No information about additional consultations between the President and Government of Goergia
No information the additional consultations will be held between the President and Government of Georgia on the election issue. The administrations claim that the Prime Minister and the President have not yet discussed this issue.
As it is known, the political parties and non-government organizations ask for additional consultations before the elections. Giorgi Kvirikashvili asked to Giorgi Margvelashvili the new decree to be issued in July.
Giorgi Margvelashvili met with Gerard Larcher
In the framework of the official visit to France the President of Georgia has met with the Chairman of the Senate of France, Gerard Larcher. The official ceremony had been held. It was attended by the French Republic Guard Honor Personnel and the cavalry.
The sides discussed the bilateral relations between the countries and the European and Euro-Atlantic integration process. As Gerard Larcher said after the meeting, the sides discussed Georgia-EU partnership issue.
“The decision about the visa liberalization process should be positive for Georgia because the government of this country had implemented the action plan,-Gerard Larcher said.
The President of Georgia to visit France
The President of Georgia and First Lady Maka Chichua will visit France on 20 April. Giorgi Margvelashvili will meet to Francois Hollande in Elysee Palace. The official ceremony will hold too. In the framework of the official visit, Giorgi Margvelashvili will also meet with the President of French Senate, Gerard Larcher and Director General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova.
The President of Georgia will also answer the questions of IFRI experts in Institute of International Relations. The goal of the visit is to deepen bilateral relations between Georgia and France.
Working meeting with government
Foreign policy priorities and regional developments were discussed during the working meeting at the Administration of Government of Georgia. Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili, President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, representatives of executive and legislative branches of Government attended the meeting.
The participants of the meeting listened to the information provided by the President concerning his visit in the United States of America and discussed issues related to Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The conversation touched upon domestic ongoing processes and regional developments.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikheil Janelidze, Minister of Defense Tinatin Khidasheli, Head of State Security Service Vakhtang Gomelauri, Head of Georgian Intelligence Service Davit Sujashvili, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee Parliament of Georgia Tedo Japaridze, Security Council Secretary Irina Imerlishvili and head of the Administration of President of Georgia Giorgi Abashishvili attended the meeting.

Girogi Margvelashvili has underlined geopolitical importance of Georgia and its potential as transit country between Caspian Sea and Black Sea region.
President of Georgia thanked to the Government of USA for their firm support to Georgia in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The meeting was held in a form of discussion and the President of Georgia has answered to the questions of the audience.
The event was attended by representatives of academic, political and scientific circles, experts and students.
Giorgi Margvelashvili mer the President of the International Monetary Fund
The president of Georgia with delegation had a meeting with the President of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde at the IMF head office.
Giorgi Margvelashvili and Christine Lagarde discussed the current economic challenges in Georgia.
“The meeting of the president of Georgia and the president of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde was very significant. The key issues of the further development of the country, assurance of macroeconomic stability were discussed at the meeting.
Possibility of further cooperation of the International Monetary Fund and Georgia in relation with the strengthening the sustainability of the country towards external shocks were discussed.
Obviously, the themes of the National Bank of Georgia, stripping of the financial monitoring function from the National Bank were also touched. The necessity of the coordinated cooperation of the National Bank of Georgia and the government was underlined, but it is also necessary to preserve and protect the independence of the National Bank.
The talk was about the issue of changing the head of the National Bank. The representatives of the Fund supported the process of selection of candidates for the position of the National Bank Board members, which was initiated by the President of Georgia. The selection process is open and transparent, by involving and active participation of NGOs and field specialists”, - Giorgi Abashishvili stated.
The President of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the president of the Fund for supporting of the vital projects of the country.
