Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Zakir Hasanov, Defense Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The parties discussed the partnership between the two countries and the agenda of future cooperation.
Attention was paid to the visit of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev to Georgia in October 2022. According to the head of Georgian Government, this visit reiterated the good-neighborly and friendly relations and the enormous potential between the two countries, especially in the trade and economic directions.
The conversation touched on the importance of ensuring stability for the welfare of people and the development of the region. The Prime Minister once again pointed out that Georgia is ready to continue promoting dialogue between the two neighboring countries in every way possible.
Attention was paid to the South Caucasus Peaceful Neighborhood Initiative proposed by Irakli Garibashvili which, along with the South Caucasus states, also engages international partners.
The Head of Government thanked the Azerbaijani side for firmly supporting the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The parties reviewed cooperation between sectoral structures and infrastructural projects of regional importance.
It was noted that 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
The meeting at the Government Administration was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia, Faig Guliyev, and the Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Medical Service, Elkhan Ibrahimov, from the Azerbaijani side, while Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze represented the Georgian side.

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili took to Twitter to offer condolences to Türkiye over an explosion in Beyoglu, the heart of Istanbul, that killed at least six people and wounded 81.

Zourabichvili said: “I am horrified by the explosion in Istanbul. My condolences to the families of the victims and my deepest sympathies to President Erdogan and the people of Türkiye.”

According to Reuters, Turkey’s government blamed Kurdish militants on Monday for a blast that killed six people in Istanbul’s main shopping street, and said police had detained 22 suspects, including the person who had planted the bomb.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that in early December he intends to discuss with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan the project of the "gas hub" proposed by Russia, RIA Novosti reports.

Presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan previously instructed to work out in detail and quickly the issue of creating a gas hub in Turkey, through which Russia could move gas transit from Nord Stream to the Black Sea region and Turkey. Erdogan also believes that Europe can receive Russian gas through Turkey.

“At the beginning of the coming month, during a visit to Turkmenistan, I intend to discuss this issue (the issue of the gas hub project) with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. I hope for good results,” Erdogan said at a briefing in Istanbul before flying to Indonesia for the G20 summit.

Earlier, Erdogan confirmed plans to create an international gas hub in the republic.

Putin proposed organizing a gas hub in Turkey after the story of sabotage on the pipelines of the Nord Stream system. The project is currently under discussion.

On November 11, 2022, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, took part as an honored guest in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States in Samarkand.

Upon arrival at Samarkand International Airport, decorated with the State flags of the countries participating in the current meeting, the distinguished guest was met by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Aripov and other officials. From the airport, the motorcade of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh headed to the venue of the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States - the Congress Center.

In the foyer of this majestic building, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev cordially welcomes the heads of delegations of the member states and observer countries of the Organization arriving one after another.

After the official joint photographing ceremony, the participants of the high-level meeting proceeded to a large conference hall, where a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States was held.

A wide range of issues were put on the agenda of the Samarkand Summit, including the discussion of ways to build up multilateral partnership in all key areas, priority tasks for the further development of the organization, as well as actual topics of regional and international issues.

In his speech, Hero-Arkadag expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the hospitality and the opportunity for fruitful work and stressed that he considers the current Summit as an event that will give a positive impetus to the Organization of Turkic States in international and regional processes, will strengthen the economic, trade and investment, cultural and humanitarian interaction between our countries.

Addressing the participants of the Summit, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recalled that last year Turkmenistan joined the Organization of Turkic States as an observer, which marked a new milestone in diversified cooperation with fraternal countries.

At the end of his speech, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov once again emphasized the relevance of further strengthening the unity and cohesion between neighboring and fraternal peoples united by a common history and origin, expressing the readiness of Turkmenistan for close cooperation to achieve the lofty goals - ensuring peace, well-being and progress.

At the end of the Summit, the joint autocortege of the heads of delegations of the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States went to Registan Square, located in the center of Samarkand. Here, the participants of the meeting took part in the joint planting of seedlings of young trees as a sign of indestructible friendship and brotherhood of the peoples of the region.

As part of his stay in Samarkand, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held separate bilateral meetings with the heads of friendly states.

Upon completion of the working visit to Uzbekistan, Hero-Arkadag proceeded to Samarkand International Airport, from where he left for his homeland.

Президент Турции Реджеп Тайип Эрдоган сообщил, что в начале декабря намерен обсудить с лидерами Азербайджана и Туркменистана проект предложенного Россией «газового хаба», передает РИА Новости.

Президенты России и Турции Владимир Путин и Реджеп Тайип Эрдоган ранее поручили детально и быстро проработать вопрос создания газового хаба в Турции, через который Россия могла бы переместить транзит газа с «Северных потоков» в регион Черного моря и Турцию. Также Эрдоган считает, что Европа может получать российский газ через Турцию.

«В начале грядущего месяца в ходе визита в Туркменистан намерен обсудить этот вопрос (вопрос проекта газового хаба) с лидерами Азербайджана и Туркменистана. Надеюсь на хорошие результаты», – сказал Эрдоган на брифинге в Стамбуле перед вылетом в Индонезию на саммит G20.

Ранее Эрдоган подтвердил планы создания в республике международного газового хаба.

Путин предложил организовать газовый хаб в Турции после истории с диверсией на трубопроводах системы «Северный поток». В настоящее время идет обсуждение проекта.
