Alpha and Charlie companies of the 23rd Battalion of the 2nd Infantry Brigade conducted a scheduled military exercise at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan, where Georgian servicemen practiced target shooting at 25 meter range.
Alongside with the marksmanship exercise, the military personnel of the 32nd Battalion together with the rapid reaction platoon of the Georgian National Guard participated in an air rescue exercise and practiced evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield.
Training of Georgian peacekeepers was conducted with the support of the United States Marine Corps. The 23rd Battalion of the II Infantry Brigade has been deployed to Afghanistan within the Resolute Support Mission (RSM) since April, with the primary objective of providing security around Bagram Air Base.
