Basic Mountain Training Summer Course is ongoing in COL Besik Kutateladze Sachkhere Mountain Training School. 25 military servicemen from NATO 7member and partner countries are taking part in the course being conducted in the framework of NATO “Partnership for Peace Programme (PFP).
The military service members of the Armed Forces of Georgia, United States, Latvia, Poland, Armenia, Ukraine and Belarus will adopt the different mountain skills for three weeks. The military servicemen attending the course familiarized with the technique of ascending and descending rocks and overcoming obstacle lines in Chiatura Municipality village Katskhi.
The course participants are being practiced in the rules of using mountain equipment, planning routes on maps, moving across the mountain terrain with the help of a compass and a map, providing the first medical aid for wounded, organizing their surviving and wounding procedures. The course also includes marching at the altitude of 2 400 m and spending nights in camps.
Towards the end of the course, the participants will pass different complex and physical tests in case of successful accomplishment of the basic summer course to be finished on July 7.
