The Ministry of Agriculture plans to tighten up the policy
One of the priority areas for the development of agriculture for food safety control system for the efficient and flexible arrangements possible.
Consequently, the National Food Control Agency for Food Safety Monitoring annual program, under which food sampling and testing is done in a proper manner, in order to establish its suitability for human consumption.
Since the beginning of 2015, 971 inspections have been carried out. Out of the 12 business process was suspended, and fined 63 operators.
Many of the identified critical violations of human health and life threat was inappropriate.
Under the current legislation, in the case of the business has a reasonable doubt that the threat to human health by the food, it is obliged to prevent the selling of food to get to or from the network to provide a list. Otherwise, business for the first time reaches 1000. In case of repetition of similar actions, still a fine of 1000 GEL.
Food safety control should be adequate for effective implementation of the default law.
Given this, the Ministry of Agriculture considers it appropriate to review the penalty policy, its tightening direction.
