Today, on November 18, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Chung Eui-yong.

During the talks, the ministers discussed priority issues of bilateral cooperation in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The sides noted the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea, built on principles of trust, mutual respect and mutual benefit. It was emphasized that regular contacts on topical issues of bilateral agenda contribute to this.

In particular, the sides noted the fruitful cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea in the work of the Joint Business Council, as well as within the multilateral format “Central Asia – Korea”. In this context, the foreign ministers of the two countries discussed the agenda of the 14^th Central Asia – Korea Cooperation Forum to be held on November 30 this year.

Today, on November 18, during his video address to the participants of the International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the need of further expansion of mutually beneficial dialogue in promising areas of interest.

The Head of Turkmenistan also drew participants’ attention to the most relevant issues of regional agenda and prospects of the development of mutually beneficial partnership in Eurasia. Turkmen-Korean relationship performance in bilateral and multilateral formats was underlined.

Development of effective trade-economic, energy ties, transport-transit corridors became another theme for the discussions.

In his speech the President of Turkmenistan, having noted the significance of the development of cooperation in the sphere of health protection, “green growth”, food security, emphasized the need for activation of a joint work with authoritative international and regional structures.

He also noted great prospects for multilateral activities in the sphere of humanitarian interaction. “The year of 2021 declared by the UN General Assembly on Turkmenistan’s initiative as the Year of Peace and Trust, is coming to an end. This initiative was based on the desire to attract attention of the world community to the need of strengthening of the peace culture and respectful dialogue, eliminating the trust deficit in interstate relations”, said the President of Turkmenistan.

Expanding human contacts through historical, cultural and educational ties, which were also identified as a priority of the Republic of Korea’s New Northern Economic Policy, is put forward as a solution to a common problem.

On November 18, 2021, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov delivered a video address at the International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation, held in Seoul, Republic of Korea in a hybrid format.

 Serving as a multilateral platform to promote economic cooperation in the Eurasian continent, this forum annually brings together prominent statesmen, representatives of business circles, world-renowned experts, as well as members of international and regional organizations. This year the Forum was launched under the motto “30 Years of Northern Cooperation: Toward a Future of Peace and Prosperity”.

In his video address to the Forum participants, the President of Turkmenistan expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Republic of Korea and noted that Turkmenistan views this representative forum as an important international platform for discussing and promoting strategic areas of economic cooperation throughout the Eurasian continent, as well as in a bilateral format with the Korean side.   

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan supports constructive steps to consolidate the efforts of the international community aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. In this regard, the Leader of the Nation added, “in this context, we see a lot in common in the development and implementation of sustainable development programs and strategies on the Eurasian continent, which forms the basis of the New Northern Economic Policy of the Republic of Korea and the strategic course of Turkmenistan aimed at “Revival of the Great Silk Road”.  

Countering the coronavirus pandemic and prevention of politicization of the international community’s efforts in this direction were among the key topics of the current forum. In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan expressed the need to further intensify cooperation within the UN, WHO and other reputable international organizations. “In general, we see good prospects for joint work on the implementation of projects in high-tech industries”, noted President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The current Forum also considered issues on further promotion of multilateral cooperation in the field of energy, transport, environment and digitalization.

Сегодня, 18 ноября, состоялся телефонный разговор между Заместителем Председателя Кабинета Министров, Министром иностранных дел Туркменистана Рашидом Мередовым и Министром иностранных дел Республики Корея Чон Ый-ёном.

В ходе беседы министры обсудили приоритетные вопросы двустороннего сотрудничества в политической, торгово-экономической и культурно-гуманитарной областях.

Стороны отметили развитие традиционно дружественных отношений между Туркменистаном и Республикой Корея, которые выстраиваются на принципах доверия, взаимного уважения и обоюдной выгоды. Было подчёркнуто, что этому способствуют регулярные контакты по актуальным вопросам двусторонней повестки.

В частности, в ходе переговоров было отмечено плодотворное взаимодействие Туркменистана и Республики Корея в работе совместного Делового совета, а также в рамках многостороннего формата «Центральная Азия - Корея». В этом контексте, Главы внешнеполитических ведомств двух стран обсудили повестку 14-го Форума сотрудничества «Центральная Азия – Корея», который планируется провести 30 ноября текущего года.

Сегодня, 18 ноября, в ходе видеообращения к участникам Международного форума по Северному экономическому сотрудничеству, Президент Туркменистана Гурбангулы Бердымухамедов подчеркнул необходимость дальнейшего расширения взаимовыгодного диалога в перспективных направлениях, представляющих интерес.

Глава Туркменистана также обратил внимание участников на наиболее актуальные вопросы региональной повестки и перспективы развития взаимовыгодного партнерства в Евразии. Подчеркнута результативность туркмено-корейских отношений в двустороннем и многостороннем форматах.

Развитие эффективных торгово-экономических, энергетических связей, транспортно-транзитных коридоров, также стала отдельной темой нынешних дискуссий.

В своем выступлении Президент Туркменистана отметив значимость развития сотрудничества в области здравоохранения, «зеленого роста», продовольственной безопасности, подчеркнул необходимость активизации совместных работ с авторитетными международными и региональными структурами.

Он также отметил большие перспективы для многосторонней деятельности в сфере гуманитарного взаимодействия. «2021 год – объявленный Генеральной Ассамблеей ООН по инициативе Туркменистана, Годом мира и доверия, подходит к концу. Эта инициатива была основана на желании привлечь внимание мирового сообщества к необходимости укрепления культуры мира и уважительного диалога, устранения дефицита доверия в межгосударственных отношениях», подчеркнул Президент Туркменистана.

Расширение человеческих контактов посредством исторических, культурных и образовательных связей, которые также определены в качестве приоритета Новой северной экономической политики Республики Корея, выдвинуто в качестве решения общей проблемы.

18 ноября 2021 года Президент Туркменистана Гурбангулы Бердымухамедов выступил с видеообращением на Международном форуме по Северному экономическому сотрудничеству, который прошел в городе Сеул, Республики Корея в гибридном формате.

Выступая многосторонней платформой для продвижения экономического сотрудничества на Евразийском континенте, данный Форум ежегодно собирает видных государственных деятелей, представителей бизнес-кругов, экспертов с мировым именем, a также членов международных и региональных организаций. В нынешнем году Форум стартовал под девизом «30 лет северного сотрудничества: к будущему мира и процветания».

В ходе своего видеообращения к участникам Форума, Президент Туркменистана выразил благодарность руководству Республики Корея, и отметил, что Туркменистан рассматривает этот представительный форум в качестве важной международной платформы для обсуждения и продвижения стратегических направлений экономического сотрудничества во всем евразийском континенте, а также в двустороннем формате с корейской стороной.  

Президент Гурбангулы Бердымухамедов подчеркнул, что Туркменистан поддерживает конструктивные шаги по консолидации усилий международного сообщества, нацеленных на достижение Целей Устойчивого Развития. В этой связи, Лидер Нации добавил, что «в этом контексте мы видим много общего в разработке и реализации программ и стратегий устойчивого развития на Евразийском континенте, что составляет основу Новой северной экономической политики Республики Корея и стратегического курса Туркменистана, направленного на «Возрождение Великого Шелкового пути».

Противодействие коронавирусной пандемии и недопущение политизации усилий международного сообщества в данном направлении были среди ключевых тем нынешнего Форума. В этой связи, Президент Туркменистана выразил необходимость дальнейшей интенсификации сотрудничества по линии ООН, ВОЗ и других авторитетных международных структур. «В целом мы видим хорошие перспективы для совместной работы по реализации проектов в наукоемких отраслях», отметил Президент Гурбангулы Бердымухамедов.

В ходе нынешнего Форума также рассмотрены вопросы по дальнейшему продвижению многостороннего сотрудничества в области энергетики, транспорта, экологии и цифровизации.
