POLITICAL CONSULTATIONS BETWEEN THE MINISTRIES OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN AND TÜRKIYE
On November 28, 2022, political consultations were held in Ankara between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye.
The Turkmen delegation was headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, and the Turkish delegation was headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Ministers R.Meredov and M.Cavusoglu confirmed that Turkmenistan and Türkiye attach great importance to bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, as well as interaction within international organizations.
The heads of the foreign ministries of the two countries discussed topical issues of bilateral Turkmen-Turkish relations and interaction within the framework of regional and international structures. It was emphasized that high-level contacts, as well as regular consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries are an important factor in advancing relations. In this regard, the possibilities of carrying out the visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Türkiye in early 2023 were discussed.
The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry welcomed the acquisition of observer status by Turkmenistan in the Organization of Turkic States and expressed hope that Turkmenistan would become a permanent member.
The diplomats considered preparations for the trilateral meeting of Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Türkiye, which is scheduled to be held in Avaza, Turkmenbashi city, during which it is planned to sign a number of agreements. On the eve of the upcoming trilateral meeting in Turkmenistan, the importance of holding a meeting of the ministers of energy, transport and foreign affairs was noted.
Speaking about the need for coordinated actions to expand economic activity, the parties emphasized the role of the Interstate Turkmen-Turkish Commission for Economic Cooperation and the Turkmen-Turkish Business Council. Issues in the energy sector, in the field of establishing transport and transit corridors were also discussed.
Diplomats also exchanged views on further development of cultural and humanitarian relations. In addition, issues of interaction in the sphere of culture, science, sports and education were discussed.
During the visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was received by the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. R.Meredov conveyed greetings and best wishes to the President of the Republic of Türkiye on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral Turkmen-Turkish cooperation.
ACTUAL DIRECTIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF TURKMEN-KOREAN COOPERATION DETERMINED
On November 29, in the morning, the motorcade of the Hero-Arkadag headed to the Yonsan Palace of the President of the Republic of Korea. Here, the head of the protocol service of the Office of the President of the friendly state warmly welcomed Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and invited him to enter the building.
Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh went to the meeting hall of the Palace. Here Hero Arkadag and President Yoon Seok Yeol greeted each other warmly.
During the meeting, the high level of political-diplomatic, economic and cultural relations between the countries, which are actively developing on the basis of the principles of equality and mutual respect, and in recent years have reached a qualitatively new level, was stated.
In the afternoon, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the President of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) Christopher Koo, during which issues of developing cooperation in various areas, in particular, in the transport and logistics sector, were discussed.
Then Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with representatives of business circles of the Republic of Korea.
The meeting was attended by the heads of the following companies and structures of the country - "Hyundai Engineering", "Hyundai Corporation", "Hyundai Motor", Export-Import Bank of Korea "KEXIM", "LX International Corp.", "Omnisystem Co Ltd", "Daewoo Engineering & Construction, Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute (KOMERI), MESCO, National Institute for the Development of Korean Medicine, Chilgok Clinic at Kyungbuk National University, KITECH Convergent Technology Center, KD Navien.
At the end of the meeting, a ceremony of signing bilateral documents between the profile structures and business circles of the two countries took place.
Within the framework of the official visit of Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Korea, the members of the delegation of Turkmenistan met with the heads of the profile structures of the friendly country, during which the ways of further development of bilateral partnership were discussed.
Upon completion of the official visit to the Republic of Korea, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan left for homeland.
TURKMEN-AUSTRIAN BUSINESS FORUM WAS HELD IN ASHGABAT
On November 29, 2022, the Turkmen-Austrian business forum was held in Ashgabat. The event was organized by the Chamber of Commercу and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Federal Economic Chamber of the Republic of Austria.
A delegation consisting of heads and representatives of state institutions and companies of Austria specializing in the field of mechanical engineering, education, digital system and electronic software arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the Forum.
From the Turkmen side, representatives of a number of sectoral ministries and departments, as well as members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs took part in the business forum.
The agenda of the meeting included discussion of promising areas of partnership between sectoral departments and business circles of Turkmenistan and Austria, in particular, in the fields of industry, energy, agriculture and transport.
During the talks, ways were analyzed to bring relations to a new level in various areas of the economy and investments, in the field of high technologies, the possibility of expanding trade turnover, and specific plans for joint work were outlined.
Within the framework of the forum, meetings were also held between representatives of ministries and departments, private companies and entrepreneurs of the two countries, on the sidelines of which documents were signed, new ties were established, and issues of further interaction were discussed.
MEETING OF THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL TURKMEN-AZERBAIJANI COMMISSION FOR ECONOMIC COOPERATION IN BAKU
On November 28-29, 2022, the Turkmen delegation led by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B.Atdaev paid a working visit to Baku.
On November 29, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B.Atdaev was received by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The Vice Premier of Turkmenistan thanked the leader of Azerbaijan for the warm welcome and conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The President of Azerbaijan, in turn, conveyed warm and kind wishes to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the meeting, issues of further expansion of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani multifaceted cooperation were considered. In particular, the parties touched upon issues of cooperation in the field of transport and energy. At the same time, the Azerbaijani leader stressed the importance of promoting economic cooperation projects and cultural and humanitarian exchange programs.
The President of Azerbaijan, wishing fruitful work of the meeting of the Commission, expressed confidence that the upcoming meeting would serve as a further impetus for strengthening bilateral friendly ties.
In the afternoon, the sixth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission for Economic Cooperation was held.
The meeting of the Commission was chaired from the Turkmen side by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B. Atdaev, from the Azerbaijani side - Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov.
In frames of the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the implementation of the agreements reached during the previous meeting of the Commission. Proposals were considered to deepen cooperation between the relevant ministries and state agencies of the two countries, as well as to develop partnerships between business circles.
An increase in trade turnover was noted and the importance of implementing new joint projects that would further expand trade cooperation, was emphasized. Among the discussed topics was an interaction in shipbuilding and ship repair, as well as other industries. In addition, the prospects for opening Trading House of Turkmenistan in Baku and a Trading House of Azerbaijan in Ashgabat, including the creation of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani Business Council were discussed.
The parties agreed to hold the next seventh meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission for Economic Cooperation in 2023 in Ashgabat.
NEW AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF AUSTRIA ACCREDITED IN TURKMENISTAN
On November 30, 2022, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan V. Hajyiev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Turkmenistan (with residence in Baku) Mr.Thomas Schuller-Gotzburg, who arrived in Ashgabat to present credentials.
In course of the meeting the diplomats expressed the interest of Turkmenistan and Austria in establishing long-term cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. They also discussed the prospects for cooperation at the multilateral level and important issues on the UN agenda of mutual interest.
Emphasizing the important role of the foreign ministries in the development of cooperation between the two countries, the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria to Turkmenistan in 2021 was noted, during which the Program of Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2022-2023 was signed.
In frames of the meeting, Ambassador presented copies of his credentials.
In the afternoon, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan G.Mammedova received credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Turkmenistan (with residence in Baku) Mr.Thomas Schuller-Gotzburg.
The Chairman of the National Parliament congratulated the guest on his appointment to a responsible diplomatic post, wishing him success in strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The parties expressed interest in promoting trade and economic ties. In this regard, the importance of the Turkmen-Austrian business forum held on November 29, as well as the 11th meeting of the Turkmen-Austrian Joint Commission on business development and trade, which is taking place today in Ashgabat, was emphasized.
Cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian field was also discussed. In this context, it was noted that the Austrian-Turkmen Society, established in 2008, promotes various cultural events between the countries.
Thanking the Turkmen side for the wishes on the appointment to a high diplomatic post, the Austrian Ambassador to Turkmenistan assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen the Turkmen-Austrian relations.
THE ELEVENTH MEETING OF THE TURKMEN-AUSTRIAN JOINT COMMISSION WAS HELD IN TURKMENISTAN
On November 30, 2022, the 11th meeting of the Turkmen-Austrian Joint Commission was held in Ashgabat. The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan D.Rejepov from the Turkmen side, and from the Austrian side by Director General for Foreign Economic Relations of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economy of the Republic of Austria Franz Wessig.
The participants of the meeting heard reports on the implementation of the decisions of the 10th meeting of the Commission, held in Vienna on June 13, 2019. At the same time, issues of a long-term nature have been updated and reflected in course of discussions at the current meeting.
During the meeting, specific topics and projects in the field of construction, infrastructure, energy, environmental protection technologies and consulting were discussed, and readiness was expressed to assist in establishing contacts with interested structures of both countries.
It was noted that Austria has accumulated a lot of experience in the field of alternative energy and the use of clean energy. The Turkmen side expressed interest in exchanging experience with the Austrian side in the above mentioned areas, including studying the Austrian experience in the introduction of renewable energy sources.
The possibilities of expanding transport and logistics links between Turkmenistan and Austria were also discussed and the potential for cooperation between the two countries along the trans-Caspian international transport route, which today is becoming a link between the countries of the Central Asian region and Europe, was emphasized.
The parties noted the importance of cooperation in the development of bilateral relations in such areas as science, culture and education.
It was emphasized that within the framework of the work of the Commission, a Turkmen-Austrian business forum, as well as bilateral meetings were held and documents were signed between representatives of organizations, enterprises and business circles of Turkmenistan and Austria.
As a result of the meeting, the Protocol was signed. The parties agreed to hold the 12th meeting of the Turkmen-Austrian Joint Commission in 2023 in Austria.
MEETING AT THE MFA OF TURKMENISTAN WITH THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF TURKSOY
On November 30, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture Sultanbay Raev.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues of interaction between Turkmenistan and the organization TURKSOY was discussed.
Appreciation was expressed to the Secretary General of the Organization for the decision to declare 2024 the “Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world - Magtymguly Fragi”, and the ancient Turkmen city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world for the same year. In this regard, an exchange of views took place on holding joint events dedicated to the above significant date.
The possibilities of organizing a number of events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi were also considered.
The parties noted the significance for the Turkic world of the 30th anniversary since the establishment of the International Organization of Turkic Culture in 2023. In this context, attention was paid to the issues of holding significant events in the member countries of TURKSOY.
THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN RECEIVED THE MINISTER OF ENERGY OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN
On November 30, 2022, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Akbar Mehrabian.
Expressing sincere gratitude for the time spent, the guest conveyed warm greetings from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi to the head of state, who addressed the wishes of well-being and prosperity to all the Turkmen people.
Welcoming the guest and noting that one of the key vectors of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan is the development of multifaceted cooperation with neighboring countries, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed his best wishes to the President and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating with satisfaction the traditionally friendly, fraternal nature of the interstate dialogue.
During the meeting, the prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation were discussed, where mutual visits of government delegations are a significant factor. As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, Iran is a major trade and economic partner of Turkmenistan, occupying one of the leading positions in its foreign trade turnover. In this context, confidence was expressed that the meetings and negotiations scheduled during the current visit of the Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ashgabat will contribute to the further development of effective interaction that meets common interests.
In this regard, the need was noted for developing more effective partnership mechanisms in order to optimally realize its huge resource and economic potential. Here, an important role is given to the activities of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, designed to contribute to the intensification of the Turkmen-Iranian cooperation aimed at achieving concrete results.
At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Akbar Mehrabian expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation, based on strong ties of friendship and good neighborliness, principles of equality, mutual benefit and long-term, will continue to develop successfully for the common good.
ПОЛИТИЧЕСКИЕ КОНСУЛЬТАЦИИ МЕЖДУ МИНИСТЕРСТВАМИ ИНОСТРАННЫХ ДЕЛ ТУРКМЕНИСТАНА И ТУРЦИИ
28 ноября 2022 года в Анкаре состоялись политические консультации между Министерствами иностранных дел Туркменистана и Турецкой Республики.
Туркменскую делегацию возглавил Заместитель Председателя Кабинета Министров, Министр иностранных дел Туркменистана Рашид Мередов, а турецкую – Министр иностранных дел Турции Мевлют Чавушоглу.
Министры Р.Мередов и М.Чавушоглу подтвердили, что Туркменистан и Турция придают большое значение как двустороннему сотрудничеству в торгово-экономической и гуманитарной сферах, так и взаимодействию в рамках международных организаций.
Главы внешнеполитических ведомств двух стран обсудили актуальные вопросы двусторонних туркмено-турецких отношений и взаимодействие в рамках региональных и международных структур. Было подчеркнуто, что контакты на высшем и высоком уровне, а также регулярные консультации между внешнеполитическими ведомствами двух стран являются важным фактором в продвижении отношений. В этой связи обсуждались возможности осуществления визита Президента Туркменистана Сердара Бердымухамедова в Турцию в начале 2023 года.
Руководитель МИД Турции приветствовал получение Туркменистаном статуса наблюдателя в Организации тюркских государств и выразил надежду на то, что он станет постоянным членом.
Дипломаты рассмотрели вопросы подготовки к трехсторонней встрече Туркменистан-Азербайджан-Турция, которая запланирована к проведению в Авазе, г.Туркменбаши, в ходе которой планируется подписание ряда соглашений. Также в преддверии трехсторонней встречи в Туркменистане была отмечена важность проведения встречи министров энергетики, транспорта и иностранных дел.
Говоря о необходимости скоординированных действий по расширению экономической деятельности, стороны отметили роль Межгосударственной туркмено-турецкой комиссии по экономическому сотрудничеству и Туркмено-турецкого делового совета. Обсуждались вопросы в сфере энергетики, а также в области установления транспортно-транзитных коридоров.
Дипломаты также говорили о дальнейшем развитии культурно-гуманитарных отношений. Обсуждались вопросы взаимодействия в сфере культуры, науки, спорта и образования.
В рамках визита министр иностранных дел Туркменистана был принят Президентом Турецкой Республики Реджепом Тайипом Эрдоганом.
Р.Мередов передал Президенту Турецкой Республики приветствия и наилучшие пожелания от имени Президента Туркменистана Сердара Бердымухамедова и Председателя Халк Маслахаты Милли Генгеша Туркменистана Гурбангулы Бердымухамедова.
В ходе встречи стороны обсудили широкий круг вопросов двустороннего туркмено-турецкого взаимодействия.
ОПРЕДЕЛЕНЫ АКТУАЛЬНЫЕ НАПРАВЛЕНИЯ РАЗВИТИЯ ТУРКМЕНО-КОРЕЙСКОГО ВЗАИМОДЕЙСТВИЯ
29 ноября утром автокортеж Героя-Аркадага направился к Дворцу «Йонсан» главы Республики Корея. Здесь руководитель протокольной службы Аппарата Президента дружественного государства тепло приветствовал Аркадага Гурбангулы Бердымухамедова и пригласил пройти в здание.
Председатель Халк Маслахаты Милли Генгеша прошел в зал для встреч Дворца. Здесь Герой-Аркадаг и Президент Юн Сок Ёль тепло приветствовали друг друга.
В ходе встречи был констатирован высокий уровень политико-дипломатических, экономических и культурных отношений между странами, активно развивающихся на основе принципов равноправия и обоюдного уважения, а в последние годы вышедших на качественно новый уровень.
Во второй половине дня Председатель Халк Маслахаты Милли Генгеша Туркменистана провёл встречу с президентом Корейской международной торговой ассоциации (KITA) Кристофером Ку, в ходе которой были обсуждены вопросы развития сотрудничества по различным направлениям, в частности, в транспортно-логистической сфере.
Затем Аркадаг Гурбангулы Бердымухамедов встретился с представителями бизнес-кругов Республики Корея.

По завершении официального визита в Республику Корея Председатель Халк Маслахаты Милли Генгеша Туркменистана отбыл на Родину.
