We are honored to host the Silk Road Forum for the third time in Tbilisi, Georgia. This event has gathered more than 2000 participants from over 60 countries, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated in his speech at the formal reception honoring the delegates of the Silk Road Forum.
As the Head of Government underlined, more than 300 bilateral meetings have already been scheduled, which is remarkable, indeed.
Besides Georgia's investment opportunities, Giorgi Gakharia, in his speech, also singled out the worldwide uniqueness of Georgian hospitality.
"Georgia is not only the best place for investments and doing business. Georgia is a homeland of winemaking and Georgians are number one hosts in the world, because hospitality is in the DNA of our culture.
So, let me, keeping in mind all countries along the Silk Road, raise a toast to Georgia at the crossroad of civilizations, where future is born from history and traditions," Giorgi Gakharia stated.

"Support of Germany has a tremendous importance in the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia. Your Official Visit confirms that Germany regards Georgia as its reliable partner" stated Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia at a meeting with Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany today.
Successful cooperation and current potential of further intensified economic links in various sectors were underlined at the meeting. In the opinion of German President, Georgia leads by economic reforms and current partnership momentum in the area is much welcomed.
Parties discussed the current conditions witnessed in the occupied territories of the host country. Prime Minister of Georgia stressed the significance of western partners raising the development of events in the occupied territories of Georgia at a high level both in international and bilateral formats with Russia. Head of Government of Georgia expressed gratitude to Germany for its engagement in the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM).
Progress achieved by Georgia towards its European and Euro-Atlantic integration was underlined at the meeting. Prime Minister of Georgia particularly praised the role played by German experts in the implementation of the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package.
Cooperation of the two countries in arts and culture, along with education was praised at the meeting. Contribution of Germany was commended in the development of vocational education in Georgia. Prime Minister of Georgia noted that Government of Georgia highly appreciates the significant support of Germany in providing funding for education programs and stands ready to further intensify the cooperation towards this end.

Giorgi Gakharia Thanks US Government for Financing New Enterprises in Villages along Occupied Territories
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia thanked the US Government for allocating 500,000 USD to finance new enterprises in the villages along the occupied territories.
It is yet another clear demonstration of Georgia's support by the US, the Head of Government told US Chargé d'Affaires Elizabeth Rood during their meeting today.
The meeting emphasized the recent developments in the occupied territories, the dire humanitarian and security situation on the ground, and the occupant forces' destructive steps near the village of Chorchana, Khashuri Municipality.
The conversation also touched on the key aspects of the US-Georgia strategic partnership, and political and economic cooperation. The meeting also discussed Georgia's ongoing reforms and the Government's steps toward empowering democratic institutions and enhancing the quality of governance.
Giorgi Gakharia: Opening the European School is a new step for our system of education and in Georgia-EU relations
The opening of the European School is a very important new step for our system of education and, most importantly, a step forward in the relations between Georgia and the European Union, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated in his speech at today's ceremony marking the beginning of construction of the European School Complex.
The Head of Government expressed gratitude to European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiation Johannes Hahn for his special contribution to the initiation of the project.
"This school, and its character, bears witness to the importance of Georgia-EU relations, and the depth of our developing cooperation and partnership. The school's students will propagate the values poised to strengthen this country and eventually turn it into an organic part of the European Union," Giorgi Gakharia emphasized.
The Prime Minister also thanked Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Mikheil Batiashvili and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze for their engagement with the project's implementation.
The Prime Minister, together with European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiation Johannes Hahn, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Mikheil Batiashvili and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, buried a time capsule at the construction of the European School Complex by Lisi Lake. The EU-standard European School with a dorm for 100 students will be built in this territory. The land for the school is allocated by the Tbilisi City Hall.
The European School, unmatched throughout the region, will set a precedent outside the European Union. The establishment of the school is one of the goals of the Eastern Partnership's 20 Deliverables for 2020 under the Eastern Partnership for the EU. The school will offer a multicultural environment and fundamental values-based quality education to students from six partner countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, and Ukraine-with a view to enhancing their employment opportunities.
GIORGI GAKHARIA EXPRESSES GRATITUDE TO ANDERS FOGH RASMUSSEN FOR SUPPORTING EURO-ATLANTIC ASPIRATIONS OF GEORGIA
"European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia is a choice made by the Georgian people and our government is loyal to this cause" stated Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia at a meeting with Anders Fogh Rasmussen, former Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Alliance (NATO) held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Anders Fogh Rasmussen is visiting the country within the scope of an international conference organized by the Economic Policy Research Center (EPRC) and McCain Institute. Head of Government of Georgia expressed gratitude to the visiting dignitary for supporting European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Georgia.
Discussions were related to the fruitful cooperation with NATO in various directions, including the joint efforts aimed at the increased compatibility of Georgian defense forces and improved defense capabilities of the country.
Former Secretary General of NATO praised the achievements made by Georgia and noted that he will continue to support the country in the process of North-Atlantic integration.
Focus at the meeting was made on the current position in terms of security and challenging humanitarian condition witnessed at the occupied territories of Georgia. Prime Minister of Georgia once again confirmed loyalty of the Government of Georgia towards peaceful resolution of the conflict and peace-building policy at large.
Anders Fogh Rasmussen congratulated Giorgi Gakharia upon his appointment to the position of the Prime Minister of Georgia and wished success in all his future endeavors.

"Further intensified strategic partnership with USA, along with the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia is a solid priority of our foreign policy" stated Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia at a meeting with Phil Reeker, US Acting Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.
At his first official meeting held as a Head of Government of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia focused on intensifying US-Georgia relations in every possible direction, including security and economic cooperation.
Visiting US dignitary clearly voiced the need of further extending and deepening the US-Georgia strategic cooperation.
Significance of continued efforts towards further consolidation and capacity building of democratic institutions was underlined.
Discussions at the meeting were related to the current position in the region, hard conditions witnessed in the occupied regions of Georgia in terms of security and humanitarian needs. Visiting US dignitary expressed concerns about the recent development of events along the occupation line and so called borderization process, thereby noting that USA continues to call upon Russia to honor its commitments.
Prime Minister of Georgia particularly noted his high appreciation towards the solid support of international partners and expressed gratitude to the US Government.
