On June 6, 2022, a telephone conversation took place between the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation S.Lavrov.
During the talks, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation. In particular, the preparations for the high-level bilateral meetings were discussed.
The heads of the foreign policy offices of two countries also discussed issues related to the preparations for the Sixth Caspian Summit which will be held this year in Turkmenistan.

THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN RECEIVED THE DEPUTY CHAIRMAN OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
On November 15, 2022, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation from the Russian side Alexei Overchuk, who arrived in Turkmenistan at the head of a representative delegation of his country.

Relations between parliaments have also noticeably intensified. An important stage in their strengthening and filling with new content was the recent official visit of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Russian Federation.
Particular attention during the meeting was paid to cooperation in the trade-economic, scientific and technical fields, which are inherently effective. It was noted that in recent years, good dynamics has been demonstrated by mutual trade. Among the priority areas of partnership were the oil and gas sector, industry, transport and logistics, trade and a number of other industries.
In this context, a significant role is assigned to the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission, whose activities are aimed at realizing the existing potential of economic partnership and are designed to promote the diversification of productive contacts in various fields.
Along with this, it was emphasized that the traditional humanitarian dialogue is an equally important area of interstate cooperation. Here, a special place is occupied by the established fruitful ties in the field of education, science and culture, as well as in the field of health care.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk expressed confidence that the mutually beneficial Turkmen-Russian partnership, based on long-standing ties of friendship, good neighborliness and solid long-term experience, would continue to develop successfully.

INFORMATION ON EXPANDING COOPERATION BETWEEN TURKMENISTAN AND THE EUROPEAN UNION
On September 23, 2022, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov, within the framework of the last meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country, reported on the current tasks of the foreign policy of our state, and also informed about the ongoing work to further expand cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union, and the implementation of earlier reached agreements.
First of all, effective tools were noted in bilateral and multilateral formats in order to develop relations on a systematic basis with the EU in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, within which regular meetings and consultations are held.
First, one of the priority areas is the strengthening of constructive cooperation in the political and diplomatic sphere, in particular, the intensification of work on organizing visits and high-level meetings with the leadership of the European Union. In this direction, it was also proposed to appoint a new Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Belgium at the same time as the head of the Representation office of Turkmenistan to the European Union.
In addition, the expediency of expanding productive cooperation and the active participation of the delegation of Turkmenistan in the framework of the Joint Committee "Turkmenistan - European Union", the format "European Union - Central Asia", the Inter-Parliamentary Dialogue "Turkmenistan - European Union", the forum "EU - Central Asia" on sustainable interconnectedness.
Secondly, noting the importance of the tasks of developing trade-economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU, it was proposed to continue developing the concept of the Business Council "European Union-Turkmenistan" on the basis of previously reached agreements.
Also, in order to continue cooperation with the EU in the field of oil and gas, electricity and renewable energy sources, it was proposed to hold regular consultations on energy cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union.
In addition, the importance of the practical development of bilateral and regional relations in the field of transport and communications was emphasized, in connection with which specific proposals on this track were submitted for consideration by the country's leadership.
Thirdly, the interaction of our country with the European Union in matters of climate change, environmental protection and environmental safety was emphasized. In this context, concrete steps were proposed to intensify work in the above areas, in particular, the possibility of holding a scientific and practical conference with European partners on the experience of the European Union in the use of green energy and hydrogen, as well as the reduction of methane emissions, was announced.
Further, noting that the cultural and humanitarian sphere occupies an important place in the development of relations between Turkmenistan and the EU, it was proposed to hold a number of events aimed at strengthening the dialogue in this direction.
Along with this, proposals were made to strengthen the legal framework for relations between Turkmenistan and the European Union.
The President of Turkmenistan instructed the Head of the Foreign Ministry of our country to continue targeted work on the identified issues, taking into account the existing opportunities and prospects for the practical realization of the potential of mutually beneficial cooperation with European partners.

The Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian and Russian countries will become a regular one
The Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian countries and the Russian Federation is being held in Ashgabat under the chairmanship of the head of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The event was preceded by a flower-laying ceremony at the Monument to the Constitution of Turkmenistan, after which the participants proceeded to the Congress Center located in the southern part of the Turkmen capital.
As the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko noted on the form, today's forum will lay the foundation for holding regular meetings in such a format.
Matvienko called the main strength of the inter-parliamentary dialogue its ability to create opportunities for interaction and dialogue between representatives of the participating countries. Thanks to this, "we can discuss the most pressing topics and offer solutions that will be really in demand by citizens," said the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.
