The party was organized at the Biltmore Hotel to celebrate the 246^th anniversary of signing the Delcaration of Independence and the Independence Day of the USA. The official reception was attended by the members of legilsative and executive authorities of Georgia, the diplomatic corps, NGOs, representtaives of the busienss sector and media. President of the American Friends of Georgia Club Ilya Zukakishvili gave a welcome speech.

It is my pleasure to inform you that this year it is the 18^th time that we are celebrating July 4^th and we are proud that throughout these years we honor the independence day of the devoted friend and rigirous ally of Georgia together with the organizations supporting Georgian-American friednship. 

I will not exaggerate to say that July 4^th gives joy to not only American people but also those who wish to be friends of freedom. This implies the fact that this day is festive for all those people for whom democracy serves as the system of values.

Besides, I get convinced every time that the Independence Day of the USA is especially precious for Georgians as well. The environment created at the event is full of happy emotion and further draws supporters of Georgian-American friendship together.

This year is the anniversary of 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations between our countries. Throughout these years, American people have numerously proved strong friendship with Georgian people and today, in the most critical conditions for the world continue to give political support of our country. 

Allow me to use this opportunity and note that the party organized on behalf of the Georgian people gave us the opportunity to send the message of rigorous friendship to the American people and express gratitude for many kind deeds for the Georgian state throughout three decades.

At the same time, July 4^th is one of the best days for letting everyone see both inside and outside of the state what the attitude of the freedom loving Georgian nation is towards American people.

At the end, let me thank all those organizations and people who joined the initiative of celebrating the 246^th anniversary of signing the declaration and at the same time support strengthening Georgian-American friendship.

I would like to state a few words about severity of the Russian Federation which it continues to apply to the Ukrainean people. It is only through confirming this declared friednship in the offcial part of the Independence Day of the USA that we paid respect to people who died for independence with a minute of silence at the background of the Ukrainean anthem – stated Ilya Zukakishvili, president of the American Friends of Georgia Club.

On July 4, Ambassador Hotel was decorated with American accessories where a truly American environment was created. After the official part ended, visitors had the opportunity to listen to the repertoir of the enthic folk group “Shara”, enjoy most beautiful Georgian dances, take part in the 4^th of July festive draw and taste the special delicious 4^th of July cake.

The celebration ended with grandiose fireworks.

As noted in the congratulatory letter, Azerbaijan and Georgia have historically established a strong friendship and kind neighborly relations and current cooperation, which will serve to the development of interaction between Azerbaijan and Georgia.

European Union Ambassador Carl Hartzell has congratulated the people of Georgia on Independence Day, saying that the EU remains unwavering in its support of Georgia’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

He added that in these difficult times, the EU stands in solidarity not only with Ukraine, but also with Georgia, and “cherishes the deep bonds that exist between us. Bonds that we wish to see growing stronger.”

Hartzell also reminded that on 3 March, the Government of Georgia applied for EU membership, “which reflects the aspirations of an overwhelming majority of its population”.

“Georgia has made a choice founded on its historical values. Now is the moment for Georgia to act decisively to demonstrate its determination on this European path,” said Hartzell.

First of all, happy Independence Day to those of you who are swearing allegiance to the homeland today. The Georgian military has been characterized by its ability to fight, by its responsibility, its self-sacrifice and loyalty to oath. Today, you are becoming part of this worthy military history. You know and are well aware that defending the independence and freedom of a country is not an easy task and requires dignity and dedication.

On the 26 of May, the Georgian nation decided once and for all to live in a free, independent country. Thus, the Georgian nation once and for all refused to be part of another country, refused slavery.

Today, the 26 of May, is not only a day to revive the past, nor is it an ordinary holiday, it is a day of reflection and understanding. A day when we should think about our country and ask ourselves whether we are doing everything that this country needs, for its future, for the well-being of its people, for its independence and for its freedom.

This question should be asked by everyone, every citizen, every child of this country, living here or abroad. After all, independence means that the future of our children is in our hands and that no one can avoid this responsibility. However, and this thinking is obvious, those of us who stand on this side of the tribune owe more, for we have more responsibility. This responsibility is stronger now, because Georgia is once again standing at a crossroads, not unlike many crucial moments in its history. In front of us has come the time for new opportunities and new challenges and they require certain answers, readiness, foresight, a vision and courage with caution. It requires unity in the first place - and I will say this as many times as it takes.

A historic opportunity arose on the road to Europe. This road to Europe did not arise without bloodshed and without sacrifice. This aspiration was based on the knowledge that common values united us and connected us to the European civilization. And while we defended the Georgian faith, identity and values against a number of conquering empires, we also defended Europe at the same time. These shared values encompassed everything that is the key to our European future today, that is - four core values and principles.

1) A fair court, a principle which dates back many centuries in Georgia and is based on the historical cornerstones of Georgian law: be it the customary law of Antiquity, the 13^th-century "Book of All the Mistakes of Men", the 14^th-century criminal law of King George the Brilliant, or King Vakhtang VI’s unique repertoire of historical legal writings. The history of Georgian law would have adorned many European countries, and it is a bit of a shame that we cannot continue this legacy properly today.

2) The cornerstone of Georgian culture, which is also the defining value for Europe - tolerance and diversity. Even today, we and Europe owe it to ourselves to continue this tradition.

3) The Christianity of Europe and Georgia instructed us to recognize humanity as the center of the world and therefore to respect and protect all of its rights. On our way to Europe, this also stands on our agenda.

4) And finally, the balance of power to avoid the temptation of authoritarianism that characterizes our history. The division of the Executive and Legislative branches and their balancing dates back to the 12^th-century reign of Tamar the King, under the form of the Karavi and the Darbazi, which stand as the foundations of Georgian parliamentarism. Thus, we must understand that the protection of these values is neither the fulfillment of someone else's dictated will, nor the danger of alienation and loss of identity, but on the contrary - taking decisive steps on the path to Europe is tantamount to returning to oneself. That is why, cognitively or intuitively, this path is supported by all of society and this support has not only slowed down but strengthened over the years. Today, for the first time, a real chance has arisen. Neither the civil society united around this goal, nor the souls of our ancestors, nor the future generations will forgive us for missing this chance. Instead, those who will be able to succeed on this path will inherit a unique place and appreciation in Georgian history. The choice is yours! The choice is ours!

With this great historical chance, Georgia is facing no less powerful challenges. The war in Ukraine, in the heart of Europe, reminds us of the tragedies of the war waged on Georgia more than once in the past centuries. Precisely because we know the cost of such devotion to country, do we owe it to ourselves not only to feel the pain of the Ukrainian people, but also to show full solidarity with them. We understand what is the power of solidarity and we see this in the Georgian society expressing that solidarity in all possible ways. We also understand very well that even our accelerated path toward Europe is the merit of the Ukrainian people, achieved with their blood and suffering. Ukraine has gone through incredible battles, its warriors have shown the world an example of courage, devotion and endurance. I would like to pay here tribute to the fallen Ukrainian and Georgian heroes, because what they all fought for is independence and freedom, and the 26 of May is a day for independence and freedom. We know and will never forget that Ukraine today defends not only its own freedom, sovereignty, and independence, but also our freedom and that of other European countries. It protects the future of a united, strong, free Europe.

At this time, the challenges related to our occupied territories are not slowing down, on the contrary. In this tense environment, there is an attempt to convince people that Georgia can "use this time" and try to return territories by force - this is another obvious Russian misinformation. I once again address our citizens in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali, assuring you that Georgia will not act against you through war and force. It is clear to everyone today which country threatens the sovereignty, identity and life of its neighbors. This is not Georgia. I appeal to you and offer that, as in the past we created the Georgian state together, now together we should create an equal future. I offer to you to join us in an European united future. I offer you freedom, and the respect and protection of your language, your identity, your history, your culture. I offer you new accord. At this time, this yet-another provocation by Russia, the threat of referendum and annexation, will not achieve its goal - the escalation of the confrontation between us and our shift from the policy of peace. Russia mustn’t make another grave mistake and wrongdoing, and must not once again try to disregard all the norms and principles of international law. This will not go unanswered and will provoke appropriate reactions from the international community.

Today, on the 26 of May, my request and wish to you, the society and the political elite, is one: Strength is in Unity! When if not today, must we realize that we have no other way! A united nation has a great future ahead: Europe and return to our roots! Once again, I would like to appeal to all of you and remind you that national accord in this should not remain an empty word and should reflect our state and historical consciousness. This chance exists today!

I would like to read one sentence from the declaration created by several groups of young people that will be signed today at the Orbeliani Palace: "Young people living in Georgia stand together to reach out to the international community at this crucial moment in the country and to express our unwavering will and support for the country's European future."

We are tasked with listening to these young people and paving the way for future generations to make their own choices. Success on this path depends on us and only us. And “us” means all of us: the government, the opposition and the society with all its components.

That is why I am ready to be your voice and deliver this message of the nation where the voice of Georgia should be heard today! So they too can understand the unified message of Georgia "We are Europeans"! We must all serve this goal... and this is how I understand the words of the oath uttered today: "I serve Georgia!"

In the open space of the palace of state ceremonies the festive celebration of the 4^th of July of the devoted friend and strong ally of Georgia was held.

Members of the legislative and executive authorities of Georgia, representatives of diplomatic corp, busienss sector and various fields of society attended the festive party dedictaed to the 245^th anniversary of signing the declaration of independence.

The open space of the palace was decorated with the colors of the USA flag. Visitors were given bracelets and badges immediately upon entering the place. Zura Khutsishvili’s band played several American jazz pieces especially for this day.       

The president of the American friendship Club, Ilia Zukakishvili and her excellency, Ambassador of the U.S. to Georgia, Kelly Degnan addressed the public. Then anthems of both U.S. and Georgia were sung.   

The president of American Friendshop Club Ilia Zukakishvili stated in his address speech:

The  American Friendshop Club, as the organization supporting American values, has been celebrating the American Independence Day for the 17^th time. Therefore, we get convinced  that through its essence July 4^th grants happiness to not only American people but also those who wish to be the partner of the U.S. to achieve common goals and mainitain values and interests.   

At the same time I am extremely happy about the fact that we, Georgians, together with our strategic partners celebrate our common values of independce, freedom and democracy of the U.S.  

Several thousand kilometers distance Georgia from the U.S. but, despite this, celebrating the independence day of the U.S. in our country is extremely emotional since any activity related to July 4^th is especially precious for Georgian people and is full of best emotions of happiness. The environment created during this special celebration gets Georgian-American frinedship which started three decades ago even closer. It was indeed three decades ago that the dynamics of the process which started then laid the foundation and determined special attitude of our nation towards American peple.

One more factor to celebrate the Independence Day in the capital city of Georgia is demonstration of the clear message of strong friendship and what the value connection between USA and Georgia is rather than just the frienship process at the level of one-off words and phrases and the intention of caring about one’s interests.

As already mentioned, July 4^th is one of the best days and opportunities to send a message full of gratutude to official Washington for the good deeds is has done throughout last three decades for the state of Georgia and rigorous support of the Georgian people. The 4^th of July   festive mood is the reflection of the gratitude which is called rigorous Georgian-American friendship.

At the same time I consider that the format of  similar events enables us to demonstrate to everyone inside or outside of the state that freedom-loving Georgian nation is devoted to the principles based on common values and a reliable partner which is obviously able to serve as the strong friend of the future.  

July 4^th is another clear example of the fact that fight for independence always has a point and the history of July 4^th is indeed a vivid celebration of perosnal freedom and future happiness granted by God. We are proud that during 17 years together with Georgian companies we have been celebrating the existence of the idea which serves as the basis of the USA.  

Therefore, once again I, as all those freedom-loving individuals, would like to once again confirm my respect towards the American people, express gratitude towards the American people and the USA government for all implemented and ongoing projects and wish to be part of the effort which will further strengthen and enhance friendship between Georgia and the USA.

American Friendship Club – 8 July, 2021

On March 10, 2021, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held an online conference dedicated to the 30^th Anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan and the declaration of 2021 as International Year of Peace and Trust

The representatives of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations accredited to Georgia, Ministry Foreign Affairs of Georgia, academia, as well as representatives of Georgian media attended the conference.

It was noted that over the years of sovereign development, under the wise leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the large-scale programmes and socio-economic, scientific and educational, social and political reforms have been successfully implemented to ensure the country's prosperity, for the happiness and well-being of the people.

During the conference, it was emphasized that the fact of the declaration of 2021, in accordance with the UN General Assembly Resolution adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan, as the International Year of Peace and Trust, clearly confirmed the effective role of the creative foreign policy strategy implemented by Turkmenistan under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in stimulating positive regional and global processes, strengthening a culture of peace and trust for the sake of sustainable development and progress on the planet.

A video on Turkmenistan’s political, economic and cultural achievements was also presented to the conference participants.

Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani attended the reception to mark the 28th anniversary of the independence day of Turkmenistan.
 
Speaking before the attending audience, David Zalkaliani wished the Turkmen people peace, prosperity and success.
 
According to the Minister Cooperation between Georgia and Turkmenistan has always been characterized with dynamism and is based on extraordinary close friendship of our nations.
 
“We overcame challenges related to establishment of states and during this process, we have extended hand of friendship to each other on many occasions, that will never be forgotten” – Zalkaliani said.
 
The Minister also paid special attention to the need to develop transport and transit cooperation between the two countries.
 
“As you all know, ancient “Silk Road” used to cross our countries and the revival and development of this transport corridor and utilizing its potential is of high importance. We spare no efforts to achieve this goal. Georgia fully supports new initiatives that will bring more integration between the states of the Caspian and the Black Sea and we are ready to facilitate all prospective endeavors” – Zalkaliani noted.

The Minister noted positive dynamics in the field of economic cooperation. According to him, the number of tourists traveling from Turkmenistan to Georgia is increasing significantly.  Zalkaliani also welcomed the intensified political relations and exchange of high-level visits during the past period.

 
The Minister noted with satisfaction that Georgia and Turkmenistan are successfully cooperating on the international arena and thanked Turkmenistan for its support of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
 
“There is no pending issue between our countries. Turkmenistan is an active supporter of Georgia, similarly Georgia has always paid close attention to the issues concerning Turkmenistan” – Zalkaliani said.  

Turkmenistan citizens celebrate a momentous date in the history of the state – the Independence Day. The main square of Turkmen capital met guests and participants of the celebration in bright and neat appearance. Members of the Government, deputies of the Mejlis, heads of ministries and departments, public organizations, diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, delegates of the People’s Council as well as foreign guests who came to Ashgabat are on the State tribune. Everybody wait for the start of grandiose event, which is traditionally held on Independence Day.

Military personnel of all types of the Armed Forces of the country have lined up on the Independence Square.

It is 10 o’clock. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov went up on the State tribune. The participants have greeted the Head of the State with enthusiasm.

The celebration has started from the military parade, which again demonstrated high professionalism and training of Turkmen soldiers.

Minister of Defence B. Gundogdiyev reported to President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Army General Berdimuhamedov on the readiness to start the review of defensive capability of the country. The President commanded to start the parade.

The Minister of Defence drove along the troops greeting the lines formed up of military personnel and cadets of specialized institutes and schools, soldiers and officers of National Army.

The State Anthem is played and the State Flag of Turkmenistan is hoisted.

The parade was opened by the flag group, which walked along the tribune with the State Flag of Turkmenistan and combat colours of all Armed Forces under the sounds of ceremonial march.

After, cadets of Berdimuhamed Annayev specialized military school marched in front of the tribune. They were followed by the battalion of officers of National Army and female military personnel who make significant input to provision of peace in our country.

Soldiers of motorized infantry battalion demonstrate an outstanding example of high skills and training. They were followed by Turkmen Air Force pilots. Anti-aircraft soldiers marched in front of the State tribune. Navy personnel and marines have also participated in the celebration parade.

The review is continued by the column of military personnel of artillery division who demonstrate high skills of destroying of targets during tactical training exercises.

They were followed by the battalion of the General Department of Civil Defence and Rescue Works of the Ministry of Defence, which personnel successfully solves the tasks for operational response during emergency situation and mitigation of the coonsequences.

Military personnel of new formation of National Army – the battalion of territorial defence troops, have also participated in this parade. The main objectives of the division, which was established by the initiative of Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, is to protect state, strategic and special facilities.

Personnel of special force divisions of the Ministry of National Security, which participate in operation using advanced tactics and latest military equipment, marched across the square.

Unified system of military education, which includes the Military Institute of the Ministry of Defence and Academic Department for high-rank officers, Naval Institute, Institute of the Ministry of Interior, Border Guard Institute, Institute of National Security, specialized schools of the Ministry of Defence, Specialized Navy School, has been established in the country for the years of independence.

The main goal of this educational facilities is to form up new generation of professional officers for National Army, who are able to operate modern equipment and machinery.

Activity of the Institute of the Ministry of Interior, which cadets have marched across the square, is aimed at achievements of set objectives.

They were followed by the special force group of the State Border Guard Service and the soldiers of special force battalion, which was named «Türkmen edermen». By the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The main distinguishing feature of the personnel of special divisions is high level of combat, theoretical and physical training while the fast response during solution of combat tasks, mobility and number are the main principles of their activity.

As is known, legendary ahalteke horses are pride of Turkmen nation. In this time, ahalteke horses have become assistants of the Motherland defenders and protectors of public order, having shared with them this responsible mission. March of equestrian divisions of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Interior was an adornment of this parade in honour of the 28th anniversary.

It comes the turn of modern military equipment, which is used by National Army. Mechanized columns of different Armed forces led by Combat Guard military vehicle drove across the square one after another. It was followed by motor transport vehicles designated for fast fulfilment of combat tasks of by special force divisions. Equipped with modern technical hardware, the vehicles are able to carry out combat operations in any conditions.

The review is continued by MRZR-D2, MRZR-D4, DAGOR, AJBAN combat vehicles , which are used by special force troops to fulfil successfully their tasks in the areas with difficult access.

Armoured Land Rover and NIMR vehicles equipped with anti-tank missiles, mortars and machine guns are in service of National Army.

Equipment and facility base of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan has AL SHIBL combat vehicles, which are designated for combat operations and tactical trainings of special force groups.

Modern KARAKAL combat vehicle as well as BTR-80A and KIRPI armoured vehicles for special divisions were presented at the celebration parade.

The review was continued by the third mechanized column, which consists of specialized transport vehicles of the State Border Guard Service like Toyota Hilux, Cobra, Mantra, PMV-Survivor-II, KIRPI, which are distinguished by power, speed and high off-road capabilities. These vehicles are designated for protection of sacred border of the Motherland.

IVECO trucks with ZU-23 anti-aircraft rocket complex for destroying of air target on small altitudes drove in front of the tribune.

The fourth mechanized column is represented by light armoured vehicleson service of the Ministry of Interior including Otokar, Ford, Toyota Tundra, GMC Sierra, PMV Survivor II.

Celebration parade was continue by the Air Force of the country. Group of MI-17 and MI-8 combat helicopters of the Air Force of the country appeared in the sky. They were followed by UAgusta-109 and Augusta-139, which are used for protection of the State border including in the mountain areas with difficult access. Military parade is continued by Eurocopter 365 choppers of the Ministry of National Security.

Special Diamond-42 aircraft flew over the square. Its technical characteristics allows making recon flights, aerial photo and video imaging. It wa followed by the group of SU-25 combat aircrafts.

Special battalion of the Guard of Honour of the Ministry of Defence of Turkmenistan entered the square. Demonstrating outstanding training and high skills in handling weapons, the soldiers formed up the image of two crossing olive branches – the symbol of peace on the State Flag of Turkmenistan, as well as the Abadançylyk Monument and figure of the alabay.

Performance of the Orchestra of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, which formed the figure of 28, was the final chord of the military parade in honour of the main celebration of the country.

Before the second part of the events, beautiful ahalteke horse of golden colour in parade outfit with jewellery harness and saddle was taken out to the square in front of the tribune. Two horse-riders who lead the horse demonstrated its beauty, statue and grace.

On behalf of associates, this excellent horse is presented to the Head of the State as a gratitude for his versatile activity on occasion of the 28th anniversary of Turkmenistan Independence.

28 horse riders came out to the square with flags of Turkmenistan in their hands under sounds of music. They have waltzed in front of the tribune in straight line making spectators especially foreign guest to see an excellent training of horses.

The participants greeted horse riders of famous Galkynysh equestrian group under rhythmic melody and ringing voice young singers. Ability to keep balance is in the base of fancy horse riding, in which Turkmens were always famous. Members of Galkynysh group amaze with fantastic balancing – they ride horses and form up live pyramid of the riders. They have presented his effective stunt in the celebration performance on the main square, having hoisting green colour of National flag high.

The horse riders left and the square was filled with representatives of younger generation. Participants of literature and music composition “Turkmenistan – Home of Prosperity” carried the globe, which turns into the centre of flower in choreographic picture. Performance with participation of folk and dance collective, children ensembles and flag holders is expanded around the flower.

White balloons as a metaphor of good hopes and wishes were set off to the sky. Girls dressed in white dove costumes as a symbol of peace from the old times appeared on the performance. Cute Rovach the foul is well recognized character. Content of the composition reflects and glorifies the today of the country.

Deputies of the Mejlis, representatives of public organizations, honoured elders walked across the square. They were followed by the representatives of all velayats who came to the capital. Avaza was the next theme in celebration parade. Silhouette of Avaza Congress Centre, where first Caspian Economic Forum was held with success on August 12, is on the vehicle with decorations.

Today, high level of medical service in our country is guaranteed by ramified system of super modern medical facilities, for construction of which the state has paid millions of dollars. Ashgabat has turned into large medical centre with high technological clinics.

Personnel of economic structures, financial and banking sphere entered the square. All branches of national economy dedicated their work achievements to the Independence Day. Story about them is accompanied by bright procesion of representatives of trade and entrepreneurship sphere.

One of dynamically developing branches of national economy – the textile industry, has been presented in the parade by bigger procession. Personnel of carpet making and textile facilities of the country tried to demonstrate their industry more expressively.

Folklore and ethnographic ensemble Dokmaçylar performed exciting dance under the sound of celebration song. Student artistic collectives have also been involved to bright composition demonstrating atmosphere of Turkmen traditional celebration.

Personnel of industrial facilities entered the square with portable platform with models of industrial installation. After, brightly decorated vehicles drove in front of the tribune. One of them carried the gifts of generous Turkmen land and production of local agricultural producers while another has picturesque landscape with mountains, waterfalls and animals of Turkmen nature.

It is followed by the column of people dressed in railroad, water transport and civil aviation uniform personnel. They are accompanied by the vehicles decorated according to profile theme.

Dynamics of actively developing transport and communication complex of the country is reflected in the song about goo roads performed by famous popular singers. Dance and vocal accompaniment was made by Laçyn folklore ensemble together with students of profile universities.

Personnel of oil and gas industry dressed in working outfit are on the square. Achievements of oil and gas industry are visually demonstrated in thematic decoration of demonstration vehicle. Specialists of energy sphere was walking next. Their vehicles are decorated with models of production facilities, which output capacity provides local growing requirements, high-voltage power lines supplying Turkmen energy to neighbouring countries.

The songs were sung again, balloons flew in the sky, ensemble Serpaý and student artistic collectives performed composition dedicated to the wealth of turmen land and work of personnel of fuel and energy sphere.

Construction and architectural sphere, which achievements are obvious to all, has been demonstrated.

Time of younger generation and cultural sphere personnel has come. Best children artistic collectives came to the main square of the country. young artists performed vivid dance composition.

The procession of art masters and personnel of cultural sphere of Turkmenistan was also big. Young talents and famous artists presented a bouquet of song and dance compositions to the Head of the State.

Big concert of popular singers in honour of Independence Day was held the same evening at the square in front of Älem Cultural and Entertainment Centre where numerous residents and guests of the country have gathered.

Celebrities of music stage of Turkmenistan, masters and young soloists, folk and dance ensembles, chorus groups took part in the concert. Artists performed popular and new songs. The performance was followed by the bursts of celebration fireworks. Bright fountains of light were it up and scattered like stars in evening sky.
