The sitting of the Committee on the Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights postponed
The sitting of the Committee on the Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights, scheduled in CoE Office in Paris, postponed due to absence of quorum. The Committee was to elect the candidates nominated by Georgia. The next sitting is scheduled to be held on January 22 prior to the January Parliamentary sessions.
“The quorum lacked the vote of one MP. In line with the rules, only the Members of the Parliament attending consideration of the candidates, are eligible to participate in voting”, - the Chair of the Legal Issues Committee, Eka Beselia stated.
