PRESENTATION OF THE NEW BOOK OF THE PRESIDENT TOOK PLACE AT THE IMO OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN

On February 19, 2022, the presentation of the new book of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Abadançylygyň röwşen gadamlary” took place in the conference hall of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Rectors, professors, teachers and students of the country’s universities, heads and employees of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations in Turkmenistan, chief editors of the country’s newspapers and magazines, attended the event.

Opening the event, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov noted that in the informative and richly illustrated new book of the Head of state found a deep understanding of the modern history of our Fatherland, the priorities of its further development.

The book outlines clear and principled approaches of our state on such vital issues of modern development as the preservation and strengthening of global peace, stability and security, provides assessments and prospects for regional development, presents specific proposals and initiatives to stimulate a broad and trusting interstate dialogue based on the Charter UN and internationally recognized legal norms, the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan added.

The release of this compilation is a timely, relevant and demanded event. I am convinced that the book will provide answers to many complex questions of modern international life, will help to better understand the deep motives that guide Turkmenistan in its activities on the world stage, the role, goals and objectives of our country in the global coordinate system. In this sense, the book is of interest not only to professionals - politicians, diplomats, experts, journalists, but also to everyone who is interested in foreign policy, the Minister said.

Emphasizing the importance of presenting the distinctive sign “Türkmenistanyň ussat diplomaty” to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Head of the Foreign Ministry noted that this is an expression of great trust and boundless respect shown by all the Turkmen people - the architect of Turkmen diplomacy and foreign policy.

Also speaking at the event were Acting Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Philip Saprykin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkmenistan Talant Sultanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan Irfan Ahmed, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Turkmenistan Ruben Kharazyan.

In addition, Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs J. Gurbangeldiyev, Rector of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly B. Orazdurdiyeva, Rector of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after. D. Azadi M. Kuliyeva made their presentations.

As noted during the speeches, this publication is a collection of speeches by the Leader of the Nation to the public; it summarizes various issues of the country's development, reflections on foreign policy, economics, culture, science and other areas. In addition, the new book includes many proposals regarding the further development of our state.

The presentation participants emphasized that the new book of the President of Turkmenistan “Abadançylygyň röwşen gadamlary” gives an opportunity to a wide range of readers to be acquainted with the important achievements of the Turkmen state in domestic and foreign policy.

At the end of the event, the presentation participants adopted an Address to the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

    A monograph "Turkmenistan-UNESCO: Let's Preserve Monuments Together" has been prepared as a manual for the international program "Memory of the World".

    Currently, the documents prepared by Turkmenistan on the inclusion of the Akhal-Teke horse breeding art, traditions of horse decoration, silk production, etc., prepared by Turkmenistan, are being considered and studied.

    It was emphasized that the accession of Turkmenistan to the UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage opens up broad prospects for bilateral partnership. Within the framework of the above-mentioned Convention, the National Commission of Turkmenistan is preparing a national dossier for inscription of the Koytendag mountain ecosystem into the UNESCO World Heritage List.

    The participants of the meeting paid attention to cooperation and intensification of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO in the field of sports and physical education.

     

  • TASHKENT HOSTED AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE "AFGHANISTAN: SECURITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT"

    On July 26, 2022, an international conference "Afghanistan: Security and Economic Development" was held in Tashkent. The forum was attended by official delegations, scientists and researchers, heads and experts of leading analytical centers of the neighboring states of Afghanistan, including from all countries of Central Asia, Russia, the USA, Iran, Pakistan, India and Belgium, heads and specialists of a number of international and regional organizations, including the UN, the EU, the OIC, the SCO, as well as the delegation of the Interim Government of Afghanistan.

    The conference participants expressed their understanding that today the main priority should be the revival and strengthening of the Afghan economy as an important factor in achieving lasting peace in this country, and reaffirmed their commitment to its formation as a peaceful, indivisible, independent, economically developing state, free from terrorism and drug crime.

    Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan V. Hajyiev noted in his speech that the Turkmen side is interested in the reconstruction of Afghanistan, its integration into world economic relations, and infrastructure development. It is these factors that will have a positive impact on ensuring the security and stability of both the country itself and the region as a whole.

    He also stated that for Turkmenistan, the process of peacebuilding in Afghanistan is based on the unity of three key areas: political, economic and social-humanitarian.

    In the political dimension, he stressed, Turkmenistan calls on all interested states and international organizations to develop a dialogue with the new Afghan authorities. V. Hajyiev also drew attention to the importance of developing cooperation with Afghan companies, continuing the implementation of international economic projects that have been launched. In addition, the need to provide regular humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people in order to prevent the threat of a humanitarian crisis was noted.

    Readiness was expressed at the forum to continue the coordination of international efforts and joint work to promote the post-conflict reconstruction of Afghanistan and its integration into the world community.

    Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met Abdulla Shahid, President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 76) today.

    Dignitaries discussed the active topics of cooperation between Georgia and the United Nations within the scope of the UN General Assembly.
    Focus was made on the current situation witnessed in the occupied regions of Georgia and the significant role of the UN in the peaceful resolution of the conflict. The Prime Minister of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the President of UNGA76 for the solid support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.
    Focus was made on peace and security, human rights, sustainable development and gender equality.

  • The Presidents of the Central Asian countries discussed the creation of a regional TV channel and the removal of trade barriers

    The heads of Central Asian countries discussed at a consultative meeting in Cholpon-Ata a number of initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation in various fields, Kyrgyz media write.

    There was an initiative to create the first common TV channel in the region and a series of TV projects that will tell about the potential of the region, as well as the history and identity of the cultures of the peoples of Central Asia.

    The TV channel will also be able to strengthen the interaction of countries in preventing negative phenomena in the information space, the Head of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted.

    Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov spoke in favor of removing barriers to free trade between Central Asian countries. He called free trade, investment and the development of transport and transit infrastructure in Central Asia drivers of regional growth.

    There was also a proposal to organize joint special tourist routes, introduce relief when crossing common borders by tourists, hold joint tourist exhibitions, etc.

  • Presidents of Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan met in Cholpon-Ata

    President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan to attend the summit of the heads of states of Central Asia, met with the head of the republic Sadyr Japarov in the city of Cholpon-Ata, the press service of the Kyrgyz leader reports.

    During the meeting, Sadyr Japarov noted that Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan are close friends and strategic partners, and the Kyrgyz side attaches great importance to the expansion and qualitative development of trade and economic ties with the official Ashgabat.

    Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked the Kyrgyz side for the warm welcome and noted that Turkmenistan is ready to continue fruitful cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all areas of mutual interest.

    The Turkmen leader also expressed confidence that the documents planned for signing today during the meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia would contribute to the expansion and deepening of cooperation between the countries of the region.
