнёрства между Туркменистаном и США, в котором инвестиционное, технологическое и финансовое направление занимают особое место.
В своем выступлении Министр иностранных дел Туркменистана Р.Мередов выразил приверженность Правительства Туркменистана расширению торгово-экономического взаимодействия с Соединёнными Штатами. Он отметил многолетний позитивный вклад американских компаний в различные отрасли туркменской экономики.
Подчеркнута значимость Делового совета «Туркменистан - США» в развитии взаимовыгодных связей между двумя странами. Созданный в 2008 году по инициативе Президента Туркменистана Гурбангулы Бердымухамедова, Деловой совет стал действенным механизмом налаживания и укрепления отношений между предпринимательскими структурами Туркменистана и США.
Заседания Совета проводятся ежегодно в Ашхабаде или в одном из городов США. Деловой совет неоднократно выступал организатором крупных бизнес-форумов и выставок, в ходе которых демонстрировалась продукция ведущих американских производителей, включая презентации планов сотрудничества между американскими компаниями и их туркменскими партнёрами. В первые годы в таких форумах участвовало около 60 американских компаний. На последующих этапах в этих мероприятиях принимали участие более 100 американских бизнес-структур.
В рамках сегодняшнего заседания состоялись отдельные онлайн-встречи между руководством ведущих американских компаний и членами Правительства, главами сельскохозяйственного комплекса и банковской системы Туркменистана.
Meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Framework Program for Cooperation in the Field of Sustainable Development between Turkmenistan and the UN for 2021-2025Wednesday, 16 December 2020 14:06
On December 16, 2020, the first meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations for 2021-2025 was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by the heads and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of more than 30 relevant ministries and departments of the country. The meeting was attended by the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, as well as the heads of the UN structural divisions in Ashgabat.
At the opening of the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov noted the high level of multifaceted cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN. In particular, the Minister expressed confidence in that through joint efforts it will be possible to attain vast results in line with the present objectives and partnership spirit, as well as the long-term interests of Turkmenistan and the UN in the process of provision of sustainable development and stable progress. In this context, the importance of joint systemic works on the basis of medium-term and long-term programs and plans was highlighted.
As known, in March of this year, a new Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations for 2021-2025 was signed. Speaking at today’s session, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan E.Panova underlined the special attention and commitment of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the development of strategic partnership with the UN on a wide range. She expressed gratitude to the Government of Turkmenistan for assistance in the implementation of joint programs and projects aimed at the wellbeing of not only the people of Turkmenistan, but of the whole world.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the main achievements in the implementation of the current Cooperation Framework Program. Presentations were made by representatives of UNICEF, WHO, UNDP, UNFPA in Turkmenistan on the results of joint activities.
Then an exchange of views took place on the implementation of the Cooperation Framework for the coming period. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of a "road map" for its implementation. The participants were familiarized with the presentation of the mechanisms of management and implementation of this Program, the strategy for its financing, as well as the plan for monitoring and evaluating the activities.
The meeting participants agreed to consider in the first quarter of 2021 the UN Country Team's Joint Resource Mobilization Strategies, as well as recommendations and proposals for financing the Cooperation Framework Program and mobilizing resources for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the national level.
Upon completion of the meeting, the Protocol of the first meeting of the Steering Committee was signed which reflects the practical measures for the implementation of the given Framework Programme.
On December 14, 2020, a meeting was held in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, which was attended by the heads and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors - heads of diplomatic missions and missions to international organizations, heads of consular offices of Turkmenistan abroad.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues related to the implementation of the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan, given to the diplomatic corps of the country during an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country, held on December 11 this year, was discussed.
Turkmen diplomats also considered ways of practical implementation of the ideas and initiatives of the Head of State put forward by him at the International Conference "Policy of Neutrality and its Importance in Ensuring International Peace, Security and Sustainable Development", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, which took place on December 12, 2020 in Ashgabat.
СОВЕЩАНИЕ В МИД ТУРКМЕНИСТАНА
14 декабря 2020 года в здании Министерства иностранных дел Туркменистана состоялось совещание, в котором приняли участие руководители и ответственные сотрудники внешнеполитического ведомства, послы – главы зарубежных дипломатических представительств и миссий при международных организациях, руководители консульских учреждений Туркменистана.
В ходе совещания был обсужден широкий круг вопросов, связанных с выполнением поручений Президента Туркменистана, данных дипломатическому корпусу страны в ходе расширенного заседания Кабинета Министров страны, состоявшегося 11 декабря текущего года.
Туркменские дипломаты также рассмотрели пути практической реализации идей и инициатив Главы государства, выдвинутых им на Международной конференции «Политика нейтралитета и её значение в обеспечении международного мира, безопасности и устойчивого развития», посвящённой 25-летнему юбилею постоянного нейтралитета Туркменистана, которая состоялась 12 декабря 2020 года в Ашхабаде.
