To celebrate the 30th anniversary of US-Georgia diplomatic relations, Ambassador Kelly Degnan visited the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The guests were hosted by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Butkhuzi. The presentation of the infrastructural projects, which were implemented with the partnership and support of the USA, was held at the Academy.

On 19 September 2022, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Georgia, Zhou Qian.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues on the agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Special attention was paid to successful trade and economic cooperation between Georgia and the People's Republic of China. It was noted that China has become one of the main trade partners for Georgia in recent years.
Discussions focused on the importance of exchanging high-level visits between the two countries. The sides reviewed the possibility of taking appropriate steps in this direction and agreed on active cooperation.
The sides reaffirmed their unwavering and consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each other's countries.

Employees of the relevant units under the Ministry of Internal Affairs are mobilized in Kutaisi
Employees of the relevant units under the Ministry of Internal Affairs are mobilized in Kutaisi, on Shota Rustaveli Avenue, conducting operational and investigative measures. The investigation was launched on the fact of the attack on one of the branches of "Bank of Georgia", the act of terrorism, taking hostages for terrorism purposes, and illegal purchase, storage and carrying of ammunition.In the course of operational-investigative activities it has been established that an armed person broke into the branch of "Bank of Georgia" located on Shota Rustaveli Avenue, Kutaisi and took several people as hostages in order to appropriate large amount of cash.At the moment, 12 people remain in the building as hostages. Law enforcement officers are taking all necessary measures for their timely and safe release.The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on the media representatives to observe the safety norms and follow the instructions of the police on the spot.The incident is being investigated under Articles 144, 236, 323 and 329 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.STATEMENT OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS

Irakli Garibashvili: Ambassadori Batumi Island’s large-scale investment project is set to further bolster Batumi’s solid international reputation and Adjara’s economic progress
Yesterday we are launching a unique, global-standard project that is truly exceptional in our region. This project covers two artificial peninsulas, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated in his speech at Ambassadori Batumi Island’s time capsule burial ceremony today.According to the Head of Government, at least 100 million USD will be invested in this project, and 2,000 local residents will be employed.“I would like to greet all of you with enormous respect and congratulate you on this day, because today we are launching a unique, global-standard project that is truly exceptional in our region. This project covers two artificial peninsulas, and one island will be built to bring together recreation and wellness, sports, educational, residential, and tourism directions, and I am confident that this investment project, the largest in the region, will further bolster Batumi’s solid international reputation and Adjara’s economic progress. I would like to greet the project’s initiator and our investor, Ambassadori Group’s leader, Mister Keburia and his family. I would like to thank Ambassadori Group, because this company has already invested tens of millions of dollars and, without exaggeration, has created truly unique projects in various Georgian regions, including Tbilisi, Kakheti, and Adjara. And now we have a project that is unique for our country and the entire region. Thus, I would like to thank the investor. The event’s invited guests were also addressed by the Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, the Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Tornike Rizhvadze, and the Cofounder of Ambassadori Batumi Island, Fridon Katamadze.Ambassadori Batumi Island’s large-scale project seeks to create two ultramodern artificial recreation and welfare peninsulas and one island and to put in place relevant infrastructure. Under the project, modern-standard commercial, entertainment, sports, educational, wellness and health, residential, and tourism and recreation infrastructure will be built. The project is fully implemented with private investments. Ilia Darchiashvili has held a farewell meeting with the Ambassador of Armenia
On 1 September 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili held a farewell meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia, Ruben Sadoyan.
The Minister thanked the Armenian diplomat for his significant contribution to the development of relations between Georgia and the Republic of Armenia and wished him success in his future work.
At the meeting, the sides spoke about the fruitful cooperation between the two countries and prospects for its development.
