The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska will join the ‘Women in Conflicts’ event in Brussels on 9 June.
The event will bring together women leaders and survivors of conflicts and will
be co-hosted by the President of the European Council Charles Michel.
The event, co-hosted with UN Women, Nadia’s Initiative and the Dr. Denis Mukwege Foundation, will focus on survivors, justice and reparation, and women’s leadership in conflict.
This second edition is a follow-up to the ‘Women in Conflicts’ organised in New York City on 21 September 2021.

The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili and the First Lady, Mrs. Maka Chichua have attended the charity concert at Tbilisi State Conservatoire, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of independence of Georgia and the Georgia-Turkey relations.
The concert was performed by Izmir State Symphony Orchestra. Vakhtang Machavariani was the conductor of the concert, while Alexander Toradze – the soloist. The concert was also attended by the representatives of the Presidential Administration and the President's advisers.
The President and the First Lady have visited the Olympic Village in Rio de Janeiro. Giorgi Margvelashvili and Maka Chichua met with Georgian athletes, participating in the Olympics and wished success in their future performance.
In return, Georgian athletes thanked the President for attending the Olympics and supporting the Georgian Olympians. Athletes also noted that they will do their best to meet the expectations of their fans.
“As you might see, Georgian flag is already raised in Rio which is a heartwarming gesture to all Georgians. Forty athletes have arrived in Rio today and their mood is elevated. I am sure we will see the Georgian flag waving in Rio again and again.
I would like to thank all Georgians, who are participating in this Olympics, including the athletes, doctors, organizational unit, and journalists. I would like to thank the citizens of Georgia, who will be supporting Georgian Olympians and singing national anthem from different parts of the world.” – Said the President.
The President also met with his French colleague, François Hollande. The leaders wished luck to French and Georgian athletes. Following the meeting, the President, the First Lady, and the athletes had a dinner in the Olympic Village.
With the First Lady of Georgia the President Margvelashvili paid tribute to the memory of those who died at 13 June, in 2015. Giorgi Margvelashvili thanked to the people who jointly fought against the unanimously disaster and thanked to the heroes.
“This place where we are now reminds us the very difficult moments. A lot of people were involved in the works for restoration the territories,”-the President of Georgia said.
The President of Georgia and First Lady Maka Chichua will visit France on 20 April. Giorgi Margvelashvili will meet to Francois Hollande in Elysee Palace. The official ceremony will hold too. In the framework of the official visit, Giorgi Margvelashvili will also meet with the President of French Senate, Gerard Larcher and Director General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova.
The President of Georgia will also answer the questions of IFRI experts in Institute of International Relations. The goal of the visit is to deepen bilateral relations between Georgia and France.
