BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- China secured a stable recovery and progressed in high-quality development in 2021.
Now with the new year dawning, many experts believe that the world's second-largest economy will continue to seek greater synergy among global economies.
According to the World Bank's prediction, China's real GDP growth will reach 8 percent in 2021 and moderate mildly to a still-solid 5.1 percent in 2022.
The IMF has also predicted China's economy will grow 8 percent in 2021, and 5.6 percent in 2022.

GLOBALink | Global investors cast vote of confidence in Chinese economy
BEIJING, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) --Despite the pandemic-induced worldwide economic slowdown, global investors have continued to double down on investment in China this year.
Experts say that is because the Chinese economy has continued to recover steadily.
China continues to be the top investment destination for global investors.
The Ministry of Commerce said, in the first 11 months of the year, foreign direct investment (FDI) into the Chinese mainland, in actual use, rose 15.9 percent year on year to 1.04 trillion yuan (157.2 billion U.S. dollars).
That has surpassed the whole year's FDI in 2020.
Meanwhile, China commits to opening up more sectors for foreign investment.
Progress was also made in terms of the structure of foreign investment.
China has trimmed nearly two-thirds of the negative list for foreign investment in recent years.
A new version of the list will be unveiled soon.

GLOBALink | China's FAST telescope detects 509 new pulsars
GUIYANG, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Using the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), also dubbed as the "China Sky Eye," scientists have identified 509 new pulsars, which is four times of the total amount of pulsars identified by other telescopes around the world.
Pulsars, or fast-spinning neutron stars, originate from the imploded cores of massive dying stars through supernova explosions. With their high density and fast rotation, they are an ideal laboratory for studying the laws of physics in extreme environments.
Located in a naturally deep and round karst depression in southwest China's Guizhou Province, FAST started formal operation in January 2020. It is believed to be the world's most sensitive radio telescope.

In Shanghai, a mail courier is tasked with delivering the voice of the people. When the people speak, the country listens.
In the Daliang Mountains of Sichuan, a slow train is operating as it had been for decades, witnessing the history and changes along its tracks.
In Minqin, Gansu, grass-covered sand dunes are like chessboards, on which men outmaneuvers desertification.
In Wenling, Zhejiang, why did a man erupt in anger during a consultation meeting?
In Wuhan, Hubei, how has a photo inspired a touching symphony between two unlikely partners?
