THE PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK OF THE HERO-ARKADAG “ÖMRÜMIŇ MANYSY” TOOK PLACE
On May 3, 2022, the presentation of the book of Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "Ömrümiň manysy" was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, faculty and students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan took part in the presentation of the new book.
The speakers spoke in detail about the significance of the new literary and philosophical work "Ömrümiň manysy", its meaning in educating young people in the spirit of patriotism, spiritual perfection, good qualities that elevate everyone.
At the end of the presentation, the audience sincerely wished the Hero-Arkadag good health, long life, success in activities for the benefit of the people and the state, and new creative success.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia hails the European Council’s decision regarding GeorgiaThe European Council adopted an important historic decision on granting an EU membership perspective to Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine.
With the decision of the European Council, the EU leaders have confirmed that Georgia’s future lies within the European Union and that Georgia will definitely become a member of the organization.According to the decision of the European Council, Georgia, once a range of recommendations are fulfilled will be automatically granted a candidate status, while Ukraine and Moldova have received a candidate status on condition of complying with the recommendations given to them.
By awarding Georgia an EU membership perspective, the EU has recognized Georgia as a European country and has acknowledged the progress made in Georgia-EU relations in the past few years. Indeed, this result would have been hardly imaginable without the efforts and reforms implemented in the country over the recent years.
The decision of the European Council takes on a particular importance in view of the challenges that threaten the system of western value and European security, of which Georgia is an integral part.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the European Council’s decision and the EU leaders’ support in this process.
We believe that this is a historic moment for Georgia and from now on, the door to Europe is definitely open to our country.
Being committed to common values, Georgia, together with the EU, will continue to pursue an ambitious reform agenda leading to Georgia’s final integration with the EU.
Georgia will work actively to meet the recommendations to achieve the deserved candidate status as soon as possible and to regain its rightful place in the European family.
The final event of the economic diplomacy project has been held at the Palace of Ceremonies of Georgia
On 3 June 2022, at the Palace of Ceremonies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) organized a final event of the economic diplomacy project.
The project was supported by the EBRD, the European Union and Produce in Georgia. Under the project, experts from the British-based International Center for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS) trained more than 60 diplomats in attracting foreign investments and promoting trade.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Alexander Khvtisiashvili, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Irakli Nadareishvili, the EBRD Regional Director for the Caucasus, Catarina Bjorlin Hansen and the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia Asunción Sánchez Ruiz.
A discussion was held on the topic: "Harnessing Shifting Value Chains for Georgia: the Role of Economic Diplomacy", which was attended by representatives of various agencies and private companies. The discussion was moderated by Dr. George Welton, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Georgia (AMCHAM).
The event was attended by the heads of Georgian ministries, international organizations and foreign embassies accredited in Georgia.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan met with the Ambassador of France
During a meeting on Monday. Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and French Ambassador Isabelle Guinel discussed bilateral relations and the country's interaction with the European Union, which France is chairing for the current half year.
The diplomats noted that Turkmenistan and the EU have significantly stepped up the partnership, highlighting such priority areas as stability and security, trade, economic and investment cooperation, including energy, transport and other sectors. The ecological sphere is also of mutual interest. At the same time, it was emphasized that there are extensive prospects for expanding mutually beneficial ties.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador of France agreed to maintain regular working contacts for this purpose.
A meeting with the Director General of the US Foreign Service was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
On Sunday, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Director General of the Foreign Service of the US Department of State Carol Perez and First Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Dean Thompson. The meeting was attended by US Ambassador Matthew Stephen Klimow.
According to the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the meeting discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, touched upon regional and global issues, including climate change, on the topic of which the parties called for more active interaction.
The diplomats substantively discussed the state and prospects of trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and the United States, noting the role of the Turkmen-American Business Council.
The Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian and Russian countries will become a regular one
The Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian countries and the Russian Federation is being held in Ashgabat under the chairmanship of the head of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The event was preceded by a flower-laying ceremony at the Monument to the Constitution of Turkmenistan, after which the participants proceeded to the Congress Center located in the southern part of the Turkmen capital.
As the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko noted on the form, today's forum will lay the foundation for holding regular meetings in such a format.
Matvienko called the main strength of the inter-parliamentary dialogue its ability to create opportunities for interaction and dialogue between representatives of the participating countries. Thanks to this, "we can discuss the most pressing topics and offer solutions that will be really in demand by citizens," said the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.
