Meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan began its work

Today, an extraordinary meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty (People’s Council) and Milli Gengesh (National Council) of Turkmenistan began its work in our country. The meeting is passing under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan - President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. To the meeting of Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh will be attended by members of the Government, deputies of Parliament, heads of ministries and departments, political parties and public organizations, hyakims of velayats, etraps and cities, members of the velayat, etrap, city Halk Maslakhats.

The work of the meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh consists of two parts, the first part of which began in the morning with an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. At the meeting, the results of the work of the Government last year were summed up, the reports of the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers were heard and an assessment was made of the results of their work, and the tasks of the country's socio-economic development in the current year were discussed.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to increase gross domestic product growth by at least 6 percent, increase the income of our state and develop a market economy.

Our National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of developing a new Milli Maksatnama(National Program) of the President of Turkmenistan for the period up to 2027 to improve the living conditions of the population of villages, towns, cities, etraps and the center of etraps. By possibility, more investments should be made to implement this Maksatnama(Program).

Our Head of State signed a document approving the Maksatnama for the socio-economic development of our country for 2022.

Addressing the participants of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that at the beginning of last year a competition was announced to determine the velayats and etraps with the highest rates of socio-economic and cultural activities in the velayats by the end of 2021. Our Head of State noted that recently, a special team led by the Professional unions of our country summed up the results of the competition. Based on this, the winner was determined and it was announced.

Our Head of State signed a decree on awarding the winner of the competition, the Hyakimlik of Dyanev etrap of theLebap velayat, with a cash prize in the amount of one million US dollars.

A break has been declared in the work of the meeting. In the break time, gives a toy sadaka (charitable celebration).

After the end of the sadaka, the meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty will continue its work. In the process, it is planned to adopt the Milli Maksatnama for Socio-Economic Development of our country from 2022 to 2052.

The adoption of this Maksatnama will become a historic event in the calendar of national development of our Independent, eternally Neutral country.

    Currently, the documents prepared by Turkmenistan on the inclusion of the Akhal-Teke horse breeding art, traditions of horse decoration, silk production, etc., prepared by Turkmenistan, are being considered and studied.

    It was emphasized that the accession of Turkmenistan to the UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage opens up broad prospects for bilateral partnership. Within the framework of the above-mentioned Convention, the National Commission of Turkmenistan is preparing a national dossier for inscription of the Koytendag mountain ecosystem into the UNESCO World Heritage List.

    The participants of the meeting paid attention to cooperation and intensification of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO in the field of sports and physical education.



    On July 26, 2022, an international conference "Afghanistan: Security and Economic Development" was held in Tashkent. The forum was attended by official delegations, scientists and researchers, heads and experts of leading analytical centers of the neighboring states of Afghanistan, including from all countries of Central Asia, Russia, the USA, Iran, Pakistan, India and Belgium, heads and specialists of a number of international and regional organizations, including the UN, the EU, the OIC, the SCO, as well as the delegation of the Interim Government of Afghanistan.

    The conference participants expressed their understanding that today the main priority should be the revival and strengthening of the Afghan economy as an important factor in achieving lasting peace in this country, and reaffirmed their commitment to its formation as a peaceful, indivisible, independent, economically developing state, free from terrorism and drug crime.

    Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan V. Hajyiev noted in his speech that the Turkmen side is interested in the reconstruction of Afghanistan, its integration into world economic relations, and infrastructure development. It is these factors that will have a positive impact on ensuring the security and stability of both the country itself and the region as a whole.

    He also stated that for Turkmenistan, the process of peacebuilding in Afghanistan is based on the unity of three key areas: political, economic and social-humanitarian.

    In the political dimension, he stressed, Turkmenistan calls on all interested states and international organizations to develop a dialogue with the new Afghan authorities. V. Hajyiev also drew attention to the importance of developing cooperation with Afghan companies, continuing the implementation of international economic projects that have been launched. In addition, the need to provide regular humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people in order to prevent the threat of a humanitarian crisis was noted.

    Readiness was expressed at the forum to continue the coordination of international efforts and joint work to promote the post-conflict reconstruction of Afghanistan and its integration into the world community.

    The heads of Central Asian countries discussed at a consultative meeting in Cholpon-Ata a number of initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation in various fields, Kyrgyz media write.

    It is expected that during the meeting, the heads of Central Asian states will exchange views on strengthening cooperation, joint response to challenges and threats to regional security.

    Prospects for expanding cooperation to ensure sustainable economic growth of the region's states will also be discussed. Following the meeting, it is planned to sign a number of documents.
