Basic Mountain Training Winter Course conducted in Bakuriani
Basic Mountain Winter Training Course has launched in Bakurini in the framework of NATO Partnership for Peace Program. 21 military servicemen from NATO partner and member states are participating in the course.
Within three weeks the military from Lithuania, Hungary, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Belorussia together with the sodleirs form Georgia will learn basic mountaineering skills in winter conditions including skiing on ski route, march moving and overcoming an obstacle line by skis. The foreign soldiers have to make shelters in snowy terrain and to sleep in the snow house Iglu.
The course is conducted by Besik Kutateladze Sachkhere Mountain Training School Instructors. At the end of the preparation the military servicemen will be tested in technical and physical skills. In case of successfully finishing the course they awarded certificates, badges and will be provided with recommendations. Three months-long course will be over on March 10.
MEETING OF THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL TURKMEN-AZERBAIJANI COMMISSION FOR ECONOMIC COOPERATION IN BAKU
On November 28-29, 2022, the Turkmen delegation led by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B.Atdaev paid a working visit to Baku.
On November 29, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B.Atdaev was received by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The Vice Premier of Turkmenistan thanked the leader of Azerbaijan for the warm welcome and conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The President of Azerbaijan, in turn, conveyed warm and kind wishes to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the meeting, issues of further expansion of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani multifaceted cooperation were considered. In particular, the parties touched upon issues of cooperation in the field of transport and energy. At the same time, the Azerbaijani leader stressed the importance of promoting economic cooperation projects and cultural and humanitarian exchange programs.
The President of Azerbaijan, wishing fruitful work of the meeting of the Commission, expressed confidence that the upcoming meeting would serve as a further impetus for strengthening bilateral friendly ties.
In the afternoon, the sixth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission for Economic Cooperation was held.
The meeting of the Commission was chaired from the Turkmen side by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B. Atdaev, from the Azerbaijani side - Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov.
In frames of the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the implementation of the agreements reached during the previous meeting of the Commission. Proposals were considered to deepen cooperation between the relevant ministries and state agencies of the two countries, as well as to develop partnerships between business circles.
An increase in trade turnover was noted and the importance of implementing new joint projects that would further expand trade cooperation, was emphasized. Among the discussed topics was an interaction in shipbuilding and ship repair, as well as other industries. In addition, the prospects for opening Trading House of Turkmenistan in Baku and a Trading House of Azerbaijan in Ashgabat, including the creation of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani Business Council were discussed.
The parties agreed to hold the next seventh meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission for Economic Cooperation in 2023 in Ashgabat.
Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili meets Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan.At the meeting held at the Administration of the Government, the directions of strategic cooperation existing between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and prioritized by both countries were discussed. Readiness to further deepen productive cooperation was expressed. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Zakir Hasanov, Defense Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan.The parties discussed the partnership between the two countries and the agenda of future cooperation.Attention was paid to the visit of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev to Georgia in October 2022. According to the head of Georgian Government, this visit reiterated the good-neighborly and friendly relations and the enormous potential between the two countries, especially in the trade and economic directions.The conversation touched on the importance of ensuring stability for the welfare of people and the development of the region. The Prime Minister once again pointed out that Georgia is ready to continue promoting dialogue between the two neighboring countries in every way possible.Attention was paid to the South Caucasus Peaceful Neighborhood Initiative proposed by Irakli Garibashvili which, along with the South Caucasus states, also engages international partners.The Head of Government thanked the Azerbaijani side for firmly supporting the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.The parties reviewed cooperation between sectoral structures and infrastructural projects of regional importance.It was noted that 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan.The meeting at the Government Administration was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia, Faig Guliyev, and the Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Medical Service, Elkhan Ibrahimov, from the Azerbaijani side, while Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze represented the Georgian side.

Erdogan intends to discuss with the leaders of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan the project of "gas hub"
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that in early December he intends to discuss with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan the project of the "gas hub" proposed by Russia, RIA Novosti reports.
Presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan previously instructed to work out in detail and quickly the issue of creating a gas hub in Turkey, through which Russia could move gas transit from Nord Stream to the Black Sea region and Turkey. Erdogan also believes that Europe can receive Russian gas through Turkey.
“At the beginning of the coming month, during a visit to Turkmenistan, I intend to discuss this issue (the issue of the gas hub project) with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. I hope for good results,” Erdogan said at a briefing in Istanbul before flying to Indonesia for the G20 summit.
Earlier, Erdogan confirmed plans to create an international gas hub in the republic.
Putin proposed organizing a gas hub in Turkey after the story of sabotage on the pipelines of the Nord Stream system. The project is currently under discussion.
MEETING OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE HALK MASLAKHATY OF THE MILLI GENGESH OF TURKMENISTAN WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN
On November 11, 2022, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who takes part as an honored guest in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States, met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Warmly greeting each other, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss in a personal meeting the key aspects of multilateral cooperation and the current state of affairs in bilateral relations.
Taking the opportunity, the head of the friendly state conveyed warm greetings to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and congratulated the Hero-Arkadag on being awarded the “Supreme Order of the Turkic World”, which became recognition of his huge contribution to the further rapprochement of the Turkic peoples.
As emphasized during the meeting, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan are united by a long history, traditional relations of friendship, trust and mutual understanding, cultural and spiritual community of peoples.
Noting that thanks to joint efforts in the modern era, these contacts are acquiring a new quality and content, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction the intensification of trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and inter-parliamentary cooperation, confirming that the Turkmen-Azerbaijani partnership, based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and good neighborliness becomes more and more dynamic and progressive.
It was also stated that the positions of the parties coincide or are similar on key issues of international politics and interregional relations of mutual interest, primarily in the field of ensuring global peace and security.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, expressed the unanimous opinion that cooperation in the legislative sphere would serve as a significant step in strengthening fruitful cooperation, and in parting, they wished each other good health, prosperity and further success in their activities in the name of progress, and peace and prosperity to the fraternal peoples of the two states.
