The 410th room of the Parliament's B building was named after Maro Makashvili on the initiative of Nino Tsilosani, Chair of the Permanent Parliamentary Council for Gender Equality.
"Briefing Room" is named after the national hero of Georgia from today.
“Naming Maro Makashvili for one of the halls of the Parliament once again underscores the importance of women in Georgia's history and in gaining the country's independence. Many thanks to everyone who supported the issue, especially those from the opposition”, - Nino Tsilosani said.
The First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, Giorgi Volski, described the national hero Maro Makashvili as a worthy woman in our history at an important stage for the country.
The Bureau supplemented the Plenary Agenda with sundry issues.
The members of the Bureau approved the quotas set for the various councils and commissions in the conclusions of the Rules and Procedural Issues Committee.

Сivil society have played and is playing a crucial role in making progress in the critical areas of the Eastern Partnership, including political cooperation, economic recovery, and democratic reforms, said President Charles Michel addressing the participants of the Civil Society Assembly.
The 13th Annual Assembly of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF), ‘Road to recovery: fostering reform and resilience for a stronger Eastern Partnership’ is taking place from 30 November to 2 December bringing together online more than 300 Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and decision-makers from the Eastern Partner countries and the EU.
We have advanced our partnership in spite of challenges ranging from economic crises to armed conflicts and the COVID pandemic,” said Charles Michel. “You must continue to step forward and make your voices heard.”
The President added that the EU will insist in tackling challenges facing the Eastern Partnership: “Strengthening democracy, fighting corruption, defending the rule of law, guaranteeing a free media, and countering disinformation – this is an uphill battle, but an essential and a worthy battle”.
The Assembly will prepare its recommendations in the run-up of the 6th Eastern Partnership Summit (15-16 December 2021).
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava took part in the official opening of the fourth International Import Expo in Shanghai, China. Following the Covid regulations, a large part of the foreign participants participated in the ceremony online.
Shanghai International Import Expo has been held under the auspices of the Government of the People’s Republic of China since 2018 and is attended by the delegations from over hundred countries. Expo participants have the opportunity to present their products and meet potential business partners.
It should be noted that in 2018-2019, Georgian business delegation, by the decision of the Government of Georgia and organized and co-financed by the LEPL Enterprise Georgia Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, twice participated in the China International Import Exhibition. The products presented by them were diverse and included both food and industrial products.
At the same time, at the exhibition in 2019, Georgian stand was recognized as one of the best among 190 countries participating in the expo. The exhibition has significantly contributed to the growth of exports and diversification of export products in the People's Republic of China.
