The new Commander of the NATO Joint Training Center (JFTC), Major General Norbert Wagner, paid a working visit to Georgia. The purpose of the visit was to inform of the capabilities of the Georgian Defense Forces, especially, the future operation and cooperation plans of the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Assessment Center (JTEC).

Major General Norbert Wagner hosted by NATO-Georgia Training and Evaluation Control Center (JTEC). During the visit, the NATO General had meetings with the Deputy Commander of the Defense Forces, Major General Zaza Chkhaidze and Brigadier General Irakli Chichinadze.

Heads of the Joint Defense Training and Assessment Center of the Defense Forces and NATO-Georgia thanked the JFTC Commander for the visit and support. At the meetings the main topics were the ongoing reforms in the Georgian Defense Forces, the development of the capabilities of the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Assessment Center (JTEC) and increasing compatibility with NATO, as well as the organization of NATO-Georgia joint exercises planned for 2022 in Georgia.

During a three-day visit to Georgia, the Commander of the NATO Joint Training Center visited the Combat Training Center (CTC) in Vaziani. Major General Norbert Wagner also got acquainted with the interagency exercise "Didgori 21" on the territory of the General Military Center and visited the field component of the exercise in Vaziani.

JTEC has been working closely with the NATO Joint Training Center (JFTC) in Poland since 2017 under a mentoring program. Mentoring was aimed at preparing JTEC for the 2019 NATO-Georgia Exercise Oversight (ODE) role. In 2020, a partnership agreement was signed between JTEC and the NATO Joint Training Center (JFTC). The document promotes the development of JTEC as one of the full-fledged training centers affiliated with NATO.
