With no more than a month to go before the opening of the 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE), exhibitors, old or new alike, are busy in preparation. Five years on, why has the expo been more and more attractive to foreign businesses? Here are the answers from them.

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava took part in the official opening of the fourth International Import Expo in Shanghai, China. Following the Covid regulations, a large part of the foreign participants participated in the ceremony online.

Shanghai International Import Expo has been held under the auspices of the Government of the People’s Republic of China since 2018 and is attended by the delegations from over hundred countries. Expo participants have the opportunity to present their products and meet potential business partners.

It should be noted that in 2018-2019, Georgian business delegation, by the decision of the Government of Georgia and organized and co-financed by the LEPL Enterprise Georgia Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, twice participated in the China International Import Exhibition. The products presented by them were diverse and included both food and industrial products.

At the same time, at the exhibition in 2019, Georgian stand was recognized as one of the best among 190 countries participating in the expo. The exhibition has significantly contributed to the growth of exports and diversification of export products in the People's Republic of China.

China, a longstanding supporter of economic globalization, is ready to embrace the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE).
