President of Turkmenistan and Prime Minister of Japan specify priorities of the interstate partnership

The meeting of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzō Abe had a meeting in the Akasaka Hotel in Tokyo.

Welcoming the distinguished guest, the Prime Minister of Japan thanked the President of Turkmenistan for accepting the invitation to visit Tokyo and taking part in the festivities on occasion of Emperor Naruhito’s accession to the throne as well as for the attention paid to issues of interstate relations. Moreover, the high interest of the Land of the Rising Sun in the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan was confirmed.

Prime Minister Shinzō Abe also thanked President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the trust placed in Japanese companies, working on the Turkmen market and participating in major projects.

Thanking for the cordial welcome, the President of Turkmenistan noted that he was happy with the opportunity to meet with the head of the Japanese government. The Turkmen leader congratulated Prime Minister Shinzō Abe and the people of Japan congratulations on Emperor Naruhito’s accession to the throne.

Expressing satisfaction with the new dynamics of bilateral cooperation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shinzō Abe for his personal attention and keen participation in the development of Turkmen-Japanese relations.

According to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan and Japan efficiently cooperate in the format of international structures that is proved by the mutual support of constructive initiatives and proposals put forward within the framework of authoritative organizations of global and regional scale.

Specifying trade and economic relations as one of the priorities of the bilateral partnership, the President emphasized that at present, Turkmenistan and Japan had built up strategic and long-term cooperation in this area. That is vividly exemplified by the successfully implemented projects for the construction of oil and gas and gas chemical complexes.

At the same time, the Turkmen-Japanese dialogue is successfully developing in the cultural, scientific and educational fields. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that our country welcomed the intensification of these contacts and gratefully accepted the assistance provided by Japan in training of specialists.

During the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Shinzō Abe exchanged views on the prospects of the Turkmen-Japanese partnership.

At the end of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Shinzō Abe expressed confidence in expanding interstate cooperation and exchanged good wishes to each other, as well as to the peoples of the two countries.

    To celebrate the beginning of the new academic year, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli addressed the teachers, students, parents, professors:

    "Due to the ongoing pandemic, 2020 turned out to be full of challenges for the entire world. Consequently, we have to start this school year under unusual circumstances.

    Protecting the health and safety of every pupil, teacher, student, lecturer and every citizen is a major concern of our government, so in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Interagency Coordinating Council headed by the Prime Minister has decided to start the academic year in a remote mode for some cities and municipalities across the country. Starting October 1, classes will continue normally in classrooms and auditoriums nationwide.

    Under these uncertain times, in the conditions of harsh pandemic during the spring semester, the Georgian education system quickly adapted to the new reality in the shortest possible time, and we, as a team, in cooperation with our foreign partners, managed to deal with the existing challenge, and set an example for many to follow. As a result, we have maintained the continuity and quality of education. Therefore, Georgian education system, has gained considerable experience in terms of hybrid teaching.

    In the previous semester, TV School project was one of the most important pillars that allowed us to maximize access to education. Subsequently, starting from September 15, the project TV school will resume again. It will be yet again, an extremely important component of distance learning, and a substantial resource for all students and teachers in Georgia. In order to successfully overcome the challenge we face today, every citizen needs to show the greatest civic responsibility so that the epidemic situation does not worsen. I believe that with joint efforts we will be able to deal with this important obstacle and the learning process will return to the usual environment in no time.

    I, as a Minister and an ordinary citizen of this country, would like to extend my immense gratitude to every student, teacher, lecturer, parent and every employee of educational institution for your resilience, professionalism, responsibility and dedication.

  • CEO of Çalık Holding informs President of Turkmenistan on the progress in implementing a number of projects

    In frames of a working trip to the Balkan velayat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received CEO of Çalık Holding group of companies Ahmet Çalık.

    Thanking for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the businessman congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on the significant event - the start of construction of gas turbine power units at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries.

    Wishing the President of Turkmenistan good health and success in his versatile activity, the guest expressed belief in that the international community highly appreciated the achievements of Turkmenistan, which demonstrates the rapid paces of development.

    As noted, the “open door” policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan, high rates of economic growth, large-scale programmes for the development of the industrial sector, a favorable investment climate provide wide opportunities for enhancing partnership with foreign business circles and attracting world experience in many areas, primarily in knowledge-intensive and high-tech industries.

    Underlining the fruitful character of relations between Turkey and Turkmenistan, bounded with the ties of friendship, fraternity as well as historical and cultural affinity, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov dwelled upon the activity of the Turkish company on the Turkmen market

    In this context, the Turkmen leader focused on increasing the efficiency of the holding's participation in the implementation of large-scale mutually beneficial projects.

    Underlining the importance of the largest energy pipeline - the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, as well as the TAP power transmission line, the construction of which was entrusted to Çalık Holding, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the CEO of the company to complete all works at the high level within the target time frame.

    Noting that it is a great honor for his company to continue long-term cooperation, participating in the implementation of large-scale transformation programmes, carried out in our country, the Turkish businessman reported on the progress in implementing a number of joint projects.

    Commenting on the report, the President once again focused on the importance of high quality of construction works and completion of works within timeframes stipulated by the contracts.

    At the end of the meeting, Ahmet Çalık assured the President of Turkmenistan that his company would continue taking the most responsible approach to fulfillment of partnership obligations.

  • President of Turkmenistan receives PJSC Lukoil President

    In frames of a working trip to the Balkan Velayat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received President of PJSC Lukoil Vagit Alekperov.

    Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to discuss the prospects for cooperation, the guest focused on the high interest of Russian business, and, in particular, the largest oil company Lukoil, in further expanding partnership with Turkmenistan.

    The President of Turkmenistan expressed satisfaction with the traditionally friendly, constructive character of the Turkmen-Russian relations, which creates favorable conditions for the steady strengthening of business ties in key areas.

    One of the most significant spheres of mutual interests of the two states, recognized as the world energy powers, is the oil and gas industry, the development of which is of particular importance, taking into account the huge resource potential.

    The possibilities of implementing joint projects and long-term cooperation on an economically beneficial basis for the both parties were discussed during the meeting.

    Presenting the activity of PJSC Lukoil on the development of hydrocarbon deposits in the Caspian Sea to the President of Turkmenistan, the businessman underlined that the favorable investment climate and reliable legal framework created in Turkmenistan helped attracting foreign business investments in the development of oil and gas fields, and the construction of related infrastructure

    Expressing the interest in participating in large-scale transformation programmes, successfully implemented in our country, Vagit Alekperov underlined the willingness of his company to share the experience, accumulated in increasing the capacities of the mining and processing segment, developing the gas and petrochemical industry, producing high-tech products of great demand the global market with Turkmenistan.

    In conclusion, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the head of the largest energy company in Russia exchanged good wishes, expressing confidence in the successful continuation of fruitful partnership.

  • TELEPHONE CONVERSATION OF THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA

    On August 28, 2020, a telephone conversation was held between the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in.

    After warmly greeting each other, the leaders of two friendly countries expressed satisfaction for the opportunity to exchange views on priority issues of interstate cooperation.

    In the framework of constructive conversation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed sincere gratitude to the Leader of the Republic of Korea for the attention paid to strengthening of the Turkmen-Korean dialogue. Also words of gratitude were expressed for overall support of the neutral foreign policy pursued by Turkmenistan, including the important initiatives of the country aimed at strengthening peace, overall security and international cooperation for sustainable development.

    Noting the actively developing partnership in recent years, Turkmen Leader emphasized significance of joint projects in the fields of energy, transport, ecology, healthcare and cultural-humanitarian cooperation. The sides also highly appreciated productive work of the Central Asia - Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum.

    In addition, underlining the important role of the bilateral Intergovernmental Committees and Business Councils, the Presidents expressed confidence in that the successive session of Turkmen-Korean Business Council held recently will contribute to further deepening of interstate trade-economic and investment cooperation.   

    Moreover, the parties underlined the importance of traditional cultural-humanitarian ties.  The significance of cooperation in the field of medicine and healthcare was stressed taking into consideration the present extremely serious challenge in front of the whole humankind.

    In the end of the conversation, the Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Moon Jae-in expressed confidence in that interstate dialogue will further successfully strengthen for the benefit of both countries and peoples.
