X CONVOCATION PARLIAMENT OPENS AUTUMN SESSION WITH STATE ANTHEM
Georgia's national anthem was played as the tenth convocation of Parliament opened the autumn session. According to the administration of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Parliament, greeted the lawmakers at the start of the session.
"We are commencing the autumn session, and I want to start by wishing you everyone a productive session. We have a full schedule, so it's crucial that you all participate fully in the work and that we complete this meeting with as many decisions that will be beneficial as possible.
At the same time, I'd like to extend a greeting and best wishes for a fruitful and engaging session to the parliamentary media. We wish to work with you since comprehensive coverage of the Parliament's actions is highly essential to us", - Shalva Papuashvili addressed to his colleagues and journalists.
The Parliament convenes twice a year, in the spring and autumn sessions. The first Tuesday in September marks the beginning of the autumn session, which ends on the third Friday in December.
Prime Minister participates in the 7th Georgia-EU Association Council meeting

New Head of EU Delegation assumes his duties in Georgia
The new Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, has taken up his duties in Tbilisi.
Before joining the EU Delegation to Georgia, Ambassador Herczynski was a Managing Director for Common Security and Defence Policy and Crisis Response in the European External Action Service in Brussels. His previous postings include serving as Ambassador of Poland to the EU Political and Security Committee in Brussels, Deputy Permanent Representative of Poland to the United Nations in New York, and Deputy Director of the EU Department in the Polish MFA.
In his first message to the Georgian people, the Ambassador said that this new job was an honour and a great responsibility for him.
“My tenure comes at one of the most important moments in EU-Georgia relations. The historic decision by the European Council to grant Georgia the European perspective sets a new reality. Together with my team, I will work tirelessly assisting Georgia on its path to the European Union. It is an enormous privilege to have the chance to contribute to this process,” said Hercynski.
