22 июля 2020 года, в штаб квартире Всемирной торговой организации (ВТО) в городе Женева Швейцарской Конфедерации состоялось очередное заседание Генерального совета ВТО, в ходе которого была рассмотрена заявка Туркменистана на статус наблюдателя во Всемирную торговую организацию.

От туркменской стороны в заседании приняли участие Постоянный представитель Туркменистана при Отделении ООН в Женеве, а также представители Министерства иностранных дел, Министерства торговли и внешнеэкономических связей, Министерства финансов и экономики Туркменистана, которые приняли участие посредством видеоконференцсвязи.

В честь рассмотрения заявки Туркменистана на статус наблюдателя в ВТО была организована специальная церемония, в ходе которой Постоянный представитель Туркменистана выступил от имени Правительства Туркменистана. В своем выступлении он проинформировал участников Генерального совета об истоках процесса присоединения к Организации, в частности о новаторской политики реализации внешнеэкономической деятельности Туркменистана. Было отмечено, что «Программа развития внешнеэкономической деятельности Туркменистана на 2020-2025 гг.» является важным документом в данной связи.

Обретение страной данного статуса призвано способствовать динамичному развитию национальной экономики Туркменистана, укреплять позиции во внешней торговле, осуществлять многостороннее сотрудничество, привлекать инвестиции из-за рубежа и развивать международные торговые связи.  Это также касается разработки коммерческих и торговых стратегий, включая их успешную реализацию.

После выступления туркменской стороны, ряд представителей государств-участников Организации, включая Афганистан, Казахстан, Кыргызстан, Индию, Монголию, Панаму, Парагвай, Пакистан, Российскую Федерацию, Таджикистан, Турцию, Украину и Уругвай высказались в поддержку инициативы Туркменистана по вступлению в Организацию в качестве наблюдателя.

После обсуждений страны-участницы Генерального совета ВТО, единогласно приняли решение о присвоении Туркменистану статуса наблюдателя в ВТО.

В настоящее время 164 государства являются членами ВТО. 24 страны имеют статус наблюдателя в этой Организации. Туркменистан стал 25-й страной в статусе наблюдателя.

On July 22, 2020, the successive session of World Trade Organization (WTO) General Council was held in WTO headquarters located in Geneva of the Swiss Confederation, during which the application of Turkmenistan on accession to WTO as an observer was considered.

The Turkmen side was represented at the session by the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations at Geneva, as well as the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan who took part via videoconference.

In honor of assessing the request of Turkmenistan for accession to WTO in the status of an observer, a special ceremony was organized during which the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan delivered a speech on behalf of the Government of Turkmenistan. During the address, he informed the participants of the General Council about the background of the accession process to the Organization, in particular about the pioneering policy of implementing the external economic activity of Turkmenistan.  It was stated that the Programme on Foreign Economic Activity of Turkmenistan for 2020-2025 is a vital document in this regard.         

The gaining of this status by the country is intended to contribute to the dynamic development of the national economy of Turkmenistan, strengthen its standing in regard to foreign trade, carry multilateral cooperation, attract foreign investments and improve international trade ties. This also concerns the development of commercial and trade strategies including their successful implementation.  

Following the address of the Turkmen side, a number of representatives of the Organization’s member-states, including Afghanistan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Panama, Paraguay, Pakistan, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Uruguay expressed support to the initiative of Turkmenistan on the accession to the Organization as an observer.

After the discussions, the member-states of WTO General Council unanimously adopted the resolution on granting Turkmenistan the status of an observer in WTO.

Currently there are 164 WTO member-states.  Twenty four countries possess the status of an observer.  Turkmenistan became the 25th country with a status of an observer.

NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) hosted a solemn ceremony dedicated to the graduation of the courses of the Captain Career School of the Combined Army Center.

Deputy Chief of the Georgian Defence Forces and Acting Chief of the General Staff Brigadier General Irakli Dzneladze, Commander of Trainings and Military Education Command Colonel Grigol Chelidze and other MoD officials granted diplomas to 106 graduates.

The Captain's Career School provides training for the commanders, battalion and brigade staff officers as well as insures development of commanding skills.

The graduates underwent career programs in maneuvering, intelligence, artillery, aviation, military-engineering, air defense, logistics, personnel, medicine and communications. The aim of the course is to promote effective coordination and interaction between the different units.

Since its foundation, 1,600 military personnel finished the School.
