The officers of Central Criminal Police Department of fight against drug trafficking with Samtshke-Javakheti Police Division detained citizen of Ukraine, Natalia B. born in 1988 in Bakuriani for illegal purchase and storage of drugs.
She was detained while she was driving from Bakuriani to Borjomi. Police officers seized large amount of drugs, methamphetamine. She pleaded guilty. The investigation is underway.
Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to inform citizens that in connection with a heavy snowing certain restrictions have been imposed on Batumi-Kobuleti pass for certain types of vehicles, such as trucks. Patrol Police crews are mobilized and operate in the round-the-clock regime on highways and main roads.
At this moment road leading to the mountainous regions of Ajara are open for all types of traffic. Heavy snowing has caused not a single traffic accidents.

It’s been two day since heavy snowing started in Guria. Despite intensive snowing and precipitation traffic movement is open for all types of transport on Samtredia-lanchkhuri main road sector. On Samtredia-Chokhatauri road sector traffic movement is restricted for trucks. On Sajavakho pass traffic movement is being monitored by the patrol police, granting permit to continue movement only to those vehicles which are in a normal condition from the technical point of view and suitable for moving in the snow.
Road clearing works are actively held in Guria region. Distant villages in the mountainous regions are approachable.
Central Criminal Police Department alongside Ajara, Imereti, Ratcha-lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti police departments jointly conduct investigation under the article 223 (1) I and II parts, article 18-179, II part and article 151 of the Criminal Code.
At this moment additional evidences have been gathered regarding the mentioned cases on the basis of which criminal authority Mindia G. under the nickname “Lavas Oghli” was exposed.
As a result, investigation has moved to the final phase and Mindia G. will face charges in the nearest future.
In December 2015 Mindia G. was detained in the Republic of Moldavia. Deportation procedures are in progress at the moment.
The standing commission, established on the basis of the relevant decree issued by the Minister of Internal Affairs, liquidated drugs seized from illegal circulation as a result of investigative activities held across the country. Law enforcers destructed 108 405 codeine containing pills, 20 454 pills of pregbalin, 633 pills of subutex, 711 gr of heroin, 17 kg of marijuana, methadone, cocaine and other types of psychotropic substances.
Law enforcers conduct destruction of drugs and psychotropic substances in every three months on the basis of the relevant decision of the Court. Process of drug destruction was attended by MIA representatives along with officials from the Ministry of Healthcare and General Prospector’s office
The officers of Guria police department as a result of the operative-investigative activities detained brothers-Nodar T. (DoB 1987) for attempted stealing and resistance offered to police and Tornike T. (DoB 1997) for resistance offered to police.Law enforcers detained Nodar T. in Ozurgeti when he damaged the paybox machine and attempted to appropriate cash in it along with his brother. In the moment of detention brothers offered resistance to police. During the personal search special appliances needed for breaking locks were seized by police as evidence.Investigation is in progress on the fact of the attempted stealing and resistance to police, articles 19-177 and 353 (1) of the Criminal Code.
Investigative agencies of Georgia unite all structural units of the Ministries of Georgia, which conduct investigation of the criminal cases according to their jurisdiction, in particular: the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Corrections and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In December 2015, 3612 crime cases have been registered out of which 1357 cases were solved. Case-solving index is 37,57%. In comparison with the results of the same period of the last year, the number of crime increased by +3,57%.

In December 2015, 2446 crime cases were registered by MIA territorial units according to their investigation jurisdiction, out of which 1185 cases were solved; case-solving index is 48,45%. In comparison with the results of the same period of the previous year the number of crime decreased by +8,71%.

January-December 2015 all investigative agencies throughout the country In the period between January-December 2015 all the investigative agencies throughout Georgia registered 35096 crimes, 21176 cases are solved. The index of the solved cases is 60,34%. In comparison with the results of the same period of the previous year the number of crime decreased by -3,92%.

According to investigation jurisdiction of MIA territorial units in the period between January-December 2015 MIA territorial units registered 25494 criminal cases according to their investigation jurisdictions, 17177 cases had been solved. The index of the solved cases is 67.38%. In comparison with the results of the same period of the previous year the number of crime decreased by -3,72%.
The officers of Vake-Saburtalo police division as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained Lasha D. (DoB 1992) for hooliganism and minor injury inflicted on purpose.
Investigation established that detainee wounded Davit D. (DoB 1992) on the basis of conflict with a firearm and fled from the place of crime. The wounded young man is being treated by medics at the moment.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of hooliganism and minor injury inflicted on purpose (articles 239, II part and 118, I part of the Criminal Code).
Tbilisi Detectives Division of Tbilisi Police Department has started investigation regarding illegal restriction of freedom of Vakhtang Kiria -prosecutor at Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti prosecutor’s office.Investigation established that on January 13 at 16:15 Vakhtang Kiria left home and for the several days his whereabouts were unknown to the family members. The mobile phone was turned off, the vehicle was not found and Vakhtang Kiria was unreachable.
As a result of investigative and operative-searching activities law enforcers seized the mobile phone of Kiria in Rustavi, which was disposed there for concealing the traces of crime. Law enforcers also established the final route of Vakhtang Kiria, which appeared to be leading to Vazha-Pshavela Avenue, Tbilisi. For summing up the information at hand and for establishing the place of crime, police checked the nearby territory and interviewed residents.
As a result of investigative and operative-searching activities the body of Vakhtang Kiria was found in one of the apartments located in Tbilisi, Vazha-Pshavela Avenue, district VII, building 24. On the body of the deceased prosecutor a number of injuries were found inflicted with a sharp object. At the place of crime signs of the attempted coverage of crime were visible. In particular: for concealing the traces of blood in the bathroom, special appliance was installed for lifting the body while on the body of the deceased prosecutor, traces characteristic for the initial phase of body disintegration were visible. The electric saw was also found at the place with a blood spots on it as well as a big sized roller bag needed for moving large objects. As soon as the mentioned objects were found the case was classified as the premeditated murder in accordance with the article 108.
As a result of investigative activities and analyzing the operative information it was ascertained that apartment where the body of Vakhtang Kiria was found had been rented by Bidzina Kutchava (DoB 1962). It was also established that special appliances were also purchased several days earlier by Kuchava at Open market Eliava.
Considering the mentioned facts, investigation started conducting active measures to obtain additional evidences as well as in order to establish the whereabouts of Bidzina Kuchava, as there were high possibilities from his side to conceal the traces of crime. All police including regional and patrol units were sent information on Kutchava.
In the course of conducting special measures operative information was received that Kutchava along with two friends was moving from Saburtalo to Ortachala by Mercedes made vehicle. Several minutes later the vehicle was requested to stop by patrol and criminal police crews. As soon as Kutchava saw the law enforcers he made a single shot in head area with a pistol registered on his name, due to which he died at the site.
While searching the clothes of Kutchava the technical passport of Vakhtang Kiria’s vehicle was found which was stained supposedly with Kiria’s blood as well as gloves, three mobile phones and etc. Investigation established Vakhtang Kiria and Bidzina Kuchava were relatives and had rather close relations. It was also established that murder case of Vakhtang Kiria is not linked to his professional activities.
For obtaining biological and other evidences and establishing the truth, investigation is in progress. On further results of investigation citizens will be informed later.
The officers of Imereti, Ratcha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti police department as a result of the immediate operative-investigative activities detained Merab G. (DoB 1957) for premeditated murder.
It was established that detainee inflicted lethal injury to his son-in-law Paata K. (DoB 1972) on the basis of conflict that took place in Satsire village. Due to the received injuries the victim died at the place of crime.
Law enforcers detained Merab G. at the place of crime. The weapon of murder was seized by police. Detainee has already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of premeditated murder, article 108 of the Criminal Code.
