The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has expressed sorrow over the death of the Junior Sergeant from Georgia, Mdinari Bebiashvili in Bagram airfield territory, Afghanistan. Mr. Bebiashvili was participating in the Resolute Support Mission.
"I bow before each and every person who serves the homeland; who has sacrificed own life; who has been separated from families.
I show my respect for these militaries and express gratitude on behalf of Georgian citizens”, - the statement of the President reads.
President Margvelashvili has shown support to the family members, friends and companions of the deceased.
He has also wished a rapid recovery to other Georgian soldiers, wounded in the Bargam attack, who receive medical assistance in Bagram airfield hospital.
Military Training was held on the Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan with participation of the 43rd Battalion of the IV Mechanized Brigade of the Georgian Armed Forces.
Military personnel of the 43rd Battalion undergo trainings in evacuation of the wounded, rapid reaction and providing other elements of security. Before learning the tactics, Georgian soldiers mastered their skills in firing. The exercise was held in various security sectors of the Bagram Air Base with the help of the U.S. armored vehicles.
The trainings that are systematically held on the military base are aimed at maintaining high combat readiness of the 43rd Battalion.
The 43rd Battalion of the IV Mechanized Brigade participates in the Resolute Support Mission. The main mission of the Georgian unit is to provide security of the Bagram Air Base.
