David Zalkaliani has held a farewell meeting with the Bulgarian Ambassador to Georgia
On 23 July 2021, the Vice Prime-Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, David Zalkaliani held a farewell meeting with the Bulgarian Ambassador to Georgia, Desislava Ivanova.
The Minister highlighted the Bulgarian Ambassador’s outstanding contribution towards strengtyhening traditionally friendly relations between Georgia and Bulgaria. Talking points included the increasing dynamics of high-level visits and successful sectoral cooperation. Special focus was placed on trade-economic links, cooperation in the sectors of transport and communications, education and culture.
Desislava Ivanova, for her part, expressed her gratitude to the Minister for the fruitful cooperation between the two countris in bilateral and multilateral formats. The Ambassador reaffirmed Bulgaria’s firm support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister thanked the Ambassador for her active work during the past five years and wished her success in her future career.
GIORGI MGEBRISHVILI HELD MEETING WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA
Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili held meeting with the ambassador of Bulgaria Desislava Ivanova. At the meeting the sides discussed tight and fruitful cooperation between the two countries. According to the Minister, Georgia has concluded important international agreement in the law enforcement sphere, on the basis of which, cooperation is implemented fruitfully. Minister outlined the importance of “Agreement between Georgia and the Republic of Bulgaria on Cooperation in the Field of Protection from Disasters” which was signed in 2015during the official visit of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Vice Premier of Bulgaria -Rumiana Bachvarova.
Giorgi Mgebrihvili and Desislava Ivanova have discussed plans of future cooperation on the basis of the agreement on operative and strategic cooperation. After enactment of the agreement, Georgia will become operative partner of EUROPOL.
Minister reviewed newly opened department –Joint Operations Center, acquainted ambassador with its functions and assignments.
At the end of the meeting Giorgi Mgebrishvili thanked Desislava Ivanova on behalf of the Ministry for the support and contribution in the EU integration process.
The newly appointed Bulgarian Ambassador to Georgia has presented copies of her credentials to the Georgian Foreign Minister
At the meeting held between Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze and newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria Desislava Ivanova, Bulgaria’s strong support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration was reaffirmed. The Ambassador underlined that during next three years the Embassy of Bulgaria will assume the functions of the NATO Contact Point Embassy
Newly appointed Ambassador Desislava Ivanova presented copies of her credentials to Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze.
Following the presentation ceremony, at the introductory meeting Mikheil Janelidze underlined the existing traditional friendly and partner relations between the two countries.
Discussions focused on bilateral relations and possibilities to develop transport corridor between Bulgaria and Georgia, as well as on the existing co-operation and plans for co-operation in the political, economic, defence, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
Bulgaria’s strong support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration was reaffirmed. In this context, the Ambassador underlined that in 2017-2019 the Embassy of Bulgaria in Georgia will assume the functions of the NATO Contact Point Embassy.
Mikheil Janelidze wished the newly appointed Ambassador success in her future activities. For her part, Desislava Ivanova expressed the readiness to promote the further enhancement of co-operation between the two countries.
