At noon, December 23, the Mountain Resorts Development Company LLC under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia will launch a new ski lift in Gudauri.
The event will be attended by Georgia's Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and members of his Cabinet.
The ski lift, manufactured by Doppelmayr, a global leader in this field, was installed by the Black Sea Group. The value of the mechanism is 20 million GEL. 
As part of visiting Gudauri's construction sites and the opening ceremony of the new ski lift, it is planned to celebrate and award those who made exceptional contributions to the development of this resort in the 1980s.

Meeting with Ambassador of Poland

Georgia's Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili held a meeting with Mariusz Maszkiewicz, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Georgia. The parties discussed the friendly relations and prospects of cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Georgia's steps and progress on its path to European integration were discussed. The importance of visa liberalization for Georgian citizens was also emphasized.
The Prime Minister of Georgia stressed the role of support from the Republic of Poland in the process of Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration and pointed our Poland's vast experience in this regard.
Mariusz Maszkiewicz confirmed Poland's unwavering support of Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty and expressed hope that his work would promote and deepen further the relations between the two countries. 

PRIME MINISTER PARTICIPATES IN OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF EURASIA TUNNEL

H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia participated in the official launch of Eurasia Tunnel, a key-note event held in Istanbul today. A 14.6 km tunnel laid underneath the seabed will connect the continents of Europe and Asia, thus contributing to the revival of the historic Silk Road.
Eurasia Tunnel trespasses 5.4 km underneath the Bosphorus. It has been built with a state-of-the-art technology to connect the newly constructed double-deck tunnel with the existing ones. 
Officially launched tunnel was first ever crossed from Europe to Asia by H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Binali Yıldırım, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey and H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia, along with other invited officials. 
H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey affixed the memorial plate on the wall of the deepest segment of the tunnel.

PRIME MINISTER OF GEORGIA MEETS PRESIDENT OF TURKEY

H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met with H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey today.
Focus at the meeting was made on the strategic partnership between the two countries and further more intensified cooperation.
Keen interest was expressed towards boosting cooperation in politics, trade and economy, transport and energy, arts and culture, along with humanitarian efforts.
Discussions were also related to the significance of Eurasia Tunnel, which is officially launched today. Prime Minister of Georgia, President and Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey have participated in the key-note event. Parties noted that this project will make a huge contribution to the revival of the Silk Road.
Particular attention was paid at the meeting to the issues of regional security, need to ensure peace and stability in the region. Prime Minister of Georgia once again expressed support and solidarity to the people and authorities of Turkey for the series of terrorist attacks occurring in the recent past. Head of the Government of Georgia noted that such violence should be opposed by consolidation of the civilized world. Georgia stands solidly by its friends in this process.

H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia is visiting the Republic of Turkey on official duties. At the outset of the visit, Head of the Government of Georgia went to the Besiktas Football Stadium, site of the terrorist attack that killed dozens of people on December 10, 2016. Prime Minister of Georgia brought wreath of garland to the site and paid tribute to the memory of the victims.
"We condemn this violence and stand by the side of Turkish people in the fight against terrorism" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia in his statements made for the local media of the Republic of Turkey.

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili met today with Arad Benko, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Georgia. The parties discussed core issues pertaining to the relations between the two countries and stressed the current dynamics of cooperation.
The two countries' close partnership in the political, trade and economic, cultural, and other fields over the past few years was also emphasized.
The Prime Minister of Georgia and the Austrian Ambassador expressed hope that the opening of the Austrian Embassy in Georgia will boost the relations between the countries, including deeper economic cooperation. The discussion also involved Georgia's investment environment. According to Arad Benko, Austrian businesspersons are taking growing interest in Georgia.
The parties discussed the importance of visa liberalization with the EU and success achieved on this path.
The Austrian Ambassador reiterated the strong support of the Republic of Austria for Georgia's aspirations, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili held a meeting with Cristian Urse, the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia. During the meeting, Georgia's progress in a number of directions was emphasized by the Council of Europe. According to Cristian Urse, the Council of Europe also welcomes Georgia's active participation in different formats.

Georgian Prime Minister congratulated Paolo Gentiloni on his appointment as Italy's Prime Minister and wished him success in his endeavors. In his congratulation letter to his Italian colleague, the Georgian Prime Minister recalls Paolo Gentiloni's recent visit to Georgia, which was of great significance for promoting the bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Italy.
" I am sure, during a number of discussions conducted in the framework of that visit you grasped the very special attitude that we maintain toward Italy and the huge importance we attach to close relations between our countries," reads Giorgi Kvirikashvili's letter.

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili met today with Biljana Milosevic (Head of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Georgia) and Lina Milner (Regional Coordinator for Missing Persons Issues at the International Committee of the Red Cross).
The parties discussed issues pertaining to cooperation and the ongoing projects of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Georgia. The importance of the ICRC's work in many directions in Georgia was emphasized. The discussion also involved the humanitarian situation in Georgia's occupied territories and the necessity of the active engagement in this context of international organizations, including ICRC.
The effectiveness of the bilateral Georgian-Abkhazian coordination mechanism under ICRC in terms of the search of missing persons was also emphasized.The representatives of the Red Cross express readiness to encourage better humanitarian conditions in the occupied territories.
The Prime Minister of Georgia thanked the Red Cross representatives for their work in Georgia.
