I am departing for Brussels today, to hold high-level meetings; naturally, we will have discussions around our recently submitted questionnaire, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated during today's Cabinet meeting.

According to the Prime Minister, he is scheduled to meet with the NATO Secretary General, President Charles Michel of the European Council, the President of the European Parliament, and other senior officials.

"As you know, we completed the questionnaire ahead of schedule. Once again, I am thankful to all public servants engaged, the Ministers and the Cabinet as a whole, every institution, the Parliament, for making sure that the questionnaire is completed and submitted to the EU on time. I am about to have top-level meetings in Brussels on this and other issues. I will also meet with the NATO Secretary General, President Charles Michel of the European Council, the President of the European Parliament, and other senior officials. We will inform the public on the outcomes in due course," Irakli Garibashvili said.

On Sunday, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Director General of the Foreign Service of the US Department of State Carol Perez and First Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Dean Thompson. The meeting was attended by US Ambassador Matthew Stephen Klimow.
According to the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the meeting discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, touched upon regional and global issues, including climate change, on the topic of which the parties called for more active interaction.
The diplomats substantively discussed the state and prospects of trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and the United States, noting the role of the Turkmen-American Business Council.

В центре приема высоких гостей аэропорта Абу-Даби глава Халк Маслахаты Милли Генгеша встретился со старшим сыном почившего лидера страны – шейхом Султаном бин Халифой бин Зайедом Аль Нахайяном.

Выразив глубокие соболезнования от имени президента Туркменистана, туркменского народа и от себя лично, Гурбангулы Бердымухамедов подчеркнул колоссальный вклад покойного в развитие двусторонних отношений и их вывода на качественно новый уровень.

Также в ходе визита председатель Народного совета встретился с наследным принцем Абу-Даби, заместителем Верховного главнокомандующего ВС ОАЭ шейхом Мухаммедом бин Зайедом Аль Нахайяном. В беседе Гурбангулы Бердымухамедов подчеркнул, что усопший президент ОАЭ проводил большую благотворительную работу, за что его хорошо знали и уважали в Туркменистане.

Шейх Халифа бин Заед Аль Нахайян оказал содействие при возведении мечети в Ашхабаде, дворца детей-сирот «Довлетлилер кошги», Центр «Эне мяхри», Детской больницы в Марыйской области, Международного центра внутренних болезней, модернизации санатория «Арчман» и Международного аэропорта, а также оказал благотворительную помощь дворцу детей-сирот.

Председатель Халк Маслахаты подчеркнул, что «добрые дела покойного никогда не забудутся». Обратившись к наследному принцу Абу-Даби Гурбангулы Бердымухамедов отметил, что в случае согласия с его стороны, в предносящую пятницу намерен провести день поминовения усопшего в возведенной им в Ашхабаде мечети.

Делегация Туркменистана во главе с председателем верхней палаты парламента приняла участие в поминальных мероприятиях в Мечети Шейха Зайеда, где был прочитан молебен «аят-товир» в память о покойном. В этот же день делегация вылетела в Ашхабад.

Министр иностранных дел Туркменистана Рашид Мередов провел в воскресенье встречу с генеральным директором дипломатической службы Государственного департамента США Кэрол Перес и первым заместителем помощника госсекретаря США по делам Южной и Центральной Азии Дином Томпсоном. Во встрече принял участие посол США Мэттью Стивен Климоу.

Как сообщает пресс-служба туркменского МИД, на встрече рассмотрен широкий круг вопросов двустороннего сотрудничества, затронута региональная и глобальная проблематика, включая изменение климата, по теме которого стороны высказались за более активное взаимодействие.
Дипломаты предметно обсудили состояние и перспективы торгово-экономических связей между Туркменистаном и США, отметив роль Туркмено-американского Делового совета.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili will pay a working visit to Brussels from 16 to 18 May. 

According to the administration of the MFA of Georgia, the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili will meet his counterparts from the European Union within the EU Foreign Relations Council sitting.

Discussions will focus on the EU integration agenda, the EU self-assessment questionnaire handed in by the Georgian Government and the security situation in the region.

The judge has sentenced Nika Gvaramia to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment and ordered him to be held in custody in the courtroom.

Judge of Tbilisi City Court Lasha Chkhikvadze announced the decision a few minutes ago.

The prosecution accuses Niki Gvaramia of "abuse of power against the legitimate interests of the TV company and misuse of a large amount of its assets." Along with him are two more accused - Kakha Damenia and Zurab Iashvili.

The EU and FAO have opened a new Agricultural grant programme under ENPARD, the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development.

Individual grants in support of co-investments will be aimed at improving the productivity, quality and marketability of agricultural products, as well as strengthening linkages in agricultural value chains.

The competition will provide funding to farmers, cooperatives and SMEs whose farms and businesses operate in Lagodekhi, Dedoplistskaro, Tetriskaro, Akhalkalaki, Borjomi, Kazbegi, Keda, and Khulo municipalities. Gori municipality is in a special grant category.

Under this programme, farmers can invest in equipment such as no-till planters (for cereals), drip irrigation system, tractors, and anti hail nets (for apples).
