Dozens of youths from China and Africa have gathered in Beijing for the sixth China-Africa Youth Festival this week.

The event was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

Joseph Oliver Mendoo, a Cameroonian PhD student majoring in international politics at Peking University, has been in China for almost six years.

He said he has learned a lot from the way the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese government have been handling the pandemic.

Fatma, an Egyptian student from the North China University of Technology, said that China is much safer than many countries in the world and China has made the best efforts to protect its people.
