MIA DETAINED PERSON WANTED FROM 2013

The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained previously convicted B.L. (DoB 1988) wanted by Khobi police division from 2013.
Detainee is accused of delivering forbidden object while transporting the inmate to the penitentiary facility, article 378 envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
During the personal search of B.L. as well as in the course of searching activities held in his house policemen seized unregistered pistol. The relevant expertise is already planned to be conducted.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of firearm and ammunition under the article 236, II part of the Criminal Code of Georgia

RESCUERS SAVED THREE PEOPLE IN TRUSO VALLEY

Rescuers of MIA Emergency Situations Agency saved three citizens in Truso valley, Kazbegi. Operative Response center 112 received notification that three citizens were not able to continue their route because of the bad weather and requested assistance.
As soon as the report was received MIA rescuers departed to the site by helicopter and as a result of successful rescue operation citizens were fined in no time and take to safe place. at this moment their lives are no longer in danger.

MIA SEIZED PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCE IN LARGE QUANTITIE

The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department along with Patrol Police Department and customs department of the Ministry of Finances, as a result of jointly held operative-investigative activities, detained Azerbaijani citizen A.M. (DoB 1985) for illegal purchase and keeping of psychotropic substance in large quantities and smuggling on the territory of Georgia. He was detained on BCP “Red Bridge”.
During searching activities held in detainee’s vehicle law enforcers seized 84 capsules of ecstasy drug, which contains 2,520 kg of psychotropic substance, which was found in specially arranged cache of the vehicle.
Investigation established that detainee planned to smuggle drugs on the territory of Azerbaijan, through Georgian border.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping, selling and smuggling of psychotropic substance in large quantities article 261, IV part, sub-paragraph “A” and article 236, III part, sub-paragraph “A” of the Criminal Code.

CASE OF MURDER SOLVED BY MIA

The officers of Isani-Samgori police division and Tbilisi police department as a result of jointly held operative-searching and investigative activities detained L.SH. (DoB 2000) for premeditated murder.
Investigation established that detainee on September 29 wounded O.K. (DoB 1999) with a knife in face area on the bases of conflict and inficted another wound in chest area to A.B. (DoB 2000) who died soon as he was transferred to the hospital. L.SH. fled from the place of crime. The incident took place nearby “Tato” hotel located on Rustavi highway.
Law enforcers detained the criminal immediately on the territory of Tbilisi. The weapon of crime was seized by the law enforcers. Investigation is in progress on the fact of premeditated murder, article 108 of the criminal code.

MIA DETAINED 11 PERSONS FOR HOOLIGANISM

Activists of “Georgian Force” movement held unauthorized procession from Heroes Square to Marjanishvili subway. Activists of the demonstration were particularly aggressive, insulted citizens, activated fireworks and threw them in various facilities and cafes, made graffiti and damaged signboards.
At the site patrol police crews were mobilized. Law enforcers dispersed the demonstration and detained 11 individuals for hooliganism on Aghmashenebeli Avenue.
Investigation is in progress under the article 239, parts II and II of the criminal Code.

ILLEGAL FIREARM AND AMMUNITION SEIZED BY MIA

The officers of Vake-Saburtalo police division as a result of the investigative activities held on the basis of the operative information detained G.M. (DoB 1973) for illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition. During the searching activities held in detainee’s house policemen seized “Jericho” pistol, cartridge and 10 bullets.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition, article 236, part II.

One person has been killed in Tsalka as a result of shooting

One person has been killed in Tsalka as a result of shooting. One more is injured. According to Interior Ministry, two persons are arrested.
As it is reported, the investigation was launched under the article 108 against one of them which means premeditated murder. The result of shooting is private reasons. 

MIA SEIZED ILLEGAL FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION

The officers of the Division Combating Trafficking and Illegal Migration of the Main Division Combating Organized Crime of the Central Criminal Police Department of the MIA as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained Zurab A. (D.o.B.: 1971) in Khudadov Str., Tbilisi for illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition.
During the search of a detainee`s house the law enforcers seized “Smith Wesson” type unregistered pistol, “Marakov” system unregistered pistol, 2 cartridges and 38 bullets.
The detainee has already pleaded guilty. The investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition (Article 236, parts II of the Criminal Code of Georgia).

GIORGI MGHEBRISHVILI CONDUCTED MONITORING OF ADJARA UNITS OF THE MIA IN CONNECTION WITH OPENING SEA SEASON

Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili, the Minister of Internal Affairs visited Adjara region in connection with opening of the tourist season and personally got acquainted with the activities of the units.
The Minister of Internal Affairs was at Sarpi border checkpoint and Batumi Airport. Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili talked to the border-controllers and patrol officers and received detailed information about their activities. The Minister conducted the coastline monitoring during his visit by the high-speed boat of the Patrol Police Department of the MIA.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs sent additional forces to Adjara region, in particular to Batumi and Kobuleti for ensuring the public order during sea season. Civilians’ and traffic safety shall be protected by 270 patrol officers. They will be patrolling in Batumi Boulevard by electric cars and so called Segway. Number of the patrol police officers has been increased by 200 in Batumi Airport and Sarpi border checkpoint.
The Security Police Department of the MIA also increased the number of its personnel for the sea season. The Department has a new building. Adjara Division employs up to 1000 security police officers while the Batumi Boulevard is protected by 100 police officers.
The Border Police Coast Guard Department of the MIA has expanded its capacities. The Department increased the number of its personnel; it operates floating transport means in full readiness and conducts maritime patrolling in 24-hour regime for protection of the safety of holidaymakers.
The Emergency Situations Management Department of the MIA meets the sea season with the relevant equipment. The wooden as well as metal rescue towers are repaired from Sarpi to Choloki. All watch towers are provided with the first aid pharmacy. Seasonal lifeguards have passed training courses in the first medical aid. This year, for the first time, they were given medical ventilation apparatus, which will help them to give the first aid in a more effective way. With the purpose to prevent risks, the swimming area (line) indicating buoys are accommodated in the sea. Signboards providing the holidaymakers with the information on the risk places for swimming in Georgian and English languages are installed on the beach. At the same time, the divers have passed the relevant training for raising their qualification skills. The number of the water devices for the rescue unit has been increased, the equipment of the rescue-divers – renewed and the number of seasonal lifeguards reached 135 persons

MIA DETAINED INDIVIDUAL WANTED FOR ARMED ATTACK ON THE POLICE OFFICERS

The officers of Kakheti Police Department and Adjara Autonomous Republic Police Department, as a result of joint operative-searching and investigation measures detained in Sarpi village, Khelvachauri region Omar Ts (D.o.B.: 1989), previously convicted, wanted since May 15, this year by Gurjaani regional division for the attack on the police officers, illegal purchase-storage-carrying of a firearm and robbery.
The investigation established that on May 11, 2016 in the night Omar Ts. fired several times in the direction of the patrol-inspectors of the second unit of Liner Patrol Division, Kakheti Main Division of the Patrol Police Department, after the mentioned he illegally appropriated a civilian’s vehicle and fled from the scene. Two patrol cars were damaged as a result of firing. None of the police officers had been injured. The law enforcers seized 17 cartridges during the examination of the scene. Police found a stolen car in the vicinity of Gurjaani cemetery. Gurjaani District Court made decision on the arrest of Omar Ts. in absentia. Detainee has pleaded guilty.
Investigation is underway on the crimes envisaged by the I part of the article 3531, the 2nd and 3rdparts of the article 236, the sub clause “e” of the 3rd part and the sub clause “b” of the 4th part of the article 178, the Criminal Code of Georgia.
